Before watching, check the title page in the account you’ll use: a movie shown in the app may require a paid add-on, rental, or purchase. For a search across services, use a guide such as JustWatch to narrow the options, then confirm access in the service itself.
Start in the streaming service you already pay for
Choose the service and account where you plan to watch. Browse its movie catalog if you want inspiration, or search by title if you already have a film in mind. The exact menu names can vary by device, app version, plan, and country.
Browse by category
HBO Max documents a Movies or Series route on TV and a Browse route on phones, tablets, and computers. Its catalog can also be explored by genre or brand, including rows for new releases and recently added titles. See the HBO Max Help Center for its navigation guidance.
Search for a particular movie
If you know what you want to watch, use the service’s title search rather than browsing a storefront at random. Hulu’s help guidance recommends searching for a specific program and directs users to its streaming library and plan-specific inclusions. See Hulu’s help page.

Use a guide to search across services
If you subscribe to several platforms, a streaming guide can help identify which service may have a film. For example, JustWatch’s US guide lists services including Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and Prime Video. Its filters include release year, genre, rating, price, production country, runtime, and age rating. Select the services relevant to you and use the result as a lead—not proof that the movie is included in your plan.
Guides can reflect a different territory, account eligibility, or catalog status than the one you’ll encounter when you sign in. Open the movie’s page in the service account where you intend to watch and check the access terms there.

Tell included movies from paid options
A movie appearing in a streaming app does not necessarily come with the base subscription. Before pressing play—or confirming a transaction—identify which of these access types the title page offers:
- Included with your plan: The title is playable under your specific account and subscription without a separate payment.
- Paid channel or add-on: The title requires another subscription, even if it appears in the same app. Amazon describes Prime Video channel subscriptions as additional paid subscriptions, while noting that free options also exist; see About Amazon’s explanation of Prime Video Channels.
- Rent or buy: The film is available through the storefront, but that listing alone does not mean it is part of a streaming plan. Amazon distinguishes subscription access from titles offered to rent or buy.
If the access label is unclear, do not assume the movie is included: look for a separate subscription, rental, or purchase prompt and verify the plan attached to your account.

Check country, bundle, and app access
Availability is tied to both location and account. Amazon says subscription availability varies by region, and catalog rights can change. Make sure a guide is set to your country and verify the movie in the service itself before relying on it.
A bundle or partner app may also provide only part of a service’s catalog. Hulu and Disney+ describe select Hulu titles as available through Disney+ for eligible subscribers; Hulu’s own app remains the place for its full library and certain add-on or Live TV content. Recheck movies you plan to watch later
Streaming catalogs change as rights rotate. HBO Max says some movies and shows are available for a limited time and identifies titles leaving soon in a Last Chance row. If you plan to watch a movie later, check its service page again close to viewing time.
