First check Fluxguard’s Page View: is there a capture from after the site changed, and does that capture contain the changed content? If there is no new capture, investigate the crawl schedule or run a crawl manually. If the capture is missing the content, check rendering, login, and interaction steps. If the content is present but no new version appears, check the comparison strategy and filters. If the version or diff shows the change but you received no email, check notification settings.
Start by identifying where the change went missing
A change can be missed at four different points: the crawl did not run, the crawl ran but did not capture the relevant page state, the capture exists but did not trigger a comparison, or the comparison was recorded but its alert was not delivered. A misleading version display can also make a successful capture look incomplete.
- Open the target page’s history in Page View and confirm the baseline is the intended URL, state, and content.
- Look for a capture made after the site changed.
- Inspect that capture’s screenshot, extracted text, HTML, and network details to see whether the changed element is present.
- Only after confirming the capture, investigate comparison rules or alert delivery.
Fluxguard’s visual monitoring guide describes the initial crawl as collecting a baseline that includes a screenshot, complete HTML, extracted text, and a HAR network profile. Its console guide describes Page View as retaining previous captures and related evidence. See Fluxguard’s visual monitoring guide and console walkthrough.
If no new capture exists
Run a manual crawl
Start another crawl from the session view after a known change, then compare it with the prior capture. This separates a crawl problem from a comparison problem: without a later capture, there is nothing new for Fluxguard to compare. The official monitoring tutorial documents starting another crawl from the session view.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Check the session schedule and frequency
Open Session Settings and verify the crawl frequency and monitoring controls for the session. Confirm that a crawl was scheduled after the source page changed; a configured schedule cannot detect a change before its next crawl. Fluxguard documents multiple frequency options, and its frequency guide says very fast frequencies require site verification by email. Check the current console for the available options and any verification requirement: Fluxguard’s frequency guide.
If a capture exists but omits the changed content
Check JavaScript rendering and page state
A reachable URL does not prove that the capture contains the content a person sees. Fluxguard’s FAQ notes that much current web content loads through JavaScript and describes using a full browser. Inspect the captured artifacts for the target content. If it appears only after a click, form submission, login, or multi-page sequence, review the configured actions and session order so the crawl reaches the same state. Review filters, selectors, and network blocks
Inspect inclusion and exclusion filters, CSS selectors, keyword focus, network blocks, selector ignores, and attribute ignores. A broad exclusion may suppress the changed region; blocking a script or resource may prevent that region from rendering at all. Fluxguard’s release notes caution that removing script tags can prevent scripts from executing and keep the page from fully rendering. Check the scope of each rule—account, session, or page—and change one rule at a time before recrawling.
- Filters for specific page areas explains monitoring selected regions.
- Network blocks describes blocking network activity.
- Reducing false positives covers controls for irrelevant updates.
- Fluxguard’s release notes include the caution about removing script tags.
Fluxguard notes that selectors may not work on every page. Its Visual Selector depends on the most recently captured version and may fail on some pages; complete an initial crawl first, then use a manual selector method if the visual tool does not work. Details are in the FAQ and page-area filtering guide.

If the capture contains the change but Fluxguard recorded no new version
Match the primary comparison trigger to the change
Text comparison is suited to changed visible wording; HTML or DOM comparison can surface markup and attribute changes; visual comparison is for pixel, image, or CSS differences; and network comparison can flag new or removed resource activity. Choose the strategy that observes the change you care about, then verify which primary trigger is configured. Fluxguard describes some HTML and network analyses as secondary by default after its primary strategy records a version, so the presence of those analyses does not necessarily mean they will trigger one independently.
Fluxguard’s tutorial says its default primary strategy looks for changes to extracted text—the text end users see. If the expected change is visual rather than textual, for example, verify that the configured trigger fits that difference. For a controlled visual check, its guide recommends choosing or creating a page with a visible change, recrawling, and inspecting the visual diff. See the monitoring tutorial and visual monitoring guide.

Use filters to reduce noise without hiding the target
Dynamic dates, banners, sidebars, tracking scripts, and marketing resources can create irrelevant updates. False-positive controls can help, but they do not establish that a meaningful change was captured. After adjusting a filter or threshold, recrawl and inspect the diff. Prefer a narrow rule, confirm whether it applies at the account, session, or page level, and avoid changing several controls at once. The false-positive guide and specific-area guide describe these controls.
If the diff shows the change but no alert arrived
If Page View or version history shows the expected change, crawling and comparison may have succeeded; investigate delivery separately. Check account alert frequency and the configured delivery method or integration. Fluxguard’s console tutorial describes account settings for email frequency, and its visual monitoring guide mentions webhooks. Public documentation does not establish the delivery state of an individual account, so confirm that state in your console.

If the version view appears wrong
A comparison viewer is not always a faithful live rendering of the page. Fluxguard says its version and comparison views approximate underlying HTML in iframes and remove JavaScript and some resources to provide a tamper-free view. If the display seems to omit or distort a change, inspect the captured HTML, extracted text, screenshot, and network details before deciding that the crawl failed. See the Fluxguard FAQ and console walkthrough.

If you need a one-off screenshot to inspect what a URL returns, ScreenshotNeo can capture a page with one GET request. It is a screenshot API and MCP server, not a replacement for Fluxguard’s scheduled change monitoring: use it to obtain a screenshot, then compare it with your own process.
cURL:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request options. It removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Frequently Asked Questions
Does a successful crawl automatically mean Fluxguard will record a new version?
No. A crawl can produce a capture without meeting the configured comparison trigger; inspect the captured evidence and primary strategy.
