To upload a recorded video from a cyber café, sign in to your own account in YouTube Studio, select Create → Upload videos, choose the file, add its details, and set its visibility. Keep the upload page open until the transfer finishes, then confirm the video’s status before you leave. If by “stream video” you mean broadcasting live rather than uploading a recording, that is a separate YouTube feature with its own eligibility requirements.
Before you use the cyber café computer
Ask the café operator whether uploads and Google sign-in are allowed. Rules, filters, computer setup, and connection quality vary by location; YouTube’s upload guidance does not establish cyber café policies or network conditions in India.
- Make sure your video file is accessible on the computer. A USB flash drive is one option, but YouTube does not require one; use another transfer method if the café permits it.
- Keep another copy of the file if possible, and have your Google account credentials and any verification method available. Do not hand your password or verification code to the operator.
- If the video is longer than 15 minutes, check that your account is verified before your session. YouTube says verified accounts can upload longer videos; its account verification instructions are at Verify your YouTube account.
Upload the recorded video in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio in the browser and sign in to your own YouTube account.
- Select Create, then Upload videos.
- Select the video file. YouTube’s upload interface supports selecting up to 15 videos at a time.
- Enter the video details and choose who can view it. Uploading transfers the file to YouTube; publishing makes it available to viewers. You can choose private visibility first and publish later.
- Leave the page open while the file transfers. Wait for processing as needed, then check the video in Studio and confirm its status and visibility before leaving.
- Sign out of your Google account. If you copied the video onto the café computer, remove that copy and check that it is no longer in a shared folder or the recycle bin.
If the upload window closes before you choose visibility, YouTube says the upload is saved as private. Still check the video in Studio rather than assuming the upload completed.
Limits, verification, and time to allow
YouTube’s current help guidance says the default maximum upload length is 15 minutes. Verified accounts can upload longer videos. The stated maximum is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less. For files larger than 20 GB, YouTube says to use an up-to-date browser. See YouTube’s upload limits guidance and its instructions for access to intermediate and advanced features.

There is no dependable upload-time estimate for a particular cyber café: the available connection speed is unknown, and YouTube says processing time varies with video quality, length, format, and traffic. HD and 4K videos can take longer to process. Leave enough time for the transfer and check completion before your session ends.
If the upload fails or the file is too large
- Check the file size and length. Make sure the video is within YouTube’s stated maximum of 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less.
- Update the browser. YouTube’s guidance calls for an up-to-date browser for files over 20 GB. If the café browser cannot be updated, ask whether another permitted computer is available.
- Confirm account verification. A video over 15 minutes requires a verified account for longer uploads. If verification is needed, complete it through YouTube’s account process before relying on the café session; some mobile operators may not support Google’s verification texts or calls.
- Check café restrictions and connection stability. The operator may block uploads, and network quality differs by venue. Ask before retrying a large transfer.
- Consider compression if the file exceeds the maximum. YouTube suggests H.264 compression in that case. Compression changes the file; keep the original and review the resulting video quality before uploading.
Uploading a recording is different from going live
A recorded upload sends an existing video file through YouTube Studio. A live stream broadcasts in real time. YouTube’s live-streaming rules require channel verification, no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and a minimum age of 16, as stated on its live-streaming help page. YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as ways to stream. A cyber café may not allow broadcasting or have suitable camera, microphone, or reliable upload capacity; the official guidance does not specify a minimum connection speed for this café scenario.
