PC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchIf ChangeTower is not detecting a change, first check that the monitor targets the exact page and that its rule and selected page area include the changed content. Then check whether the latest run could access and render that content, when the next check is scheduled, and whether alerts are reaching the right destination. A monitor compares later checks with the baseline captured when it was created, so no alert before a qualifying change is found can be normal.
1. Confirm the monitor’s URL and baseline
Open the monitor and verify its URL points to the page where the change appears—not just the site’s homepage. If you are watching a product detail, pricing, policy, or account page, use that page’s full URL. ChangeTower describes monitors as comparing later checks with the initial snapshot; the first alert arrives only after a qualifying change is detected. ChangeTower’s guide to creating a first monitor explains this baseline behavior.
- Check that the URL is the intended page and that it still loads the relevant information.
- Compare the latest snapshot with the original baseline, if snapshots are available for the monitor.
- If the content was already present when the baseline was created, ChangeTower may have no new change to report.
2. Make sure the detection rule matches the change
ChangeTower offers broad content change detection, keyword monitoring, and Smart Monitor criteria. A rule focused on a particular phrase or natural-language condition can miss a different kind of change even when the page itself is being checked. ChangeTower’s monitor setup guidance describes these detection choices.
- Content change: Use when changes across the monitored content matter, rather than one specific phrase.
- Keyword monitoring: Check that the words or phrases you entered are the ones expected to appear or disappear.
- Smart Monitor: Review the natural-language condition and make sure it describes the change you want to detect.
If the rule is narrow, revise it to include the actual change. Consider how the monitor should behave when the wording changes but the underlying information does not.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
3. Check the selected area and ignored elements
A monitor can be limited to selected parts of a page, and frequently changing areas can be ignored to reduce noisy alerts. Either setting can exclude the content you expect it to track. Review the configured page area and ignored elements, then confirm the changed text is inside the monitored area and is not excluded. ChangeTower’s Help Center covers selective monitoring and related setup topics.
- If the change is outside the selected area, expand or change the monitored area.
- If the changed element is on an ignore list, remove it from that list if it is important to track.
- Keep unrelated rotating banners or feeds excluded when they would otherwise create unwanted alerts.
4. Verify that ChangeTower can access and render the content
ChangeTower says its checks load pages in a real browser and wait for rendering, including content added after the initial HTML by JavaScript or an API. If the information depends on a login, cookie choice, location, or another interactive state, configure manual user actions to replay the required steps before a check. ChangeTower says that a login is not necessarily a blocker when the interaction can be recorded, but a site that blocks automated traffic outright cannot be monitored. These are vendor-documented capabilities and limits, not an independent test. See the ChangeTower FAQ.

- Open the latest snapshot or run details and look for an access, loading, or rendering problem.
- Check whether the target content appears only after a login, consent choice, click, or other interaction.
- If the site blocks automated access outright, changing the detection rule will not solve the access problem.
5. Review the schedule and expected detection delay
ChangeTower’s schedule help lists check intervals from every five minutes through every 30 days. Available frequencies can depend on the account’s plan, so check the current monitor settings and plan. Change a monitor’s interval in its Details settings; according to ChangeTower, edits to an existing schedule apply from the next check. A change made just after a check may therefore wait until the next scheduled run. Several edits between checks may be grouped into one comparison. See ChangeTower’s schedule guidance.
- Open the monitor’s Details settings.
- Review the current interval and compare it with the delay you can tolerate.
- Select an available interval and check the monitor again after its next run.
6. Separate change capture from alert delivery
A change can be captured without the expected person or channel receiving a notification. Check the monitor’s notification settings independently of its detection rule: confirm email alerts are enabled, the recipient is correct, and any supported Slack route is configured as intended. ChangeTower discusses notification configuration in its FAQ and Help Center.

7. Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you see | Likely area to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No alert, but no recent check is shown | Schedule or monitor run | Review the interval in Details and wait for the next scheduled check. |
| A recent check exists, but the changed content is absent from its snapshot | URL, page access, rendering, or interactive state | Confirm the exact page and investigate whether the content needs JavaScript rendering, login, consent, or another recorded action. |
| The snapshot includes the change, but there is no alert | Baseline, detection rule, or selected area | Compare the result with the baseline; review the content, keyword, or Smart Monitor criterion and check whether the relevant area is included. |
| The change appears captured, but the expected person did not hear about it | Notification delivery | Check enabled email notifications, the recipient, and the configured supported Slack route. |
8. What to send support if it still misses a change
ChangeTower’s support materials cover related setup and troubleshooting subjects, but do not establish one universal fix for every missed change. If the problem persists, provide enough detail to distinguish scope, access, timing, and delivery issues. Check monitor notifications and snapshots for the last successful run or an access failure, then include:
- The exact page URL.
- The monitor type and its criteria.
- The selected page area and any ignored elements.
- The schedule and approximate time the page changed.
- The last check time and any loading or access error shown.
Use the ChangeTower Help Center to locate its support options.
