Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIn OBS Studio, place each prerecorded property-tour segment in its own scene, use Studio Mode to prepare the next scene in Preview, then take it live with a Cut, Fade, Quick Transition, hotkey, or optional stinger. Rehearse with the actual clips and verify the encoder feed in YouTube Live Control Room before the broadcast.
Set up one scene for each tour segment
- Create the scenes: In OBS, add a separate scene for each property or tour segment. Give each scene a clear name and order them as you intend to present them. OBS supports switching among scenes; this organization is a practical workflow, not a prescribed property-tour format.
- Add the prerecorded media: Add the relevant video file as a source in each scene. Check that it is framed correctly and that its audio is present. Use your actual tour files to confirm where playback begins and how long each segment runs.
- Check the handoff: Decide what should happen at each scene change. For example, if one clip ends before the next begins, rehearse whether the resulting pause is intentional. Make sure the next property does not appear before you are ready to introduce it.
Use Studio Mode to stage the next tour
Studio Mode separates the scene you prepare in Preview from the scene currently on the live Program output. Select the upcoming tour scene in Preview, check its framing and playback, then use Transition to take it to Program when ready. OBS notes that viewers cannot see whether Studio Mode is enabled.
This gives the operator a chance to inspect the next segment before it reaches the audience. During rehearsal, verify that the controls behave as expected and that you can identify which scene is live and which is only in Preview.
Choose a transition that suits the handoff
| Transition | What it does | When it may fit |
|---|---|---|
| Cut | Switches immediately to the next scene. | Use for a direct handoff when an instant change is appropriate. |
| Fade | Softens the change between scenes over a set duration. | Use when you want a less abrupt transition. |
| Swipe, Slide, Fade to color, or Luma Wipe | Applies an animated or stylized change. These are among OBS’s configurable transition options. | Use only if the visual treatment suits the program and remains consistent across tours. |
| Stinger | Plays an overlay video across the scene change to cover the cut. | Use when a branded animation adds value and you can rehearse the asset and timing. |
OBS makes Cut and Fade available from first launch; other transition options can be configured. OBS does not prescribe a visual style for real-estate tours, so choose for clarity and consistency rather than assuming an effect is required.

Set a duration for fades and quick transitions
Choose a duration that matches the pace of your program, then watch the transition with the tour footage and audio. In Studio Mode, OBS supports Quick Transitions with configurable durations. That lets you trigger a chosen change quickly without selecting the transition each time. Rehearse each configured option so its duration and result are familiar.
Use hotkeys only after testing them
OBS also supports hotkey-based scene transitions. Assign controls only if they make operation easier, and test every key in a private or unlisted rehearsal. Check that a key press does not unexpectedly take the wrong property live.

Configure a stinger carefully
A stinger is an optional video overlay that masks the cut between scenes. Configure its cut point so the new scene appears at the intended moment. If you use a track matte, OBS says the animation and mask should be in one combined video file: separate files cannot be guaranteed to decode in sync. A Cut or Fade is simpler when a branded animation is unnecessary.
Prepare and check the YouTube Live encoder feed
- Enable live streaming in advance: YouTube says first-time livestream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Do not wait until broadcast time to discover that the channel is not enabled.
- Set up the encoder stream early: YouTube’s live tips advise setting up at least two hours before the event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before it begins.
- Match OBS output to YouTube’s current guidance: YouTube recommends RTMPS. Its encoder settings guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 as supported video codec options; up to 60 fps; AAC or MP3 audio; and CBR bitrate encoding. It recommends a 2-second keyframe interval, not above 4 seconds. Confirm the current settings page and choose output settings appropriate for your connection and production; there is no single bitrate that fits every setup.
- Check Live Control Room preview: Before the audience-facing start, confirm YouTube receives the expected picture and sound. Check the scene that is live, the video framing, and the audio level.
- Monitor throughout the broadcast: YouTube advises continuous audio and video monitoring. Keep an eye on the live output while switching between tours, not just during the opening check.
Rehearse the complete sequence
Run a test live stream or private rehearsal using the actual tour clips and the controls you plan to use. OBS recommends trying the setup ahead of a stream, and YouTube recommends a test live stream.

Troubleshoot common transition problems
| Symptom | What to check | Practical fix |
|---|---|---|
| The wrong property appears live. | Whether the intended scene was selected in Preview and whether a hotkey or transition control was triggered accidentally. | Pause the sequence if appropriate, select the correct scene, verify it in Preview, and rehearse the controls before resuming. |
| The change looks abrupt or distracting. | Whether the chosen transition and duration fit the pace of the tour. | Try a Cut or Fade, adjust the configured duration, and review the result with the actual footage. |
| A stinger reveals the next scene at the wrong moment. | The stinger’s cut point and, for a track matte, whether the animation and mask are combined in one file. | Adjust the cut point and rehearse again; use a combined animation-and-mask file for track-matte use. |
| The next clip has unexpected framing or playback. | The source and scene in Preview, including the clip’s starting point and presentation. | Inspect the scene before taking it live and rehearse from the beginning of the segment. |
| YouTube preview does not show the expected feed, or audio/video problems appear. | The OBS output, encoder connection, and YouTube Live Control Room preview. | Check the current YouTube encoder guidance, confirm the received preview, and monitor the feed during a test stream before the event. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded tour videos looping on a YouTube channel rather than operate a live camera production, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos; it does not go live from a camera. Nothing has to stay on at home, it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly price is $9.99 per month.
