अगर बच्चे के cartoons को laptop पर रात भर चलाना है, तो laptop को sleep होने से रोकें और चाहें तो screen अलग से बंद होने दें। लेकिन यह YouTube पर playback जारी रहने की गारंटी नहीं है: Wi‑Fi पर inactivity के चार घंटे बाद YouTube autoplay रुक सकता है। अगर मकसद बच्चे के सो जाने के बाद वीडियो रोकना है, तो YouTube का Sleep Timer बेहतर मेल खाता है। पहले तय करें कि playback जारी रखना है या तय समय पर रोकना है।
पहले बच्चे के YouTube खाते और playback का उद्देश्य तय करें
बच्चे के लिए YouTube Kids profile या parent-supervised YouTube account इस्तेमाल करें और वीडियो चलाने से पहले content controls देखें। उपलब्धता और eligibility जगह तथा लागू उम्र के अनुसार बदल सकती है।
- YouTube Kids: Parent Settings या linked parent account के Family Centre से content, search, blocked videos और autoplay नियंत्रित करें। Parent autoplay बंद करे तो बच्चा उसे फिर चालू नहीं कर सकता।
- Supervised YouTube account: parent अपने linked account से YouTube Settings > Family Centre में बच्चों की profiles और features देख सकता है। दूसरा रास्ता Family Link में child > Controls > Content restrictions > YouTube है। Parent autoplay बंद कर सकता है, channels block कर सकता है, और watch या search history देख या pause कर सकता है।
इन controls के labels और उपलब्ध विकल्प account तथा जगह के अनुसार अलग हो सकते हैं। बच्चों की autoplay सीमा लागू हो तो laptop की settings उसे override नहीं करेंगी।
अगर cartoons तय समय बाद रोकने हैं: YouTube Sleep Timer
- YouTube पर वीडियो चलाएँ और player में Settings खोलें।
- Sleep Timer चुनें और वह अवधि सेट करें जिसके बाद वीडियो pause होना चाहिए।
- Timer पूरा होने पर वीडियो pause होगा और YouTube एक silent notification दिखाएगा। चाहें तो timer reset किया जा सकता है।
यह विकल्प playback को सोने के बाद अपने आप रोकने के लिए है; इसे पूरी रात stream जारी रखने की setting न समझें।

Windows 11 पर screen बंद रखें, लेकिन laptop को sleep न होने दें
- Settings > System > Power & battery > Screen, sleep, & hibernate timeouts खोलें।
- When plugged in के अंतर्गत Turn my screen off after का समय चुनें। Screen बंद होने से playback अपने आप बंद होना जरूरी नहीं है।
- उसी जगह Make my device sleep after का plugged-in समय देखें। यदि playback चलाते रहना है, तो इसे अपेक्षित अवधि से आगे रखें या उपलब्ध होने पर Never चुनें।
- Power adapter लगाकर रखें और सोने से पहले एक छोटा परीक्षण करें: screen बंद होने के बाद भी आवाज़ और playback जारी हैं या नहीं।
Windows 11 की दिखाई गई settings और उपलब्ध विकल्प PC के power mode तथा hardware के अनुसार बदल सकते हैं। Microsoft के अनुसार नए plugged-in Modern Standby devices के defaults screen-off के 5 मिनट और sleep के 5 मिनट हैं; S3 devices के defaults क्रमशः 5 और 15 मिनट हैं। ये Microsoft द्वारा बताए गए defaults हैं, हर laptop की मौजूदा setting नहीं, और रात भर playback के लिए सुझाए गए समय भी नहीं।
Laptop का lid बंद करना हो तो
Windows में Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options > Choose what closing the lid does खोलें और Plugged in के सामने action जाँचें। कई PCs lid बंद होने पर sleep करते हैं। Playback जारी रखना आवश्यक हो तो lid बंद करने की setting को sleep पर न रखें, यदि ऐसा विकल्प आपके PC पर उपलब्ध हो। कुछ hardware में विकल्प और power behavior अलग हो सकते हैं।

Mac laptop पर display बंद होने पर automatic sleep रोकें
- Mac को power adapter से जोड़ें।
- Battery settings खोलें और Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off विकल्प देखें।
- यदि आपके Mac और macOS version में यह विकल्प मौजूद है, playback जारी रखते हुए display बंद करने के लिए इसे सक्षम करें।
- अपनी रात की व्यवस्था पर निर्भर करने से पहले जाँच लें कि display बंद होने पर भी video या audio चलता रहता है।
Mac model और macOS version के अनुसार Battery तथा display/sleep controls बदल सकते हैं; हर Mac में यह विकल्प उपलब्ध होने की गारंटी नहीं है।
Autoplay चालू होने पर भी पूरी रात चलने की गारंटी क्यों नहीं
YouTube desktop पर video की watch page में player के नीचे autoplay switch मिलता है। Autoplay अगला संबंधित video चला सकता है, लेकिन YouTube के अनुसार Wi‑Fi पर inactivity के चार घंटे बाद autoplay रुक जाता है। चार घंटे YouTube का documented behavior है, बच्चों के लिए screen-time recommendation नहीं। Device को sleep से रोकना इस YouTube सीमा को हटाता नहीं है। Autoplay preferences अलग-अलग devices पर अलग हो सकती हैं।

समस्या हो तो ये बातें जाँचें
- Screen बंद होते ही playback रुक गया: जाँचें कि sleep timeout screen-off timeout से अलग है और playback अवधि से पहले laptop sleep नहीं हो रहा।
- Lid बंद करने पर playback बंद हो गया: Windows के lid-close action में plugged-in behavior जाँचें; कई PCs बंद lid पर sleep करते हैं।
- अगला video नहीं चला: बच्चे के supervised account या YouTube Kids profile में parent ने autoplay बंद किया हो सकता है। YouTube की Wi‑Fi inactivity सीमा भी लागू हो सकती है।
- चुने समय पर video नहीं रुका: player Settings में Sleep Timer की अवधि जाँचें और देखें कि timer चालू है।
- रात में playback बीच में रुकता है: laptop को adapter पर रखें, अपने OS की plugged-in sleep setting जाँचें और पहले उसी configuration का परीक्षण करें। Network, browser, account और device की स्थितियाँ भी असर डाल सकती हैं।
