To run a Marathi radio channel continuously on YouTube, send an audio-and-video program feed to YouTube Live through an encoder—or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. Before launch, check that your channel is eligible, confirm that your music and visuals are cleared for YouTube use in the territories you serve, and test the complete stream. If you use a local encoder, its computer, playback source, power and internet connection must remain available.
Before you build the broadcast
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old. Check your channel’s status in YouTube Studio before scheduling or promoting the broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Clear the music and other material
Do not assume that a song being available online, or having permission to play it on radio, automatically clears it for a YouTube livestream. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the broadcaster to hold the necessary rights for use on Google services worldwide, including music rights involving artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. The permissions needed depend on the recording, composition, territories and whether the program will also be archived. Keep documentation and confirm that it covers the intended use with the relevant rights holders or qualified counsel. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions explain the broadcaster’s obligations.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can lead to a placeholder image, warning, interruption or termination—even when you have a license. For licensed third-party material, ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel. An archived stream may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Creator Music is not a blanket route for a radio-style live broadcast: YouTube’s stated usage details limit its licensing and revenue-sharing tracks to long-form videos, not live streams. Check YouTube’s current policy before relying on any music program for a particular format.
Set up a continuous stream with an encoder
This approach sends a live audio-and-video feed from streaming software or hardware to YouTube. A static image or simple visual can accompany the Marathi audio, but YouTube does not require a still image. Use only visuals you have permission to broadcast.

- Prepare the program. Assemble the music, speech, jingles and visuals, and verify that rights cover YouTube live use and any archive in your target territories. For a playlist, test transitions and confirm that playback will continue without operator intervention.
- Create the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select a stream. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream.
- Protect the stream key. Enter the URL and key in your encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots.
- Configure the encoder. YouTube recommends RTMPS when available, which encrypts the connection. For encoder settings, YouTube recommends CBR, a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds), and stereo AAC audio at 128 Kbps and 44.1 kHz. Choose video resolution and bitrate based on the visual content and a stable upload connection; do not set a bitrate your connection cannot sustain. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrate and resolution guidance.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed, the picture is correct, and the audio is audible and balanced. Start the public broadcast in Live Control Room when the preview is ready. YouTube’s encoder workflow is described in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Test and monitor. Before announcing the channel, run a test and watch the output on another device. Check audio, visuals, stream status and network stability. During the broadcast, monitor the encoder and YouTube’s live status rather than assuming a successful start means it will remain uninterrupted. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- Keep the local system running. For a local encoder, the computer or hardware encoder, program playback, power and internet must stay available for the intended duration. Plan how an operator will respond to a crash, loss of connection, power outage or stream restart.
Plan for archives and interruptions
YouTube can automatically archive streams under 12 hours, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That is not a guarantee that any shorter stream will be preserved. If keeping the program matters, make a local recording and check that it is actually being written and has enough storage. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
For a broadcast that runs beyond 12 hours, decide in advance whether to split it into shorter streams, how to announce any handoff, and who will restart the encoder if needed. A restart can help with recovery but may affect continuity and archiving; test the procedure before relying on it. Copyright scans can also interrupt a stream independently of encoder or network health.

Common problems and fixes
- You cannot start the stream: Recheck channel verification, age eligibility and live-stream restrictions in YouTube Studio. If the channel has a restriction, resolve it before planning a continuous broadcast.
- YouTube receives no feed: Check that the encoder is using the correct stream URL and key, is actively streaming, and can reach the network. If you regenerate or change the key, update the encoder too.
- The broadcast drops or stutters: Check the encoder’s status and connection, and ensure the selected video bitrate is sustainable on the available upload connection. Reduce video demands if the connection cannot carry the configured feed reliably.
- There is no audio or it sounds wrong: Check that the intended audio source is selected and playing, then verify the encoder’s audio output and listen to the live preview from another device. Use YouTube’s recommended stereo AAC settings as a starting point.
- The stream is interrupted despite permission: YouTube may identify third-party content during a live stream. Contact the rights owner about allowlisting the channel, and confirm that the permission covers the exact recording, composition, territories and use.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: Streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Use a local recording when preservation matters, and verify the recording rather than relying only on YouTube’s archive.
Costs and operating trade-offs
A local encoder avoids a cloud-streaming subscription but leaves power, internet, playback continuity, monitoring and recovery to the operator. YouTube does not prescribe a dedicated computer or specific model. A cloud loop shifts the always-on playback and recovery work to a hosted service but has a recurring fee. Compare the actual hardware and connection costs with the service price for your own schedule; no universal cost or reliability figure follows from YouTube’s setup guidance.
