To schedule a live stream with Talk Studio, open Schedule (or press Shift+J), select + Schedule, choose your destination and stream type, then enter the event details and confirm. Scheduling creates an event for later; it does not start the broadcast. At the planned time, open the event, choose Enter Studio, and press Go Live.
Schedule a Talk Studio stream
- Open Schedule. In Talk Studio, select Schedule or press Shift+J, then choose + Schedule.
- Choose destinations. Select the platform or platforms where you want to broadcast. Keep these destinations connected after scheduling; Streamlabs says removing destinations can prevent the scheduled stream from working.
- Choose the stream type. Select Live-stream to broadcast live, or Pre-recorded video to schedule a video file.
- Enter event details. Add the title, description, scheduled date and time, and thumbnail. Check the time zone and details before confirming so the event appears when you intend.
- Confirm the schedule. Wait for the success notification. It may include guest invitation links and promotional links you can share with viewers.
Streamlabs’ scheduling article, last updated April 25, 2025, says events can be scheduled no more than 50 days in advance and should be started within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Interface labels and platform limits may change, so check the current Talk Studio screen if it differs from these steps. Streamlabs’ scheduling guide
Enter the studio and start at the scheduled time
- Open Schedule and find the scheduled event.
- Select Enter Studio. If guests are joining, enter the studio before sending or using guest invitations.
- Check your camera, microphone, and destination setup. When ready to begin, press Go Live or use Shift+Enter.
If you are not ready to start, use Schedule again to leave the studio. Do not assume that creating the schedule or entering the studio has started the broadcast: the live stream begins when you choose Go Live.
Limits and destination-specific behavior
- Missed start time: Streamlabs says a scheduled stream cannot be started after its date and time have passed. Delete it and create a new schedule.
- Start window: Start within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, according to Streamlabs’ published guide.
- Destinations: Do not remove destinations after scheduling. Custom RTMP destinations are not supported for scheduling.
- Facebook: A scheduled stream may use at most 10 destinations. An upcoming event may not appear on the main feed automatically; see the Facebook steps below.
- LinkedIn: Streamlabs states a limit of 10 streams within a 24-hour window.
- Event links: The guide says Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn create event links. Twitter and Twitch are channel-based and do not create advance event links, so share your channel or another available promotion link instead.
These operational limits and destination behaviors are from Streamlabs’ scheduling guidance, last updated April 25, 2025; they are not independent platform-wide guarantees and can change. Check Streamlabs’ current scheduling guidance.

Share a scheduled Facebook event
- After creating the scheduled stream, open its Facebook Event.
- Choose Share, then Share to Feed, if you want the event promoted on your feed.
- If scheduling fails, review Facebook Business Integrations permissions for the Talk Studio (Streaming) app.
Streamlabs’ Facebook-specific guidance also says to start the event within 15 minutes before its original scheduled time and observes the maximum of 10 destinations. Read Streamlabs’ Facebook scheduling guide.
Schedule a pre-recorded video
Choose Pre-recorded video during scheduling and upload the file as prompted. Streamlabs’ scheduling article lists a maximum file size of 5 GB and a duration limit of one hour on Standard or two hours on Pro/Ultra. These are the limits stated in that guide, last updated April 25, 2025; verify the limits shown for your current plan before preparing a file, because plan names and upload rules can change. Check your browser and connection before the event
Talk Studio runs in a browser. Streamlabs’ getting-started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, recommends Chrome or Safari, a stable internet connection (preferably Ethernet), and at least 5 Mbps upload speed. Its resolution guidance is:
| Output resolution | Upload speed required | Upload speed recommended |
|---|---|---|
| 720p | 5 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p | 10 Mbps | 20 Mbps |
These are Streamlabs’ published guidance figures, not a guarantee that a particular network will sustain a stream; other devices and network conditions can affect performance. Troubleshoot scheduling and starting problems
- The schedule cannot be created: Check that the event is within the 50-day scheduling window, that destinations are supported, and that the destination accounts remain connected. Custom RTMP is not supported for scheduling.
- Facebook scheduling fails: Review Facebook Business Integrations permissions for Talk Studio (Streaming), then retry.
- The event is scheduled but viewers cannot find it: Check whether the destination generates an event link. For Facebook, use the event’s Share > Share to Feed option if needed. Twitter and Twitch do not create advance event links according to Streamlabs’ guide.
- The event time has passed: Streamlabs says it cannot be started after its scheduled date and time. Delete it and create a replacement schedule.
- The broadcast has not started: Open the event from Schedule, enter the studio, and press Go Live. A schedule alone does not begin broadcasting.
- A pre-recorded upload is rejected: Check the file size and duration against the limits shown for your current plan.
Or let it run in the cloud
Talk Studio is for setting up a scheduled broadcast you enter and start. If your goal instead is to keep uploaded videos looping as a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo runs that stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. It is for uploaded video streams to YouTube, not live camera broadcasts. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start your free day.
