To select a device in Puppeteer, start page.waitForDevicePrompt() before triggering the page’s device request, wait for a matching entry with prompt.waitForDevice(), then pass that entry to prompt.select(). To dismiss the prompt instead, call prompt.cancel().
How to wait for a device prompt without missing it
Register the wait before the action that makes the page request a device. waitForDevicePrompt() listens for an upcoming prompt; it does not return a prompt that is already active. Pairing the wait and the triggering action in Promise.all() prevents the click from racing ahead of prompt capture.
The following example follows Puppeteer’s documented WebBluetooth-style flow. Replace the selector and device-name test with the ones used by your page and test environment:
const [devicePrompt] = await Promise.all([
page.waitForDevicePrompt(),
page.click('#connect-bluetooth'),
]);
const device = await devicePrompt.waitForDevice(({ name }) =>
name.includes('My Device'),
);
await devicePrompt.select(device);
The page must expose an action that initiates the request. The sample assumes the page is already loaded and page is a Puppeteer Page.

How to choose a device from the Puppeteer prompt
prompt.waitForDevice(filter, options?) evaluates your predicate against prompt device entries and resolves with the first matching entry. The predicate receives a DeviceRequestPromptDevice; optional wait-timeout options let you bound how long to wait. Use a match that distinguishes the intended device in your environment. The documentation’s example checks whether the name contains My Device, but it does not prescribe a universal matching rule.
You can inspect prompt.devices for the current read-only list of selectable entries. Once you have the intended entry, pass that entry from this prompt to prompt.select(device).

Troubleshooting device selection
The prompt wait never resolves
Make sure waitForDevicePrompt() starts before the page action that requests a device. Also verify that the action actually triggers a device request; the method waits for a prompt, not merely for a click to complete.
The device wait never finds a match
Check the entries currently available through prompt.devices and adjust the predicate to match the properties exposed for the intended entry. A name substring is only an example, not a guaranteed identifier. Set a suitable timeout through the optional wait-timeout options if the automation should stop waiting rather than wait indefinitely.

The prompt was already open
waitForDevicePrompt() will not return an already-active prompt. Arrange for Puppeteer to begin waiting before the page initiates its request.
The test machine has no matching device
The API reference does not specify a required hardware model. Whether a device is available depends on the application and test environment; confirm that the environment can present the device your page is requesting.
