Streamlabs Prime is now Streamlabs Ultra. Streamlabs renamed and expanded its premium subscription, and says existing Prime subscribers were automatically moved to Ultra without a change to their billing cost or renewal date. For new subscribers, the practical question is whether Ultra’s broader set of premium tools and higher usage limits are worth the current checkout price.
What changed from Prime to Ultra?
Prime was the name of Streamlabs’ paid premium subscription. Streamlabs announced on November 21, 2022, that it was becoming Ultra, describing Ultra as a wider creative suite with pro features for tools beyond streaming. The announcement was marked updated August 12, 2026. Streamlabs’ explanation of the Prime-to-Ultra change says existing Prime members were automatically converted and their billing cost and renewal dates stayed the same during that transition.
That transition statement explains what happened to existing subscribers; it is not a guarantee that a new Ultra subscription costs the same today. Streamlabs’ current product materials use the Ultra name and compare Free, Ultra, and Ultra+.
What does Ultra add over Free?
Ultra is a bundle spanning Streamlabs’ creator tools, rather than a separate streaming application. The current Streamlabs Ultra plan page lists premium access across Desktop, Mobile, Console, Talk Studio, Cross Clip, Video Editor, Podcast Editor, and related tools. The table highlights examples from its comparison; plan features and limits can change.

The figures and feature comparisons above are published by Streamlabs on its current plan page, accessed October 3, 2026; they are not independent tests. Ultra+ is a separate tier, not another name for Ultra. The page lists higher limits for Ultra+, including 30 active automations, 5,000 Sidekick interactions per month, and 30 GB cloud storage, as well as additional support and success-contact benefits.
How much does Streamlabs Ultra cost?
Streamlabs’ official pages showed different prices when accessed October 3, 2026: the Ultra landing page displayed “Starting at $15.75/mo,” while the Streamlabs FAQ stated “$27/month or discounted when billed annually at $189/year.” The reviewed pages do not explain the discrepancy, so neither figure should be treated as a universal price. Check the Ultra checkout for the current amount and billing term before subscribing. The FAQ does not state a publication date for its price figure.

Streamlabs’ 2022 announcement answered whether Prime and Ultra had a price difference with “Nope! Same price.” That referred to the Prime-to-Ultra transition at that time, not necessarily to the price for a new subscriber now. A separate Streamlabs Desktop page has also shown a different annual amount, which is another reason to use the checkout for the specific plan rather than rely on a figure from another page.
Is Ultra worth it for your setup?
Free may be enough if you only need basic streaming
Streamlabs says its basic tools remain free. Consider Ultra if you will use several included tools
Ultra is more relevant if you need particular paid features—for example multistreaming, the full theme library, more active automations, additional Sidekick interactions, more guest or camera capacity, or cloud storage—or if you will use Pro features in multiple Streamlabs apps. Compare the functions you will actually use with the checkout price and billing period, rather than treating the bundle as automatically worthwhile.
Check whether the limits match your workload
Compare the current limits against your real requirements: destinations for multistreaming, number of simultaneous automations, monthly Sidekick interactions, guests or cameras, and storage. If a limit is the reason you are considering a paid plan, verify that the tier you select includes that specific limit. In particular, do not assume Ultra+ limits are included with Ultra.
