To run a prerecorded playlist as a recurring YouTube live stream without leaving a computer on, schedule the event in YouTube Studio, then connect a cloud service that can play your video files and send a continuous feed to YouTube. YouTube’s verified encoder directory identifies Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming, but it does not establish Gyre’s current availability, pricing, or recurring-calendar controls in India. Confirm those details with the provider before relying on them.
What you need before setting up a recurring stream
The workflow has two parts: YouTube creates the live event and watch page; the cloud encoder plays authorized files and sends the video feed. A scheduled YouTube event is not, by itself, a recurring playlist or an always-on broadcast.
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says the channel must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance
- A cloud service that explicitly supports prerecorded video playback to YouTube, playlist looping, and the recurrence or continuous-run behavior you need.
- Video and audio files you have the rights to stream. A video being publicly available on YouTube does not grant permission to rebroadcast it.
- Access to YouTube Studio and the ability to copy the stream URL and stream key into the cloud service.
YouTube lists Gyre in its verified encoder directory as a cloud-based option for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. The directory also lists AWS Elemental MediaLive and Restream as encoders, but those descriptions do not establish that either provides turnkey playlist looping or recurring scheduling. YouTube’s encoder directory
For a simpler YouTube-only cloud workflow, StreamNeo is another option to consider first: it runs an uploaded-video stream continuously from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the first day is free.

Schedule the YouTube live event
- Open YouTube Studio, enter Live Control Room, and choose Manage.
- Schedule a stream and set its title, description, visibility, and start time. Scheduling creates an individual event and watch page viewers can share; it may also allow reminder notifications.
- Review the event settings, including whether YouTube’s auto-start and auto-stop controls are appropriate. YouTube lets creators reuse stream settings, including a stream key, but these options do not create a recurring calendar or make a playlist loop on their own. Those functions must be supported and configured by the cloud service.
Menu wording can change. Use the current Live Control Room controls, and verify that the scheduled event and the service’s planned run window agree.
Connect a cloud service to YouTube
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, locate the stream URL and stream key for the event or reusable stream configuration.
- In the provider’s current interface, choose its YouTube or encoder output and enter the URL and key as directed. YouTube explains that the key identifies the stream and allows an encoder to send its feed. Treat it like a password; if someone else obtains it, reset it in Studio and update the service. YouTube stream-key guidance
- Upload or select the authorized video files, arrange their playlist order, and configure looping, the run window, and any recurring start or stop schedule that the provider actually supports.
- Check the provider’s preview or health indicators and YouTube’s Live Control Room preview before the event is public.
Exact cloud-service screens and India-specific settings are provider-dependent. YouTube’s encoder directory establishes Gyre’s 24/7 prerecorded-video positioning, but it does not document its current click-by-click setup or India-specific options. Do not assume a particular calendar control, data-center location, billing currency, tax treatment, or support arrangement without confirming it with the provider.

Test the handoff before viewers arrive
YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before the scheduled event and starting it 15 minutes ahead of the event. Use that lead time for a first launch or whenever you change the service configuration. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance
- Confirm YouTube’s Live Control Room receives the feed and displays a preview.
- Check that both video and audio are present, in sync, and playing the intended playlist item.
- Open the scheduled watch page and confirm it is accessible with the intended visibility.
- Check the service’s playback order and that the next item follows as expected. Do not assume a scheduled YouTube event will loop files without the service’s playback controls.
- For a recurring schedule, confirm the service’s next run time and whether it will reconnect or restart playback after an interruption.
Understand scheduling, recurrence, and archives
A scheduled event is not a recurring playlist
Each scheduled YouTube stream is an event with a time and watch page. Reusing settings or a stream key can simplify repeat setup, and auto-start/auto-stop can help control an event, but YouTube’s documented controls do not establish an automatic recurring calendar or endless prerecorded playlist. Verify that the cloud provider supports both the repeat schedule and the playback loop you want.

Plan for stream length and archiving
YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a 24/7 broadcast will be saved as one intact video. If you need an archive, plan around the documented under-12-hour condition and check the current YouTube controls for your event. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance
Choose a cloud service that fits the workflow
Start with the provider’s documented ability to play uploaded prerecorded files as a continuous or looping YouTube feed. YouTube’s directory identifies Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. AWS Elemental MediaLive is described there as broadcast-grade, making it a more technical option to investigate; the directory does not establish playlist-loop automation. Restream is listed as a cloud studio/multistream product, but its listing does not establish recurring prerecorded-playlist automation. Confirm each requirement directly with the provider rather than inferring it from the product category.

Before subscribing, ask the provider:
- Can it play uploaded files continuously or loop a playlist to YouTube Live?
- Can it schedule recurring start and stop times, and what happens after a dropped connection?
- Does it accept YouTube’s stream URL and key, or use another supported integration? How are credentials stored and reset?
- Which video formats, resolutions, bitrates, audio formats, and playlist controls are supported?
- Is the service available to your India-based account, and what billing, taxes, support hours, and regional hosting options apply?
- What are the current costs, storage and stream-hour limits, and policies if YouTube restricts the channel or key?
- Can you monitor service health and verify the feed in YouTube’s preview?
Protect rights and channel eligibility
Clear rights for every video and audio track
YouTube’s live-stream terms say the channel operator represents that they have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of live content, including music licensing rights and other applicable rights. A public YouTube playlist is not permission to rebroadcast its contents as a live stream. YouTube livestream terms and conditions
Permission is separate from monetization eligibility
YouTube reviews reused content separately from copyright enforcement. Its monetization policy applies to live streams and says repetitive or mass-produced material falls under its “inauthentic content” policy; the page’s July 15, 2025 clarification renamed “repetitious content” and clarified that scope. A playlist built largely from reused material with little added creative, educational, or entertainment value can therefore pose monetization risk even if you have permission to stream it. Follow live-stream rules and limits
YouTube says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and users must be at least 16 to livestream. Its live-stream overview documents a limit of 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key. YouTube live-stream overview

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- YouTube does not show an incoming preview: Confirm the correct stream URL and key were copied into the provider’s YouTube output, that the event is the intended one, and that the cloud service has started sending a feed. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in Studio and update the provider.
- The event is scheduled but the playlist is not recurring: YouTube scheduling creates an individual event, not a looping playlist or automatic recurring calendar. Check that the provider separately supports and has enabled both recurrence and playlist playback.
- The preview has picture but no sound, or the wrong item: Check the uploaded file’s audio and video, playlist order, and the provider’s playback status. Confirm the intended file is selected before the scheduled start.
- The service is available but India billing or controls are unclear: Ask the provider to confirm account eligibility, applicable billing and taxes, support hours, regional hosting choices, and the exact recurring schedule features for your account.
- The stream ends or the archive is incomplete: Check the event’s run window and service behavior, and remember YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours—not a guaranteed single archive of a 24/7 broadcast.
- Monetization is denied or uncertain: Review YouTube’s reused and inauthentic content policies. Copyright permission alone does not establish that a channel meets monetization requirements.
