Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYou can preview a website in visionOS Safari using the visionOS Simulator on a Mac, then inspect it with Mac Safari Web Inspector. A Vision Pro headset is optional for that first pass. Spatial viewing helps you assess scale, depth, placement, and visual prominence in context; it does not automatically test every responsive breakpoint or validate the page’s code.
What spatial preview can—and cannot—show
Apple describes visionOS as supporting ordinary windows, 3D volumes, and immersive scenes. For a conventional website, the practical starting point is its presentation in Safari: you can judge how the page and its important content sit in a spatial environment rather than only within a flat desktop browser window. See Apple’s visionOS platform overview.
That view can make relative scale, depth, placement, and visual hierarchy easier to consider. Apple’s spatial-layout guidance explains that distance, occlusion, and shadow can help people perceive depth, and recommends keeping important content centered within the field of view. These are design considerations, not a substitute for checking responsive layouts, DOM behavior, or browser compatibility. Apple’s Spatial layout guidance is written for spatial interfaces broadly, not as a website-testing checklist.
For the web, the underlying experience remains Safari. WebKit authors Ada Rose Cannon, Jon Davis, and Jen Simmons write, “For the most part, there’s nothing special you need to do for the spatial web. It’s truly Safari, with the same WebKit engine and its extensive support for web standards.” Their guide documents preview and debugging routes rather than an automated 3D layout-analysis tool: Try out your website in the spatial web.

Preview a website in the visionOS Simulator
If you have a Mac but no headset, use the visionOS Simulator for an initial spatial preview. WebKit’s guide describes opening a site in the simulator’s Safari environment and connecting Safari Web Inspector on the Mac. Simulator presentation is useful for an early visual check, but it is not identical to viewing the page through a physical headset.
- Open the visionOS Simulator on your Mac and start its Safari environment.
- Navigate to the website you want to review.
- On the Mac, open Safari’s Web Inspector for the page in the simulator to inspect and debug it.
- Review the page’s spatial presentation separately from its technical behavior: note content scale, placement, depth cues, and whether key information is comfortably visible.
WebKit published its setup guide on June 12, 2024, with steps referring to visionOS 1.2/2-era releases. Simulator and Web Inspector concepts are documented there; exact menu labels and settings may differ in newer software.

Inspect a live page in Apple Vision Pro
For an evaluation in the actual headset, load the page in visionOS Safari, enable Web Inspector in the headset’s settings, and pair the headset with the Mac. Then use Safari’s Develop menu on the Mac to select the page running on the headset. Web Inspector changes appear in visionOS Safari, letting you inspect the live page while considering its presentation in the headset. Follow WebKit’s guide for the setup details: WebKit’s spatial-web testing guide.
This route requires access to Apple Vision Pro, while the simulator route does not. Choose based on the question you need to answer: a simulator can help with an initial preview and inspection; a headset lets you assess the page in the physical viewing experience. Neither route, by itself, establishes that a site works at every viewport size or across every browser.

What to look for during a spatial layout review
- Scale: Does the page feel legible and appropriately sized at its displayed scale?
- Placement: Are the page and its primary content positioned where a viewer can comfortably attend to them?
- Depth and layering: Do distance, overlap, and shadows clarify hierarchy, or make elements harder to interpret?
- Prominence: Does the most important content attract attention without competing with surrounding material?
- Visibility: Can a viewer comfortably see the key content in the spatial presentation?
Use a conventional browser workflow as well for responsive breakpoints and implementation details not established by spatial preview. A spatial check answers how the page reads in that setting; it should complement, not replace, ordinary browser testing.
Website preview is different from spatial design-review software
Spatial website preview means viewing a live web page in visionOS Safari and, when needed, debugging it with Safari Web Inspector. Spatial design-review software can instead focus on inspecting or manipulating a 3D product model and collaborating on design changes. For example, Onshape Vision describes CAD model inspection and collaboration in Vision Pro. That is an adjacent design use, not evidence that Onshape Vision is a tool for debugging conventional website layouts.

Apple’s April 9, 2024 business announcement also gives examples of spatial-computing software in business, but it is a vendor announcement rather than independent evidence that a headset improves design outcomes: Apple Vision Pro brings a new era of spatial computing to business.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What interface-layout research does—and does not—establish
A separate line of research explores generating interface-layout alternatives. The authors of the 2020 CHI paper Scout: Rapid Exploration of Interface Layout Alternatives through High-Level Design Constraints report an evaluation with 18 interface designers. They found Scout could help designers create more spatially diverse layouts at similar quality to a baseline and support early ideation. That result concerns Scout, a layout-exploration system; it is not evidence that viewing websites in a headset improves design outcomes.
