Use await elementHandle.boundingBox() to read an element’s geometry. It returns a BoundingBox or null; check for null before accessing coordinates because an element outside the layout, such as one with display: none, has no bounding box.
Get the bounding box
Wait for a selector to produce an ElementHandle, then await its boundingBox() method:

console.log(box.x, box.y, box.width, box.height);The documented signature is boundingBox(): Promise<BoundingBox | null>. The first check handles a missing selector result; the second handles a found element that is not part of layout. See the Puppeteer ElementHandle.boundingBox() reference.
Understand the returned coordinates
Puppeteer documents the box as relative to the main frame. Its properties provide the position and dimensions: x, y, width, and height. The method reference does not establish that these are document coordinates, so do not treat them as page-scroll coordinates without an applicable documented basis.

If you use the values for a page mouse operation, Puppeteer describes mouse coordinates as main-frame CSS pixels relative to the viewport’s upper-left corner. Measurement and interaction are separate moments: if the page changes between them, the element may move or disappear. See the Puppeteer Mouse reference.
Why can boundingBox() return null?
A null result means the element is not part of layout. Puppeteer gives display: none as an example. Keep the null check even when the selector matched; a valid handle does not guarantee a layout box.

If you expected a box, inspect whether the element is currently rendered and whether page state has changed since you selected it. Do not read x, y, width, or height until you have confirmed the result is non-null.
Use a bounding box or capture the element?
boundingBox() is for inspecting geometry. If your goal is an image of the element, Puppeteer provides ElementHandle.screenshot() instead. Its guide says it tries to scroll the element into view by default if it is hidden; that is screenshot behavior and does not change the nullable result documented for boundingBox(). Yes. Await it; the documented return type is Promise<BoundingBox | null>.

Does boundingBox() scroll the element into view?
The method reference does not promise that behavior. Puppeteer’s separate element screenshot guide says ElementHandle.screenshot() tries to scroll a hidden element into view by default.
