Start by securing the phone, then choose a display refresh behavior, review charging and storage options, and check app permissions. POCO lists Xiaomi HyperOS 3 for the C95 Pro, but says features, apps, and services can vary by software version and model. The official specifications do not establish the phone’s default settings or exact menu paths, so search Settings for each feature and use the options shown on your own build.
1. Set a screen lock and enroll a fingerprint
POCO lists a side fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock. If you want biometric unlocking, first set a secure screen lock and then enroll a fingerprint using the authentication options available on your phone. Face unlock is another listed option, but the official specifications do not establish that it has the same security properties as a passcode or fingerprint.
Search Settings for “fingerprint” or “screen lock” if you need to find the controls. Labels and available choices may differ by software version or region.
2. Choose the refresh behavior you prefer
POCO lists a 6.9-inch display with 1600 × 720 resolution and an adjustable refresh rate up to 120Hz for supported apps. A higher refresh setting can make supported scrolling and movement appear smoother; it does not increase the panel’s resolution.

Search Settings for “refresh rate.” Choose the highest option available if smooth motion is your priority, or a lower or automatic option if your build offers one and you prefer that behavior. POCO does not state the C95 Pro’s default refresh setting or quantify any battery-life difference between options, so treat this as a preference rather than a guaranteed efficiency adjustment.
3. Review charging and battery-related options
POCO rates the battery at 7500mAh typical and lists support for 45W turbo charging. Its global specifications say the power adapter is not included and recommend a Xiaomi 45W adapter; box contents can vary by region, so check what came with your phone. Use a compatible charger rather than assuming any adapter will provide the listed charging capability.

POCO also lists up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. The company says compatibility and performance vary by receiving device, making it an optional capability to check when you need to charge another device—not a setting you need to change during setup. Search Settings for “reverse charging” if you want to see whether a control is available on your build.
4. Check storage before enabling memory extension
POCO lists 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations, with regional availability potentially differing. Its specifications say memory extension uses internal storage (ROM); the listed maximum is up to 16GB on the 8GB version. Because it consumes storage, check your available space before enabling it. It is not a substitute for physical RAM.

POCO also lists separately sold microSD expansion up to 2TB. If you need more space, check the phone’s available storage options and actual card compatibility before buying a card; the specifications do not establish a particular card speed or brand recommendation.

As general first-use housekeeping, review which apps can access location, camera, microphone, and contacts, and which apps may send notifications. Search Settings for the relevant permission or app name, then adjust access according to how you use it. These are general Android-style checks: POCO’s specifications do not confirm specific C95 Pro defaults, prompts, or menu routes.

Settings caveats to keep in mind
- POCO’s official specification page says, “Availability of Xiaomi HyperOS 3 features, apps and services may vary depending on software version and phone model.”
- The C95 Pro is rated IP64 under specified controlled-laboratory conditions, not waterproof. POCO warns that resistance can degrade with wear and says not to immerse the phone or charge it in humid conditions.
- NFC availability may vary by market. Other connectivity options and network bands can also depend on region or operator.
