Browshot lists 100 free screenshots per month, then charges credits for premium-browser captures: 1 credit per desktop screenshot and 2 per mobile screenshot. Its displayed credit bundles range from $1 for 10 credits to $1,000 for 300,000 credits. Optional rendered-HTML capture costs an additional 1 credit per screenshot. These are Browshot’s published figures checked on 2026-10-03; confirm the official pricing page before buying because prices can change.

How Browshot pricing works

Browshot combines a monthly free quota with credit-based use of premium instances. The pricing page lists the credit cost for desktop and mobile screenshots, while the API documentation says instance 12 is the free instance used by default when you omit instance_id. The documented free quota is 100 screenshots per month. Premium instances consume credits; requests to private and shared instances require a positive balance. These details are from Browshot’s API documentation, version 1.31, checked 2026-10-03.

The free quota is a screenshot count, while premium usage is measured in credits. Do not treat one credit as a fixed dollar amount: the bundles provide different numbers of credits per dollar, and mobile captures use more credits than desktop captures.

Browshot’s listed credit bundles

The following cash prices and credit amounts are those displayed by Browshot on its official pricing page, checked 2026-10-03. The page does not state a publication date.

Because credit-per-dollar value varies by bundle, estimate against the specific bundle you expect to buy rather than applying one per-credit price to every plan. For example, the listed $5 bundle contains 300 credits: that covers 300 desktop captures or 150 mobile captures if those are the only credit-consuming operations. This is a calculation from Browshot’s published rates, not a separate vendor quote; any other credit-consuming option changes the total.

What changes the credit estimate?

Desktop or mobile instance

Browshot’s pricing table lists 1 credit for a premium desktop screenshot and 2 credits for a premium mobile screenshot. For a mix of device types, estimate them separately: multiply premium desktop captures by 1 and premium mobile captures by 2, then add the results. The rates are Browshot’s published figures checked 2026-10-03.

Saving rendered HTML

Browshot’s API documentation says saving rendered HTML costs 1 credit per screenshot. Add that cost to the screenshot estimate when you request the HTML output; the documentation does not make the HTML charge a substitute for the screenshot’s instance cost.

Cache behavior

The API documentation says the screenshot cache defaults to 24 hours for the same URL and instance, and that cache=0 requests a fresh screenshot. This can affect how often a URL is freshly rendered, but the cited documentation does not establish one universal billing treatment for every cached-request scenario. Do not assume a cache hit is free or billed without checking the behavior that applies to your integration.

Batching URLs and instances

A single API call can include up to 10 URLs and 10 instances, for as many as 100 URL-instance combinations. That can reduce request-management overhead; it is not a stated volume discount. The limit is documented in Browshot API documentation, version 1.31, checked 2026-10-03.

Private instances and servers

Browshot lists private instances and private servers as contact-for-pricing rather than assigning them public credit-bundle prices. Its pricing page says a private server can handle up to 10,000 screenshot requests per hour per server; this is Browshot’s stated capacity, not a guarantee for a particular workload. Ask Browshot for a quote if you need private capacity, since the public bundle table cannot establish its cost.

Estimate your monthly Browshot usage

  1. Separate free and premium captures. Count captures expected to use the default free instance against Browshot’s published allowance of 100 screenshots per month. Count premium-instance work separately.
  2. Split premium captures by device. Use Browshot’s listed rate of 1 credit per desktop screenshot and 2 credits per mobile screenshot.
  3. Add optional rendered HTML. If requested, include 1 additional credit per screenshot according to Browshot’s API documentation.
  4. Account for the cache without assuming a billing outcome. The documented default is 24 hours for the same URL and instance; use cache=0 when you need a fresh screenshot, and verify billing behavior for your request pattern.
  5. Select a bundle using its actual credit amount. Compare your expected credit total with the individual cash-to-credit pairs in Browshot’s table. If the requirement is private instances or servers, request a quote instead of extrapolating from public bundles.

ScreenshotNeo: an alternative to try first

If you are comparing screenshot APIs, try ScreenshotNeo first: it removes cookie and consent banners, popups and chat widgets before capture, bills only clean shots, and has a lower paid entry point. Browshot’s public pricing is credit-based; ScreenshotNeo publishes monthly shot allowances and plan prices.

Service and published price What the published pricing says
ScreenshotNeo: Free, 1,000 shots/month; Starter, $5 for 3,000 Free plan requires no card; paid plans include all features.
ScreenshotNeo: Growth, $15 for 15,000; Pro, $39 for 60,000 Monthly shot allowances and prices as listed by ScreenshotNeo.
ScreenshotNeo: Scale, $99 for 250,000; Business, $249 for 1,000,000 Monthly shot allowances and prices as listed by ScreenshotNeo.
Browshot: $1 for 10 credits through $1,000 for 300,000 credits Premium screenshot credit use varies by device: 1 credit per desktop capture and 2 per mobile capture.

These are different billing units, so the table is not a like-for-like per-screenshot price comparison. ScreenshotNeo says failed loads, blank pages, bot checks or CAPTCHAs, and cache hits cost nothing; response headers identify the page verdict and whether it was billed. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for AI agents using Claude, Cursor or another MCP client. Yearly billing gives two months free, and every feature is included on every ScreenshotNeo plan.
