Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →To retry a failed screenshot API task in Make, open the scenario’s Incomplete executions view, inspect the failed module’s error, then retry the execution if the cause is temporary. Make resumes at the failed module using the configuration saved when the error occurred, so correct changed credentials, endpoints, or settings before retrying. Make’s incomplete-execution guide explains the process.
Retry a failed execution in the Make interface
- Open the scenario that ran the screenshot request, then select Incomplete executions.
- Find and open the failed execution. Inspect the warning or error on the screenshot API module; check the run history or module settings if the cause is unclear.
- Decide whether the error is temporary. A connection problem or a rate limit that has since cleared may be suitable for a retry. Errors such as
RuntimeErrororDataErroroften need manual resolution instead. - If a configuration change is needed, resolve the incomplete execution or update its saved blueprint before retrying. A retry by itself uses the original settings snapshot.
- Make sure the scenario is active. Select the incomplete execution and choose Retry selected.
- Watch its status. Make describes it changing from Scheduled in to In Progress, and then to Resolved if the retry succeeds. If it fails again, it remains unresolved.
Make says retries run with the same configuration as when the error occurred, so they are best suited to temporary errors such as connection or rate-limit failures. See Make’s documentation.
Will a retry use my updated settings?
Not automatically. The retry resumes from the failed module with the configuration captured at failure time. If you have changed the screenshot endpoint, credentials, or module settings since then, update the incomplete execution’s saved blueprint or resolve it and correct the scenario before retrying. Otherwise, Make can repeat the request with the old configuration.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Purpose | Endpoint |
|---|---|
| List a scenario’s incomplete executions | GET /dlqs?scenarioId={scenarioId} |
| Retry one execution | POST /dlqs/{dlqId}/retry |
| Retry multiple executions | POST /dlqs/retry |
| Update an execution’s blueprint before retrying | PATCH /dlqs/{dlqId} |
The retry endpoints require the dlqs:write scope. For a bulk retry, specify execution IDs or request all executions with optional exclusions. Make queues incomplete executions, so a large batch might not start immediately. Check the Make API reference for incomplete executions for request details and parameters.
Check for duplicate requests and provider-specific retry rules
Retrying an execution can send the screenshot request again. Whether that creates another billable request or duplicate output depends on the screenshot provider; the provider is not specified here. Before setting up automatic retries, check its documentation for retry guidance, rate limits, idempotency support, and task-status lookup. If the request may already have completed, check its status before submitting it again.

If Make reports an API timeout
A timeout from Make’s API does not necessarily mean that the scenario stopped. Make documents that a responsive scenario API call can return a timeout after 40 seconds while the scenario continues running; a callback URL can provide completion information. Check the execution status before issuing the screenshot request again. Make’s Scenarios API documentation describes the timeout and callback behavior.
If the scenario starts from a webhook
Separate a webhook-triggered scenario’s failure behavior from the screenshot module’s own error. Make says an error stops an immediately running webhook scenario at once, while a scheduled scenario stops after three unsuccessful attempts. Webhook callers can also receive HTTP 429 when rate limited. See Make’s webhook documentation.

Troubleshoot a retry that fails again
- Connection error: Check whether the network or screenshot provider was temporarily unavailable. Retry after connectivity returns; if it persists, inspect the endpoint and connection configuration.
- Rate-limit error: Wait for the limit to clear and check the provider’s rate-limit guidance before retrying. Avoid repeatedly resubmitting the same task without checking whether it already ran.
- Runtime or data error: Inspect the module input and output and correct the underlying problem. Make identifies these error classes as commonly requiring manual resolution rather than a simple retry.
- Retry uses stale credentials or settings: Update the saved incomplete execution or correct the blueprint before retrying; retrying alone reuses the configuration from the failed run.
- Bulk retry appears delayed: Make queues incomplete executions, and larger batches may not start immediately. Check the execution status rather than submitting the same batch repeatedly.
- Make API call timed out: Check whether the scenario is still running or use its completion callback information before resubmitting the screenshot task.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot endpoint rather than a browser automation setup, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API with an MCP server for AI agents. Its API accepts a URL in one GET request and returns an image or PDF. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are not billed. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
