To accept personal support on Twitch, set up a third-party tipping page, connect a payment method through that service, then share its link in a channel panel or an enabled chat command. For charitable fundraising, use Twitch’s Charity tool or a platform that sends contributions directly to the charity. These are different flows: money sent to you and donated later is not a donation directly to the charity.
Personal tips: create and share a tipping page
A personal tip is paid to you through a third-party service, not necessarily through Twitch. Streamlabs and StreamElements document ways to create a tipping page and expose its link on Twitch. Their instructions are examples, not a complete provider comparison; check the service’s current terms, supported payment methods, regional availability, fees, chargeback handling, and privacy disclosures before taking tips.
1. Create a tipping page and connect payments
- Choose a tipping service and sign in to its dashboard. Streamlabs documents a tipping-page setup; StreamElements documents a tipping page that can be linked from a Twitch chat command.
- In Streamlabs, open the Tipping area, select Tip Methods, choose an available payment processor, and follow its connection steps. The service provides a shareable page URL after setup. Labels and available processors can change.
- Review the page settings before sharing. Streamlabs documents options including display currency, minimum and suggested tip amounts, a page message, and banner customization. Do not assume another provider offers the same controls.
2. Put the link where viewers can find it
In Twitch, open your channel’s About area and enable panel editing. Add a text or image panel and include your tipping-page URL. Streamlabs’ directions describe this approach, including adding the Tip Page URL to an image panel.
3. Optionally add a chat command
StreamElements documents a Twitch !tip command that returns a link to your tipping page after you configure it under Revenue → Tipping Settings. Make sure the command is enabled and test it in chat before telling viewers to use it.

4. Check what viewers will see
Review the payment provider’s account and receipt behavior before accepting tips. Streamlabs advises using a PayPal Business account rather than a personal one to help hide a creator’s real name and personal information from viewers. That is vendor guidance, not a guarantee of anonymity: verify what appears on payment screens, receipts, statements, and notifications for your account and region.
Charity fundraising: send contributions directly to the charity
If the goal is a charitable donation, use Twitch’s Charity tool or another platform that sends the contribution directly to the charity. Twitch states that money viewers give to a streamer who later donates it is not considered a charitable donation and is not tax deductible. If you plan to donate your own earnings later, describe that accurately; do not imply the viewer’s payment goes directly to the charity.

Use Twitch’s Charity tool
Twitch describes its Charity tool for Affiliates and Partners. From the Creator Dashboard, open Charity, choose an eligible charity, and create a fundraiser. Eligibility and charity availability should be confirmed in your own dashboard. Twitch says funds raised, less payment processing fees, are donated under PayPal Giving Fund policies.
Tips are separate from Twitch payouts
A third-party tip page is not the same as Twitch monetization or an Affiliate payout. Twitch’s monetization overview distinguishes completing monetization setup from qualifying as an Affiliate or Partner, and says streamers who are neither are not eligible for payouts under that overview. That does not establish the terms or eligibility rules for a third-party tipping service.

For Affiliate onboarding, Twitch lists direct deposit/ACH, check, wire transfer, PayPal, and holding payouts, with available options varying by region. Its guide states a minimum balance of $50 for most payout methods and $100 for wire transfers. These are Twitch payout figures, not minimums for third-party tips; check the current onboarding information and your locale-specific settings.
Which tip-link setup should you use?
