To run recorded yoga classes as a continuous YouTube Live stream, create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, then send a looping playlist of your videos to it from encoder software on a computer or from a cloud playout service. YouTube does not loop videos continuously from Studio by itself. Before going live, enable livestreaming, protect your stream key, test the picture and sound, and confirm you have rights for every class, performer and music track.
Choose how the recorded classes will reach YouTube
YouTube Live receives a continuing feed from streaming encoder software or hardware. The encoder sends that feed to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key created in Live Control Room. The videos and looping behavior must come from the encoder workflow or a playout service; creating a stream in Studio alone does not make uploaded classes repeat.
| Workflow | Who runs the feed | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Local computer and encoder | You maintain the computer, encoder, video files, power and internet connection. | Configure the software to play and repeat the playlist, and plan for interruptions if the computer, power, network or encoder stops. |
| Cloud playout service | A provider runs a cloud-based feed from your uploaded videos. | Confirm looping, file handling, stream-key security, privacy controls, support, regional availability, price and what recovery or uptime terms are actually included. |
YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre as an example of a cloud-based service for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. A directory listing is not an endorsement or a guarantee of uptime, availability in India, or particular service terms. Compare providers on the details that matter to your channel.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesPrepare your YouTube channel before launch
- Verify the channel and check livestream eligibility. YouTube’s computer livestream guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enabling livestreaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until launch day. See YouTube’s livestreaming setup guidance.
- Create an encoder stream in Live Control Room. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions to create the stream and obtain the stream URL and stream key.
- Keep the stream key private. YouTube describes the key as the stream’s password and address. Enter it only in the encoder or service you intend to use. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder before streaming again. See YouTube’s stream settings guidance.
- Set viewer access and stream options. Choose the appropriate privacy setting and review controls such as DVR in Live Control Room. Decide whether viewers should find the stream publicly, access it by link, or not see it while you test.
Build and configure the recorded-class feed
For a local encoder
- Collect the class files you are authorized to stream, and place them in the order you want viewers to see them. Check that video and audio play correctly before adding them to a playlist.
- In your encoder, create a scene or source using the class video files. Add them to a playlist and enable the software’s repeat or loop option. Software interfaces differ, so verify the behavior with the exact application you choose; YouTube’s encoder documentation explains how to connect an encoder, not how every program implements playlists.
- Enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key in the encoder’s streaming destination or account settings. Use YouTube’s recommended encoder settings for the resolution and frame rate of your source, and confirm the encoder is sending a stable feed before scheduling a public launch.
- Keep the computer awake and the encoder running for the duration of the broadcast. Disable sleep or automatic shutdown, connect to reliable power, and avoid relying on a home connection or computer that may be switched off. A local setup’s continuity depends on the host, encoder, power and network.
For a cloud playout service
- Review the provider’s supported file formats, playlist and repeat controls, storage limits, regional availability, service terms and support arrangements before uploading.
- Upload the authorized class files and arrange them into a playlist. Confirm that the service is configured to repeat or otherwise sustain a feed for the intended schedule.
- Enter the YouTube stream URL and key in the provider’s destination settings, taking care not to expose the key in public notes or screenshots.
- Use the provider’s preview or a private YouTube test to check that the playlist transitions as expected and that audio stays audible and synchronized.
Check bitrate, connection and stream health
YouTube advises that the total streaming bitrate should remain within your available upload capacity and recommends keeping 20% headroom. For example, if the encoder’s total bitrate is 10 Mbps, plan for at least 12.5 Mbps of available upload capacity rather than using a connection whose full capacity is only 10 Mbps. The headroom is for network variation; it is not a guarantee against outages. See YouTube’s network and bitrate guidance.

- Use a reliable connection and test at the bitrate you intend to stream, not just with a low-bitrate preview.
- In Live Control Room, preview the incoming stream and check the stream-health indicators before sharing the public link.
- Watch a representative section with movement and listen closely to quiet instruction, breathing cues and any background music. A yoga class can appear to stream normally while speech is too quiet or music is distorted.
- Monitor the stream’s audio and video continuously during operation. YouTube recommends advance setup, previewing and ongoing monitoring in its livestreaming tips.
Clear rights for the classes, performances and music
Before streaming, check that your permissions cover the actual uses: live transmission to YouTube, the territories where viewers may watch, and any archive or replay that results. Confirm rights for the class recording, instructors and other performers, music composition and sound recording, and third-party visuals. Owning or having permission to use a video file does not by itself establish that every embedded song or performance is cleared for a public livestream.
YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. The terms also state that live content must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines. Review the current YouTube Terms of Service and the agreements that apply to your recordings.

YouTube also says a stream can be interrupted even when you are licensed if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel. See YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming with third-party content.

Understand what a 24/7 broadcast preserves
A continuous livestream is not a dependable substitute for publishing separate on-demand class videos. YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its DVR guidance warns that DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Do not promise viewers that an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will remain fully rewindable or be saved as a complete archive. For reliable access to individual classes after the live session, publish the recordings separately. See YouTube’s encoder help and YouTube’s DVR guidance.
Troubleshoot common interruptions and quality problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Live Control Room does not receive a stream | Livestreaming is not enabled, the stream URL or key is wrong, or the encoder has not started sending. | Check channel eligibility and activation, verify the encoder destination against the current Live Control Room details, then restart the encoder feed. |
| Stream health reports instability or viewers see buffering | Available upload capacity is insufficient or fluctuating, or the connection is unreliable. | Measure available upload capacity while the encoder runs, keep YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and reduce the encoder’s total bitrate if needed. |
| Video or audio stops when a class ends | The playlist may not be set to repeat, or a file may have ended unexpectedly. | Check the playlist order and loop setting in the encoder or playout service, then test the transition through the end of a class. |
| Speech is hard to hear or music overwhelms instruction | Class audio levels may vary, or a test did not include representative quiet sections. | Listen to the stream itself, adjust source levels in the production workflow, and test quiet instruction and music before going public. |
| Stream is replaced, warned or terminated | YouTube may have detected third-party material, or a rights owner may not have allowlisted the channel. | Review the warning, identify the matched content and confirm that your permissions cover livestream use and any required channel allowlisting. Remove or replace uncleared material before resuming. |
| Old portions cannot be rewound or the whole broadcast is unavailable afterward | Long streams can have limited DVR, and archive behavior is not equivalent to a permanent class library. | Use separate on-demand uploads for dependable class access instead of relying on a continuous stream’s replay. |
