A full-page screenshot can include the page’s full vertical dimensions without first scrolling through it. If a site only requests or reveals content as it approaches the viewport, that content may never load before the image is taken. The fix is usually to enable a pre-capture scroll pass, slow the scroll and allow time for loading—but the right approach depends on what is scrolling and how the page is built.

Why can a full-page screenshot miss content loaded while scrolling?

Some pages defer images or other content until they are visible, or nearly visible, in the viewport. This is commonly called lazy loading. A screenshot tool that captures the page’s full height without first scrolling may reach areas whose content has not yet been requested or rendered. Google’s guidance for site owners is to make relevant lazy-loaded content available when it becomes visible in the viewport: Fix lazy-loaded content.

So, full-page extent and pre-capture scrolling are different behaviors. One determines how much of the page the screenshot covers; the other gives scroll-triggered content a chance to load. Screenshot Scout, for example, documents a pre-scroll option intended to trigger lazy-loaded assets before capture: Screenshot Scout documentation. That illustrates the distinction, but it does not establish VisualScraper’s settings or defaults.

How to troubleshoot missing content

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
  1. Check the capture mode. Determine whether the result is viewport-only or full-page. If the tool offers pre-capture scrolling, enable it and try again.
  2. Give loading more time. If content still disappears, reduce the distance between scroll steps and increase the wait after each step, if those controls are available. Change one setting at a time and compare results. A capture that scrolls faster than the page can load may pass the trigger point before the content is ready. Longer waits can also make a job slower and more likely to hit a timeout. Screenshot Scout documents scroll-step and delay controls, but its example values are product-specific rather than universal: Screenshot Scout documentation.
  3. Check which element scrolls. Look for a scrollbar inside the page. If a panel scrolls while the document itself stays put, scrolling the page will not reveal the panel’s hidden content. The capture needs to scroll that nested panel, if the tool supports it. General browser guidance on nested scrolling is described by MDN’s overflow reference.
  4. Set a boundary for infinite scroll. An infinite feed can keep appending items as you scroll, so it has no natural “complete page” endpoint. Decide what to capture—for example, a specific number of items or a known final section—and record that boundary. Google recommends persistent URLs and sequential links for chunks on sites that implement infinite scroll: Fix lazy-loaded content.
  5. Check for a maximum capture height. If the image repeatedly stops at the same vertical point, a configured height cap may be truncating the output even if scrolling and loading work. Consult the capture tool’s documentation for its maximum height and any related limits.
  6. If you own the site, inspect its loading behavior. Make sure relevant content loads when it enters the viewport. For infinite-scroll content, provide stable, unique URLs and sequential links so users and crawlers can reach each chunk.

How to tell which cause is most likely

What you see Likely cause to check
Lower-page images or blocks are absent, but the screenshot covers the page’s full height No pre-capture scroll, or the scroll pass moves too quickly for loading.
The document appears stationary while content inside a box is missing The missing content belongs to a nested, independently scrolling panel.
The image ends at the same vertical position each time A maximum capture-height limit may be applied.
The page keeps adding items as the capture proceeds The page uses infinite scroll and needs a defined capture endpoint.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its API can return an image or PDF from one GET request; it also offers full-page capture with lazy images loaded. Before capture, it can accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets, with each step configurable. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the page verdict and billing status. An MCP server provides screenshot tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.

What is not established about VisualScraper

The available evidence does not establish which product or version called VisualScraper is involved, whether it has pre-scroll or delay settings, or whether a particular default or defect caused the missing content. Treat the troubleshooting above as general guidance. A VisualScraper-specific diagnosis requires its product URL and version, plus the capture configuration.
