How Hexowatch monitors a protected page
Hexowatch describes custom page actions that can be used before monitoring content behind a login. In its HTML element monitor walkthrough, the workflow is to enter the page URL, preview it, perform the necessary page actions, choose an element, and start monitoring. Hexowatch then notifies you when that selected element changes.
Documented actions include clicking page controls, typing into form fields, adding a delay, blocking an element, refreshing the page, and setting cookie values manually. These steps can help reach a page state that is not visible until after sign-in or another interaction.

Choose the HTML element monitor when a particular field, status, or text value matters. Choose visual monitoring when the visual presentation is what you need to watch.

What can prevent a login from working?
The documented interaction features do not amount to a guarantee for every login system. A site may use MFA, CAPTCHA, SSO, or other challenges that the described workflow does not establish as supported. Compatibility depends on the particular page and authentication process, so test the intended page before relying on alerts.

Set up a protected-page monitor
- Open the HTML element monitor and enter the URL of the page you are authorized to monitor.
- Preview the page and use the available actions—such as clicking, typing into a form, setting cookie values, or waiting—to reach the content.
- Select the element whose changes matter and start monitoring.
- Check that the preview shows the authenticated content and that the selected element is the intended one before depending on notifications.
For a visual check, use Hexowatch’s visual monitor and configure the documented custom actions to reach the protected page before the visual capture. Do not assume that a setup that works for one monitor mode will necessarily behave the same in the other.
