ProPresenter is the presentation and capture component of the setup; your camera, audio console, computer, and streaming destination depend on what your production needs.
Plan what the stream should show
Decide whether viewers need slides and media, camera video, or a combination. In ProPresenter, open Screens > Configure Screens to configure Audience and Stage screens. Audience screens carry presentation content such as slides and media; Stage screens are intended for information shown to performers or operators. The selected screen and its active Look and layers determine what the capture workflow sends.
An output connects a configured ProPresenter screen to a physical or digital destination. For streaming, choose the screen that contains the viewer-facing composition. Capture documentation describes capturing one ProPresenter screen at a time, so do not assume that selecting a screen will combine multiple separate outputs. Add a camera when the stream needs live video
ProPresenter needs to receive the camera feed as a video input before that feed can be used in a presentation. The appropriate connection depends on your camera output, computer, operating system, and production network; no one capture device or connection method is required for every setup.

- Connect the camera or video source using a compatible path. Renewed Vision documents USB capture devices, SDI interfaces, NDI sources, and Syphon on macOS. Its examples include Elgato CamLink for USB capture and DeckLink Duo for SDI; examples are not a guarantee of compatibility with every computer or camera.
- In ProPresenter, open Settings > Inputs, add a Video Input, select the source, and configure any associated audio as needed.
- Verify the source is connected and recognized. Then trigger it from the Video Input Playlist or use it on a slide or action, depending on the intended production.
- Check that the selected Audience screen and active Look actually include the camera where you expect it. Test both the image and any audio path before the event.
Confirm connector, resolution, and operating-system requirements with the camera, capture-device, and computer documentation before purchasing or wiring equipment. Renewed Vision’s procedure is in Setting Up A Video Input in ProPresenter.
Route audio for the room and the stream
Choose whether the stream should contain ProPresenter media audio, a dedicated console mix, or both. A good room mix is not automatically the right stream mix: the signal path depends on how the console and ProPresenter are connected. Use Capture Settings’ audio routing controls, then monitor the actual stream mix and check sync between sound and picture.

Example: separate console return for the stream
Renewed Vision documents one configuration for simultaneous house and stream audio: assign the console return to ProPresenter internal channels 3 and 4, select those channels for capture, and disable channels 1 and 2 for capture in that scenario. The purpose is to avoid doubling playback audio that is already routed through the house console. This is an example topology, not a universal channel assignment; adapt it to your console and signal routing. Details are in Renewed Vision’s simultaneous house and livestream audio instructions.
Configure capture and choose a destination
ProPresenter 7 documentation describes direct RTMP streaming and recording, along with a separate Resi integration. RTMP is a general destination route: obtain the server address and stream key from the streaming provider you have chosen. The reviewed ProPresenter instructions do not establish current ingest settings for a particular social platform, so follow that provider’s current setup instructions rather than assuming one set of fields or requirements fits every destination. Keep stream keys private.

- Open Screens > Capture Settings or use the Live button to access capture controls.
- Select the configured Audience or Stage screen intended for viewers. Capture is documented for one ProPresenter screen at a time.
- Choose the destination type and enter the destination details supplied by your provider, if using RTMP. Set capture options to match the destination and production requirements.
- Review audio routing and verify the selected screen, Look, layers, and camera inputs before starting.
- Start streaming from Capture Settings, the Live button, or Screens > Start Streaming. The guide describes a capture progress indicator in the Preview window; monitor it and confirm the destination is receiving the intended feed.
For Resi, Renewed Vision documents selecting Resi as the destination after account and integration setup. The stream is sent to Resi for processing and delivery to configured destinations. Check Resi’s current account requirements and destination options with Resi. See Renewed Vision’s RTMP streaming and recording guide and Resi setup instructions.
Rehearse before going live
- Confirm the intended Audience or Stage screen is selected for capture.
- Check the active Look and layers, including whether slides, media, and camera video are visible as intended.
- Verify camera sources are connected and recognized, and inspect the image in the actual output.
- Listen to the stream audio path; confirm the right mix is present and that playback is not doubled.
- Check picture-and-audio sync and confirm the destination receives the correct feed before the event begins.
- Keep the provider’s stream key private and use its current ingest details.
Common problems and fixes
The stream shows the wrong screen or content
Check the screen selected in Capture Settings, then inspect the Audience or Stage configuration and active Look. A Stage screen may contain operator or performer information rather than the viewer-facing presentation.

The camera input is missing or black
Check that the source is connected and recognized, then revisit Settings > Inputs and confirm the correct Video Input is selected. Verify the camera output, connection path, computer compatibility, and resolution requirements against the relevant device documentation.
The stream has no audio or doubled audio
Inspect Capture Settings’ audio routing and confirm which ProPresenter channels are enabled for capture. If a console return is in use, trace whether media audio is already reaching the console and adjust the capture routing for that topology. Monitor the resulting stream mix rather than relying on the room speakers alone.

The destination does not receive the stream
Check that the selected destination type and provider-supplied RTMP details are correct, including the stream key. Confirm with the provider that its current ingest settings match the configured destination; the ProPresenter documentation does not specify a universal configuration for named platforms.

Renewed Vision’s user guide identifies its documented content as current through ProPresenter 7.12. Menu labels and device compatibility may differ in later releases, so check the guide and your installed version before following version-specific steps. The available documentation does not establish current ProPresenter pricing, every supported capture-card model, exact system requirements, provider-specific RTMP settings, or Resi commercial terms.
