What’s actually slowing this PC down?

For a one-off capture in Chrome, open the checkout in DevTools, turn on the device toolbar, set a mobile viewport, then choose More options > Capture screenshot for the visible screen or Capture full size screenshot for the entire page. Use Playwright when you need repeatable captures at chosen viewport sizes or page states. Both approaches emulate a mobile layout on a desktop; use a real phone when you need to check actual device behavior.
Capture a mobile checkout screenshot in Chrome DevTools
- Open the checkout page in Chrome, then open DevTools.
- Turn on the device toolbar. Choose Responsive to enter dimensions directly, or select a device preset if you want to use its device-specific dimensions.
- Set the intended mobile viewport dimensions and orientation. Wait for the layout and checkout state you want to document to settle.
- In the DevTools More options menu, choose Capture screenshot for the currently visible viewport, or Capture full size screenshot to include content beyond it.
- Open the saved image and check that it shows the intended state, that important text is legible, and that it does not expose information you should not share.
In device-specific mode, Chrome can also show a device frame before capture. That frame is useful for presentation; a page-only image is generally easier to inspect.
Choose viewport or full-page capture
- Viewport capture: Choose this when you want to show what fits on the selected mobile screen. It is usually the clearest choice for illustrating a particular step in checkout.
- Full-page capture: Choose this when the reader needs to see the whole checkout page in one image, including content below the visible screen. Long pages may make small text difficult to read, so inspect the result at its actual size.
A screenshot records what the page displayed at capture time. It does not, by itself, establish that a payment flow works, that every step can be completed, or that the checkout behaves the same way on a physical phone.
Use Playwright for repeatable captures
Playwright supports viewport, element-targeted, and full-page screenshots. Its screenshot scale can use CSS pixels or device pixels, and it can emulate mobile phones and tablets. The example below captures a full-page image at a mobile-sized viewport; change the URL and dimensions for the checkout you are documenting.

import { chromium, devices } from 'playwright';
const browser = await chromium.launch();
const context = await browser.newContext({
viewport: { width: 390, height: 844 },
isMobile: true,
hasTouch: true,
});
const page = await context.newPage();
await page.goto('https://example.com/checkout', { waitUntil: 'networkidle' });
await page.screenshot({ path: 'checkout-mobile.png', fullPage: true, scale: 'css' });
await browser.close();
The 390 × 844 values are example viewport dimensions, not a claim about a particular phone. To use a Playwright device profile instead, create the context from a profile in devices, for example await browser.newContext({ ...devices['iPhone 13'] }). A viewport-only capture omits fullPage: true. To capture a particular element, target it with a locator and call that locator’s screenshot method. For device-pixel output, set the screenshot scale to 'device' rather than 'css'.
Use the page state and readiness condition that match your test. Network idle can be unsuitable for a page that maintains ongoing network activity; in that case, wait for a meaningful selector or an explicit application state before taking the screenshot. Do not rely on a delay alone if the checkout can load unpredictably.

Know what desktop mobile emulation can establish
Chrome describes DevTools device mode as a first-order approximation of mobile appearance and behavior. It simulates a mobile experience from a desktop or laptop rather than running the page on a physical mobile device; some mobile characteristics, including CPU architecture differences, are not represented. A responsive screenshot from emulation is useful evidence of layout at the chosen settings, but it does not prove device-specific interactions work.
If the purpose is to document or validate actual checkout behavior, inspect the flow on a phone as well. A phone is not needed for the basic emulated screenshot; it is an additional check when real-device behavior matters.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its API can return PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF captures. Configure a mobile viewport and capture scope using the ScreenshotNeo API documentation; the example below is the supplied one-call request pattern with a checkout URL substituted. It does not specify viewport dimensions, so use the docs for the mobile settings you need.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/checkout -o checkout.webp
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners as a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and each response reports the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.
