Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To interact with a Browser Source in OBS Studio, select it in the Sources dock and click Interact in the source toolbar. You can also right-click the source and choose Interact. A separate window opens so you can click, scroll, and type on the web page embedded in your scene.
What Interact does
A Browser Source displays a web page inside an OBS scene; common uses include stream alerts and chat boxes. OBS’s Sources Guide describes this purpose. The page normally appears as part of the scene, but the Interact window lets you send mouse and keyboard input to the embedded page.
OBS’s Source API Reference for OBS Studio 33.0.0 documents interaction events including mouse clicks, movement, wheel input, focus, and key presses. In everyday use, that means you can click a control, scroll a page, or type into a field, provided the page itself supports that action.
Open and use the interaction window
- Add or select the Browser Source. In the scene’s Sources dock, select the Browser Source you want to operate. To create one, use the dock’s add-source control and choose Browser.
- Check what the source loads. Open the source’s Properties. Confirm that it loads the intended URL or local file, and check the viewport width and height. OBS documents 800 × 600 pixels as the default viewport dimensions; adjust them to fit the page and scene layout. See OBS’s Browser Source guide.
- Open Interact. With the source selected, click Interact in the source toolbar. Alternatively, right-click the source and choose Interact from its context menu. This is the workflow described in the OBS forum discussion “Show Web site”.
- Operate the page in the window. Click or move the pointer, scroll, and use the keyboard in the interaction window. These inputs go to the embedded page; they do not turn the scene itself into a general-purpose desktop capture.
A standard computer mouse is enough for the pointing and scrolling involved; OBS does not require a special peripheral for this feature.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up the Browser Source if the page is missing or the wrong size
Browser Source properties determine the page loaded and how it is presented. OBS documents URL or local-file loading, viewport dimensions, custom CSS, custom frame rate, page permissions, and visibility-related refresh options. The source is based on Chrome Embedded Framework (CEF); official OBS packages list Browser Source support on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The obs-browser README notes that the plugin is included by default in official packages on Windows, macOS, the Ubuntu PPA, and the official Flatpak.
- Wrong page: Reopen Properties and check the URL or local-file selection.
- Page does not fit: Adjust the Browser Source viewport width and height to the layout you need. The viewport controls the embedded page dimensions; it is separate from the canvas size.
- Old content remains visible: In Browser Source properties, use Refresh cache of current page to reload the current page.
- Page needs to reload when shown: Review the source’s visibility-related options. OBS documents settings to unload the page when the source is hidden and refresh it when its scene becomes active.
Choose between Interact and capturing a regular browser
Use Interact when the page is already embedded as a Browser Source in the scene and you want to operate that source. The alternative described in the OBS forum guidance is to open the page in an ordinary browser and capture that browser window instead.

| Workflow | Where you interact | What appears in the scene | Audio consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Browser Source + Interact | The OBS interaction window for the selected source | The embedded web page as a scene source | Check the Browser Source audio-control property if the page’s audio needs to be captured. |
| Ordinary browser + Window Capture | The regular browser window | The captured browser window | The forum response notes that separate Audio Output Capture may be needed, depending on the setup. |
The window-capture approach is useful if you specifically want the ordinary browser on screen. It is a different setup from interacting with an embedded Browser Source.
Troubleshooting
- You can see the page but cannot click it: Select the Browser Source in the Sources dock, then open Interact from the toolbar or right-click menu. Clicking the page as it appears in the scene is not the same as opening its interaction window.
- The Interact control is not acting on the page you expect: Verify that the intended Browser Source is selected. A scene may contain multiple sources.
- The embedded page looks stale: Open Browser Source properties and choose Refresh cache of current page.
- Controls are clipped or laid out incorrectly: Check the source’s viewport width and height in properties and set dimensions appropriate to the page.
- Page audio is absent: For an embedded source, check its audio-control property. If using Window Capture, the forum guidance says a separate Audio Output Capture may be needed for the chosen setup.
Or let it run in the cloud
Browser Source interaction is for operating an embedded web page in an OBS scene. If your goal is instead to keep uploaded videos playing live on YouTube around the clock, StreamNeo runs that stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Learn about StreamNeo, or start your free day.
