OBS में Dropped Frames (Network) बढ़ रहे हों, तो पहले पता करें कि OBS आपके स्थानीय कंप्यूटर पर चल रहा है या Vultr Cloud Compute instance पर। समस्या उस मशीन से YouTube ingest तक के outbound network path में हो सकती है—यह counter अपने आप में GPU encoding overload का संकेत नहीं है। OBS चलाने वाली मशीन का upload जाँचें, bitrate को स्थिर क्षमता से नीचे रखें, और फिर network तथा YouTube ingest settings को एक-एक करके जाँचें.
पहले तय करें: OBS कहाँ चल रहा है?
समस्या को सही जगह ढूँढ़ने के लिए यह जानना जरूरी है कि stream वास्तव में किस मशीन से YouTube तक भेजी जा रही है। केवल Vultr VM होना यह नहीं बताता कि OBS या encoder भी वहीं चल रहा है।
- स्थानीय OBS: अपने PC, router/ISP और YouTube ingest के बीच के upload path की जाँच करें। इस स्थिति में Wi-Fi, shared network load, VPN या स्थानीय security software असर डाल सकते हैं.
- Vultr पर OBS: Vultr instance से YouTube तक के outbound path, चुने गए ingest endpoint और instance के संसाधनों की जाँच करें। आपके स्थानीय कंप्यूटर को Ethernet से जोड़ना इस cloud-to-YouTube route को नहीं बदलता.

OBS के Dropped Frames (Network) counter का बढ़ना आम तौर पर encoder से remote ingest तक अस्थिर कनेक्शन या configured bitrate बनाए न रख पाने की ओर इशारा करता है। OBS के अनुसार वह buffering से बचने के लिए frames छोड़ता है। इसका अर्थ यह नहीं कि हर तरह का lag network की वजह से है। OBS की connection troubleshooting guide network drops को समझाती है; encoding-performance guide rendering lag और encoder overload जैसे अलग मामलों को समझाती है.

- Rendering lag या encoder overload: OBS rendering/encoding performance और उपलब्ध CPU/GPU संसाधन जाँचें; केवल network bitrate घटाना इसका पूरा निदान नहीं है.
- YouTube Live Control Room error: error में बताई गई bitrate, codec, resolution या keyframe setting पहले ठीक करें। YouTube के error messages पेज के अनुसार Live Control Room में health/error संदेश और timestamp देखे जा सकते हैं.
चरणबद्ध तरीके से dropped frames ठीक करें
1. OBS और YouTube के counters एक ही समय पर देखें
- OBS चलाएँ और Statistics में Dropped Frames (Network) तथा connection indicator देखें। एक छोटी test stream शुरू करें.
- उसी समय YouTube Live Control Room में stream health और timestamp वाले errors देखें। OBS network drops और YouTube के configuration errors अलग संकेत हैं; error में जो setting बताई गई हो उसे जाँचें.
- परीक्षण में एक समय पर एक बदलाव करें और परिणाम दर्ज करें। इससे पता चलेगा कि बदलाव ने drops कम किए या केवल stream quality घटाई.

2. OBS वाली मशीन से upload क्षमता मापें
उस मशीन का upload मापें जिस पर OBS चल रहा है। Download speed अच्छी होना outbound stream के लिए पर्याप्त upload का प्रमाण नहीं है। यदि OBS Vultr पर है, तो घर या ऑफिस के PC से किया गया speed test Vultr instance का upload नहीं मापता। YouTube भी upload speed मापने और stream के कुल bitrate के लिए headroom रखने की सलाह देता है (YouTube streaming tips).
OBS का शुरुआती सुझाव है कि bitrate को total upload speed के लगभग 75% तक रखें। YouTube कुल stream bitrate से ऊपर लगभग 20% upload headroom की सलाह देता है। ये planning के शुरुआती नियम हैं, Vultr route की performance या किसी विशेष instance की उपलब्ध क्षमता की गारंटी नहीं। साझा नेटवर्क का उपयोग भी आपके लिए उपलब्ध upload घटा सकता है (OBS connection troubleshooting; YouTube streaming tips).

