Public Telegram channel posts are visible to anyone, and new subscribers can see a channel’s full message history. That visibility does not automatically permit automated scraping, copying, archiving, or reuse. Telegram’s terms expressly prohibit certain collection—especially scraping channel or group posts to build large datasets or AI products—so first check that your intended collection fits Telegram’s rules and respects the channel owner’s protections.
What “public” means on Telegram
Telegram says posts in public communities are accessible to everyone. A public channel has a username and link, and new subscribers can see its entire message history. These points describe who can view posts; they are not blanket permission to extract or reuse them.

Can you scrape a public Telegram channel?
It depends on the method and purpose. Telegram’s Bot Developer Terms say bots may collect and process only data essential to their service. They specifically prohibit scraping public group or channel contents to create large datasets, machine-learning models, or AI products. Telegram’s wording is explicit: “Always prohibited uses include any form of data collection aimed at creating large datasets, machine learning models and AI products, such as scraping public group or channel contents.”

Telegram’s Bot Platform Developer Terms of Service apply to bots and related use of the Bot Platform. Its Content Licensing Terms also restrict access to user-generated content for purposes outside ordinary, legitimate, intended use of Telegram. They prohibit scraping, indexing, harvesting, aggregating, or using Telegram data to develop, enhance, benchmark, or deploy AI or machine-learning systems, except where Telegram grants an exception based on individually obtained, informed, affirmative, continuing consent scoped to the relevant content and context.
The terms describe a limited exception for data needed to operate a legitimate third-party Telegram client, bot, or Mini App that complies with the applicable requirements. That is not a general authorization for a no-code scraper. Whether a particular collection or subsequent use is lawful can also depend on jurisdiction, copyright, privacy, and the circumstances; the cited platform terms do not settle every legal question.

A permission-first no-code workflow
The available official information does not establish which no-code scraper currently supports Telegram, what fields it extracts, or how it handles credentials and exports. So there is no responsible basis here for naming a product or giving a tool-specific click-by-click recipe. If your use is permitted, use this checklist before configuring any service:
- Define the purpose and scope. Write down why you need the posts, which channel and date range are necessary, and how the data will be used. Do not proceed if the goal is to scrape public channel or group content for a large dataset or an AI/ML system without an applicable Telegram-granted exception.
- Check the applicable rules. Review Telegram’s Bot Developer Terms and Content Licensing Terms for your collection method and intended use. A scraper’s technical ability to access posts does not establish permission.
- Respect channel protections. Owners can enable content protection to restrict copying, forwarding, screenshots, and saving media. Do not use a scraper or workaround to defeat those controls. Telegram says content from protected groups or channels must be treated as protected even when a particular message does not show a protection flag; see its content protection documentation.
- Evaluate the tool before connecting it. Check its current documentation for Telegram support, authentication and credential handling, collected fields, export options, rate-limit behavior, retention and deletion controls, and protected-content handling. Do not provide credentials unless you understand how the service receives and stores them.
- Minimize and safeguard any permitted collection. Collect only what is necessary for the stated purpose, set a retention period, restrict access, and delete data when it is no longer needed. For bots, Telegram’s terms specifically limit collection, storage, aggregation, and processing to what is essential to the bot’s service.
- Review the output before using it. Check for missing, duplicated, or protected posts and verify that the export is used only for the purpose you assessed. Do not assume the export may be republished, shared, or used to train a model just because the posts were publicly viewable.
Why bot and API access is not a shortcut
Telegram’s API terms impose developer obligations, including obtaining an API ID for an application, disclosing Telegram API use, and supporting official sponsored messages if the app accesses channel content. These are requirements for developers of third-party clients, not a consumer recipe for scraping. Telegram also notes that bots are third-party services: their developers are not affiliated with Telegram and may receive data when people interact with them. Can new subscribers see old channel posts?
Yes. Telegram’s Channels FAQ says new subscribers can see the entire message history in a channel. That answers what a subscriber can view in Telegram; it does not authorize scraping or copying that history.
