In Aion 2, Manastones add randomized stats to weapons and armor; Soulstones are for accessories. The available instructions differ by region: Taiwan documentation describes an Enhancement > Manastone engraving flow that rerolls every slot on an item, while Global sources confirm chance-based stats and that Manastones do not transfer to replacement gear. A current Global procedure for removing one stone or its fee is not established.
Which stones go on which equipment?
Use Manastones for slots on weapons and armor. Accessories use Soulstones instead, so a Manastone is not the right choice for every equipment type. The Global launch-client tooltip for Intermediate Manastone (Bound) says it “Can be engraved on Manastone slots in all weapons and armor to imbue them with stats.” Global client item information describes the same equipment scope. How to engrave Manastones
The clearest step-by-step interface reference is for the Taiwan version, so treat its menu path and cost as regional guidance rather than confirmed Global instructions.
- Choose a weapon or armor piece with Manastone slots and have the Manastones you intend to use.
- Open Enhancement > Manastone.
- Select the item and perform the engraving attempt using the interface prompts.
In the documented Taiwan flow, one attempt rolls all of the item’s sockets together; it is not described as filling or changing only one chosen slot. Each attempt is reported to cost 2,000 Kinah plus the supplied stones. The guide cautions that these details have not been verified for other regions. Taiwan guide

What determines the result?
Global launch-client item data says the stat type and value are determined by chance. A specific Manastone therefore does not guarantee a particular stat or value. Global item information
NCSoft’s Korean probability disclosure, version 20260922200504, reports a 50% basic, 35% high, and 15% top-quality distribution for the covered mid/high non-Abyss Manastones. It also lists a 0.075% chance per Superior Manastone for the top-tier +100 Damage Amplification result. How to replace Manastones
For Global, transfer guidance says Manastones do not carry over when transferring to a receiving item. Plan to obtain new stones for replacement gear rather than assuming your existing engravings will move with it. The same guidance lists Soulstones, Theostones, Potential, and Soul Fuse as non-transferring as well. Global transfer guide
If you are deciding whether to engrave an item you expect to replace soon, weigh the cost and value of the stones against that non-transfer rule. The Taiwan-reported 2,000 Kinah attempt cost is not confirmed for Global.

Can you remove one Manastone?
A current Global source reviewed here does not establish an individual removal command, whether a removed stone is returned, or whether removal costs Kinah or another item. Check the live interface and current notes for your region before acting. The Taiwan documentation describes whole-item rerolls, not a confirmed Global single-stone removal procedure.
Do not rely on older Aion or Aion Classic directions involving a “Remove Manastone” menu, remover NPC, fasteners, or Boost/Modify steps: those instructions describe a different game’s system, not verified Aion 2 controls.