YouTube के encoder settings पेज पर प्रकाशित H.264 video bitrate के कुछ उदाहरण नीचे हैं। ये video bitrate हैं; audio bitrate और अन्य network traffic के लिए भी जगह रखें। सही मान चुनने के लिए अपनी resolution, frame rate, codec और मापी हुई स्थिर upload क्षमता साथ मिलाएँ.

3. YouTube के encoder format से settings मिलाएँ
- YouTube की मौजूदा settings guidance RTMP/RTMPS और CBR का उल्लेख करती है.
- Keyframe interval 2 seconds पर रखें; YouTube 2-second interval सुझाता है और 4 seconds से अधिक नहीं कहता.
- Resolution और frame rate के लिए उसी codec की YouTube bitrate guidance चुनें; केवल resolution देखकर bitrate तय न करें.
- समान audio और motion वाली छोटी test stream से health जाँचें। YouTube health/error संदेश Live Control Room में देखें.
सभी settings और codec-विशिष्ट bitrate के लिए YouTube encoder settings तथा error संकेतों के लिए YouTube error messages देखें। YouTube Help के इन पन्नों पर प्रकाशित तारीख निर्दिष्ट नहीं थी; ये 2026-10-03 को देखे गए वर्तमान निर्देश हैं.

4. Network के संभावित कारण एक-एक करके अलग करें
OBS की connection guide के अनुसार नीचे दिए परीक्षण करें। एक समय पर एक बदलाव करें, फिर test stream और OBS statistics से तुलना करें; असर न हो तो बदली setting को default पर लौटाएँ.
- Wi-Fi की जगह Ethernet: यह तभी स्थानीय OBS मशीन के लिए उपयोगी परीक्षण है जब वह Wi-Fi पर हो। स्थानीय तार Vultr instance और YouTube के बीच route को ठीक करने की गारंटी नहीं देता.
- VPN: इसे अस्थायी रूप से बंद करके तुलना करें। यदि फर्क पड़े, तो स्थायी रूप से बिना VPN चलाने के बजाय अपने नेटवर्क की नीति और VPN configuration समझें.
- Firewall या antivirus: केवल जाँच के लिए अस्थायी परीक्षण करें। बाधा मिलने पर OBS के लिए exception जोड़ें और सुरक्षा फिर चालू करें; सुरक्षा software स्थायी रूप से बंद न छोड़ें.
- दूसरा ingest/server: उपलब्ध विकल्प हो तो अलग ingest endpoint पर test करें और परिणाम दर्ज करें.
- Network drivers और utility software: स्थानीय मशीन के पुराने network drivers तथा bundled bandwidth/traffic-priority utilities जाँचें; किसी utility को बदलने पर पहले और बाद का परिणाम दर्ज करें.
- Windows विकल्प: OBS guide में Network Optimizations और TCP pacing आजमाने के विकल्प हैं। Bind to IP को Default रखें। IPv4 Only को केवल परीक्षण के तौर पर आजमाएँ; असर न हो तो IPv4/IPv6 default पर लौटाएँ.
- Dynamic Bitrate Adjustment: congestion के दौरान OBS bitrate घटा सकता है, जिससे drops कम हो सकते हैं लेकिन stream quality भी घट सकती है। OBS इसे मूल network कारण का समाधान नहीं मानता.

5. Vultr bandwidth usage को connection quality से अलग समझें
Vultr के billing दस्तावेज के अनुसार cloud resource से internet तक का outbound data transfer usage में गिना जाता है; inbound transfer metered नहीं है। Bandwidth quota या overage की जाँच के लिए Vultr console में Bandwidth Usage पेज खोलें। Dashboard का usage billing और transfer सीमा बताता है; यह अपने आप में OBS के क्षणिक dropped frames या packet loss का कारण सिद्ध नहीं करता (Vultr usage calculation; Vultr usage dashboard).
