Track partner-program changes by monitoring the program’s own terms, commission and payout pages, dashboard, changelog, and notices—not by relying on a third-party alert alone. Keep a dated record of the relevant sources, compare each alert with the previous terms, and confirm the change and its effective date before updating links or promotions.
What to track in each partner program
A commission-rate change is only one kind of change that can affect your earnings or compliance. For every active program, identify the authoritative pages and notices that govern your participation.
- Commission and attribution: rates, eligible products or actions, attribution rules, and cookie or referral windows.
- Payout: thresholds, timing, lock or validation periods, and payment conditions.
- Eligibility and restrictions: excluded territories, products, traffic sources, and promotional methods.
- Timing and scope: the announcement date, effective date, affected affiliates or regions, and any deadline for replacing links or changing promotions.
Record the official agreement, commission or payout page, partner dashboard, and any program changelog or notice channel. Keep the source URL and the date you checked it. Where the program and applicable rules allow, preserve a dated copy or version history so you can compare the wording later.
Build a repeatable monitoring workflow
- Inventory your programs. For each one, record its official terms, commission or payout page, dashboard, changelog, and contact or notice channel. Note which sources require sign-in.
- Subscribe to official updates. Turn on email, in-dashboard, network, changelog, or feed notices where available. HubSpot’s Affiliate Program Agreement, last modified February 23, 2026, says updates may be communicated electronically through the Affiliate Tool or email. That is an example of one program’s process, not a guarantee about other programs.
- Set an appropriate review cadence. Check high-impact programs more often than low-impact ones, and account for how quickly you could change a promotion if terms shift. There is no evidence-based interval that fits every program. PageCrawl describes scheduled checks and instant, daily, or weekly notifications; confirm the current availability and settings before relying on them.
- Monitor relevant content. For public pages, a page monitor can watch terms and rate tables for changes. Configure it to focus on meaningful clauses or values where possible, rather than every layout or navigation change. PageCrawl describes filtering for terms-relevant changes and authenticated-page monitoring; these are vendor-described features, not an independent performance evaluation.
- Verify and document each alert. Compare the new wording with your dated record, find the effective date and scope, and confirm the change in an official notice or the live agreement. Then update your records and, if required, your links, disclosures, and promotion plans.
How to evaluate a page-monitoring service
A monitor is an alerting layer, not the authority on what a program requires. Before depending on one, check whether it can cover the pages you need and whether its history and notifications suit your workflow.

| What to compare | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Coverage | Can it check public pages and, if needed, authenticated dashboards? How are credentials handled, and can access be maintained reliably? |
| Change selection | Can you focus on specific terms, rates, or clauses and reduce alerts caused by layout changes? |
| History and alerts | Does it retain before-and-after text or diffs? Which notification channels and schedules are available? |
| Access and cost | What check frequency is included, and what plan or access level is required for the cadence you need? |
PageCrawl’s product page says it can watch affiliate terms for changes to commission rates, cookie windows, and payout rules. Its reviewed page says checks more frequent than hourly require a paid plan and describes instant or digest notifications. Treat those as PageCrawl’s product claims and verify current features and pricing directly; a monitor’s alert still needs to be checked against the program’s current terms.
Confirm deadlines and geography before acting
Do not assume that every program gives affiliates the same notice or the same time to update links. Google Workspace’s reviewed Affiliate Program terms for LATAM say material changes may be communicated through the network service or in writing, including email. Those terms also say outdated tracking links or incentives must stop being used within 30 days, or another similarly reasonable timeframe agreed by the parties. This is a region-specific example, not a universal deadline; check the agreement that applies to your program and territory.

When a change is announced, distinguish the date it was posted from the date it takes effect. Check whether it applies to all affiliates, only a territory or product, and whether existing referrals or pending commissions are treated differently. If the notice and live terms appear inconsistent, contact the program or network for clarification and retain the response.
Use changelogs as context, not as a substitute for current terms
A dated changelog can help explain what changed and when, but confirm any operational decision against the live agreement or direct notice. For example, Automattic’s Creator Program changelog entry dated March 24, 2026, described updated Pressable terms, including 100% of the first payment on each referred sale up to $300 and a 45-day payout locking period. Its July 22, 2025, entry said Premium Themes became eligible for affiliate promotion, with 30% for a user’s first paid purchase and 10% for returning customers. These are dated, program-specific examples; do not treat them as current rates without checking the applicable terms.

If you need a dated visual record of a public terms page, you can capture one with ScreenshotNeo. It is a screenshot API, not a program-change monitor: use it to save a snapshot when you check a page, and use a monitor or official notices to detect changes between checks. Its API supports a GET request with the page URL; see the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/affiliate-terms -o terms.webpReplace the example URL with the public terms page you want to capture. ScreenshotNeo removes known consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, and only clean shots are billed; bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits cost nothing. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
