StreamYard’s prerecorded video limits depend on your plan: Core allows videos up to 2 hours and 10 GB; Advanced allows 4 hours and 25 GB; Teams and Business allow 8 hours and 25 GB. Prerecorded streaming is not available on Free. These are limits for the uploaded video StreamYard plays as a stream—not limits on ordinary live-stream duration.

StreamYard’s official limits table and prerecorded-streaming guide provide the duration, file-size and scheduling figures; its Free-plan feature page confirms that Free does not include prerecorded streaming. “Unlimited” in the schedule column means the number of prerecorded streams that may be scheduled simultaneously, not unlimited video length or unlimited platform capacity.
File requirements and output quality
StreamYard’s prerecorded-streaming guide specifies MP4 files with H.264 video encoding and a maximum bitrate of 10 Mbps. On paid plans, prerecorded streams can be sent at up to 1080p. The duration and file-size caps in the table still apply, so meeting the format and bitrate requirements does not let a video exceed its plan’s maximum length or upload size.
How scheduling works for YouTube
When the watch link becomes available
If you schedule an announcement post, the YouTube shareable link is created at the announcement-post time. To share the watch link earlier, schedule that announcement for an earlier time. Without an announcement post, the destination link is not available until the prerecorded stream goes live.

Playback controls and replacement
Once scheduled, the recording streams automatically at its scheduled time, even if you are not online. During prerecorded playback, you cannot show comments on-stream or control overlays and media assets as you could in a live studio; comments remain viewable on the destination platform. StreamYard’s guide also describes replacing the video before it goes live and ending an active prerecorded stream early as supported options.
Scheduling-ahead guidance is inconsistent for Business
StreamYard’s general prerecorded-streaming guide and destinations article say streams can be scheduled up to 365 days in advance. Its Business Plan Details page instead gives Business a 90-day maximum. Those official statements conflict, so Business users should check the scheduling window shown in their account or confirm it with StreamYard rather than relying on either figure as definitive.

Choose a plan based on the actual video limits
- Core: fits a recording no longer than 2 hours and no larger than 10 GB, with up to 5 prerecorded streams scheduled at once.
- Advanced: raises the video cap to 4 hours and the file cap to 25 GB, with up to 10 scheduled at once.
- Teams or Business: allow videos up to 8 hours and 25 GB, with unlimited simultaneous scheduled prerecorded streams according to StreamYard’s guide.
If your recording exceeds a plan’s file-size cap but fits its duration cap, StreamYard’s prerecorded-streaming guide points to HandBrake as a way to compress video. Compression may affect image quality; check the resulting file’s format, encoding, bitrate, duration and size before uploading. If the video is longer than the plan’s duration limit, file compression alone will not solve that limit.
Do not confuse prerecorded video limits with live-stream limits
The table above applies to the length of a prerecorded video StreamYard sends as a stream. It is different from storage, ordinary live-broadcast recording length, monthly streaming hours or the way YouTube handles recordings. StreamYard’s general live-streaming and recording article says paid plans have no StreamYard-side live-streaming-hours limit, although destination platforms may have their own limits. That article lists live-broadcast recording limits of 10 hours for Core, Advanced and Teams, and 24 hours for Business; those are recording limits, not prerecorded-video limits.

StreamYard also says prerecorded outputs are no longer automatically saved to its library. That statement applies to the prerecorded output and does not mean other original StreamYard content is removed.
