Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Use Python with Playwright: provide a list of URLs, open each page in a browser, and save a screenshot under a unique filename. Playwright documents synchronous and asynchronous screenshot calls, viewport and full-page capture, and returning image bytes. It provides the browser primitives; the URL list, file naming, error log, retries, and any concurrency are choices you implement around them. The documented method is a Python and Playwright workflow; the cited guidance does not establish a special India-specific setup or service difference.
Set up Playwright for Python
Install Playwright and its browser binaries in the Python environment you plan to use. Run:
python -m pip install playwright
python -m playwright install chromium
The example below uses Chromium. If you choose another browser supported by your Playwright installation, install its browser binary and use the corresponding launch method. For repeatable captures, keep the browser and its version consistent across runs.
Capture a list of URLs with synchronous Python
This implementation pattern processes URLs one at a time, saves each successful capture as a PNG, records failures, and closes the browser even if an error interrupts the run. Replace the sample URLs with your targets.

Each URL gets a fresh page and a numbered filename, so one capture does not overwrite another. The example’s 30-second navigation timeout and sequential processing are implementation choices, not Playwright performance guarantees or universal values. Adjust the timeout to the sites and network conditions you expect.
Choose capture scope and output
Viewport or full page
Set full_page=False to capture the current viewport. Set full_page=True to capture the page’s full scrollable area. A full-page image can be very tall; use it when a single long image is useful, and prefer a viewport capture when the visible screen is the intended record.
Save to a path or keep image bytes
Passing path to page.screenshot() saves the result directly, which suits straightforward archives. To pass the image to another step without first writing it to disk, omit the path and retain the returned bytes:

Playwright’s documentation says, “Screenshots API accepts many parameters for image format, clip area, quality, etc.” The chosen format and options should match how the captures will be stored or consumed; for example, use an image format supported by the screenshot API and supply the relevant options for that format.
Capture just one element
When the target is a component—such as a chart, product card, or banner—use a locator screenshot instead of capturing the whole page. The selector must identify the element you want:
from playwright.sync_api import sync_playwright
with sync_playwright() as p:
browser = p.chromium.launch()
page = browser.new_page()
page.goto("https://example.com/", wait_until="load")
page.locator("main").screenshot(path="screenshots/main.png")
browser.close()
Locator screenshots expose screenshot options, including animation handling and output controls. An element covered by another element may not appear visibly in the captured image, so check overlays or consent dialogs if the output does not show the expected content.
Use asynchronous calls when they fit your program
Playwright also documents an async Python API. It is an alternative calling style, not a guaranteed speed improvement. Here is a sequential async pattern that preserves unique filenames and continues after individual failures:

asyncio.run(main())
If your application already uses asyncio, async calls can integrate naturally with its event loop. Add parallel work only after deciding how much concurrency is appropriate for your machine and the destination sites; the documentation does not set a universal concurrency level or promise a throughput result.
Plan bulk runs for reliability and responsible load
- Keep an explicit input list. Use a maintained list of URLs and stable filenames or another mapping that lets you trace each image back to its source.
- Record failures. A navigation or screenshot error should be associated with its URL. The examples write failures to a text file so they can be reviewed rather than silently dropped.
- Choose waits deliberately. The examples wait for the page’s
loadevent. Pages with content rendered later may need a suitable selector wait or other application-specific readiness condition before capture. - Set timeouts and retries as policy. A timeout prevents one unresponsive page from holding up a run indefinitely. If you add retries, limit them and log each attempt; the documentation does not prescribe a retry policy.
- Throttle concurrent work. Parallel pages can increase local resource use and requests to sites. Set concurrency based on your environment and the sites’ published access guidance; no universal safe rate is established here.
- Check authorization and access conditions. Confirm you are permitted to access and capture the pages, especially for private or authenticated content. Destination-specific rules vary; no general legal rule or permission is implied by the code.
- Preserve the rendering environment for comparisons. Screenshots can differ across operating systems, browser versions, settings, hardware, power source, and headless mode. Keep those conditions consistent when using images as visual baselines.
Troubleshoot common failures
Browser executable is missing
If launch fails because a browser binary is unavailable, install the browser for the Playwright version in the active Python environment with python -m playwright install chromium. Make sure you are running the command in the same environment as the script.
Navigation times out or fails
Check that the URL is correct and reachable from the machine running the script. If the page legitimately takes longer, adjust the navigation timeout. For pages that keep background requests open, consider whether waiting for load is the right readiness condition; choose a condition or selector tied to the content you need.

The screenshot is blank or incomplete
Verify that navigation reached the expected page, then wait for the specific content your capture requires rather than assuming every site renders it at the same point. Lazy-loaded or delayed content may require page-specific readiness handling. For element captures, check whether another element covers the target.
Captures overwrite one another
Use unique output paths. The examples use an incrementing index; if the input list can contain duplicates or changes order, derive filenames from a stable identifier and handle duplicate identifiers explicitly.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsVisual comparisons differ between runs
Run captures with consistent operating system, browser version, browser settings, hardware conditions, and headless mode. Differences across those environments can affect rendering even when the page URL is unchanged.
