The best cloud multistreaming software depends on how you produce your show. Choose a browser studio such as StreamYard or Restream Studio if you want to bring guests on and manage a live show without a separate encoder. Choose Restream or Castr if you want to keep using OBS or another encoder and have a cloud service relay its feed to multiple destinations. Castr is especially worth evaluating when custom endpoints, an embedded player, or monitoring matter. These are workflow-based recommendations, not a universal performance ranking: the available figures are vendor-published features and limits, not independent reliability tests.
How cloud multistreaming works
A multistreaming service receives one live contribution feed and distributes it to the destinations you connect. That can save you from sending a separate outgoing stream from your computer to every platform. Castr describes this as taking “one contribution feed” and fanning it out; Restream describes broadcasting from streaming software such as OBS to multiple platforms.
Cloud distribution is not the same as a browser production studio. A studio helps create the show—such as arranging a camera feed, guests, and graphics—while a relay takes a feed made by a studio or encoder and forwards it. Some services offer both approaches. Each destination may process the incoming stream differently, so do not assume every platform will show identical quality, chat, or latency.
Best options by workflow
| Service | Best fit | What the cited vendor pages establish | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Restream | Creators who want to keep OBS or another third-party encoder, or use a browser Studio. | Restream documents third-party software support, a web Studio, custom RTMP, cross-platform chat, guest links for up to 10 participants, and a free option to select 2 of 30+ social channels. Its pricing FAQ says Studio streaming at 1080p is available on Professional. | Paid destination limits and plan features vary. The 1080p statement is specific to Studio on the plan named in its FAQ; custom software has no Restream-imposed resolution restriction, but destinations can impose their own. |
| StreamYard | Creators who want a browser-led studio and a modest number of destinations. | Its Help Center says multistreaming is available on paid plans: 3 destinations on Core, 8 on Advanced, and 10 on Business. It documents native destinations and custom RTMP for other services that accept an RTMP feed. | Confirm current plan limits and guest or seat allowances before subscribing. The cited vendor article describes a browser studio; its recommendation language is the vendor’s view, not comparative testing. |
| Castr | Encoder-led productions needing custom outputs, a website player, monitoring, or a higher published destination count. | Its page describes an RTMP, SRT, or WHIP encoder feed distributed to destinations, plus custom RTMP/SRT outputs, an embedded player, stream-health monitoring, and analytics. Published account-wide limits are 6 on Starter, 10 on Standard, 20 on Premium, and 30 on Ultra and Events. | Check the account-wide destination count and which features belong to the plan. Castr says transcoding and adaptive bitrate are available on Premium and higher; its workflow expects an encoder feed or Castr cloud production. |
Which service should you choose?
Choose a browser studio for a guest-led show
Start with StreamYard or Restream Studio if you want to assemble the show in a browser rather than build scenes in OBS. StreamYard’s cited plan limits cover 3, 8, or 10 destinations depending on paid plan. Restream offers a Studio as well as an encoder path, and its pricing FAQ describes guest links for up to 10 participants. Compare the current plan details if guest capacity, seats, or a particular destination is decisive.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a relay if OBS or another encoder is central to production
Restream and Castr both document workflows that accept a third-party encoder feed. This is a better match if your scenes, overlays, or production controls already live in OBS or similar software and you want the service to handle distribution. Restream’s pricing page says cloud multistreaming does not require additional creator bandwidth; your connection and destination behavior still affect the contribution feed and resulting streams.
Prioritize endpoint flexibility and website playback
Castr is the clearest fit among these three when the requirements include custom RTMP or SRT outputs, a player embedded on your own site, and stream-health monitoring. Its published maximum is 30 destinations on Ultra and Events, counted across the account, with higher counts potentially available on request. Check the plan page for the current feature bundle and whether its account-wide counting matches your channel setup.

Do not choose on destination count alone
Count the actual channels you need to reach simultaneously, then check how the service counts them and whether your destinations are native integrations or custom endpoints. Also compare production controls, guest handling, chat, monitoring, recording or playback needs, and the price of the plan that includes your workflow. A larger maximum does not by itself establish better fit or reliability.
Destination limits and plan details to verify
| Service | Published figure in cited official material | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Restream | Free users can select 2 of 30+ social channels. | This is the free-tier channel selection described in its pricing FAQ, not a statement that every channel can be streamed to simultaneously. Paid limits vary by plan; verify the current pricing page. |
| StreamYard | Core: 3 destinations; Advanced: 8; Business: 10. | The Help Center identifies these as destination limits on paid plans. Recheck current plan names and limits before purchase. |
| Castr | Starter: 6; Standard: 10; Premium: 20; Ultra and Events: 30. | Castr says these counts apply across the account. It notes that higher counts may be available on request. |

Set up a YouTube multistream safely
- Decide how you will make the show. For a browser-based production, select a service Studio and check its guest, graphics, and destination allowances. For an encoder workflow, prepare OBS or another supported encoder and use the service’s documented connection process.
- Connect YouTube and any other destinations. Use each service’s destination setup flow and grant only the permissions requested for that connection. If YouTube is not offered as a native destination in your chosen workflow, confirm that the service and destination support the same custom RTMP method before relying on it.
- Check the destination count against your plan. Distinguish a list of supported channels from the number you can broadcast to at once. For Castr, the stated count is account-wide; for StreamYard and Restream, confirm the applicable plan limit.
- Verify YouTube’s current live requirements and encoder settings. YouTube’s official guide is the place to confirm current settings and channel eligibility: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Do not infer YouTube’s bitrate, codec, resolution, frame-rate, or latency requirements from a multistream service’s limits.
- Run a private or unlisted rehearsal where appropriate. Confirm that the correct channel is receiving the show, audio and video are present, and any custom output reaches its intended endpoint before scheduling a public broadcast.
- Review rights and channel rules. A relay does not grant permission to use music, video, or other material. Use content you own or are authorized to broadcast, and check YouTube’s current policies for copyright and reused content before building a recurring stream around third-party material.
StreamNeo for an always-on prerecorded YouTube stream
StreamNeo is a different kind of option from the multistreaming services above: it keeps an uploaded recording or playlist live on YouTube 24/7, rather than relaying a live camera or encoder production to several destinations. It is #1 for that specific always-on YouTube use case because it runs from the cloud, supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free.
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud, so your computer can be off.
There is no home computer or connection to keep running. Your upload streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, then start your free first day.

Common problems and what to check
- YouTube is missing from the destination list: Check whether the service offers YouTube as a native integration for your workflow. If you intend to use custom RTMP, confirm that both the service and destination accept that connection and follow their setup instructions.
- Your plan will not let you add another channel: Check the simultaneous destination limit, not just the number of supported integrations. Also check whether the provider counts outputs per show or across the account.
- A custom output does not receive the show: Recheck the endpoint type and connection details against the destination’s instructions. Castr documents custom RTMP/SRT outputs; StreamYard documents custom RTMP for services that accept an RTMP feed.
- The stream looks different on different platforms: Destinations process playback separately. Check each platform’s current live settings and limitations rather than assuming the relay controls the final playback experience.
- A browser Studio or encoder cannot connect: Confirm that the chosen workflow matches the service’s supported input, that YouTube or other destination permissions are still valid, and that the source feed is active. The vendor pages cited here do not establish comparative uptime or guarantee that every connection will succeed.
