If it is blank there too, investigate the page itself. If it renders normally, preview it in Hexowatch and check the capture area, load timing, and any interactions or cookie state the page needs.
1. Check whether the page is blank outside Hexowatch
Open the exact monitored URL in a normal browser and allow the expected content time to load. This separates a target-page problem from a cloud-capture setup issue; it is a practical diagnostic, not a formal Hexowatch decision tree.
- Blank in the browser too: investigate the target site and the resources it depends on. If the page is blank in Chrome, Google’s general guidance for blank media symptoms includes checking JavaScript, extensions, cache and cookies, and whether Chrome is up to date. These are browser-side checks, not Hexowatch-specific fixes: Google Chrome Help.
- Displays in the browser: continue with Hexowatch’s preview and capture settings rather than assuming the target site is broken.
2. Preview the URL and verify the capture area
In Hexowatch’s visual-monitor setup, enter the URL and select preview. Check that the content you expect is visible in the preview before configuring or adjusting the monitor. The visual monitor can capture the whole page or a selected region after the page loads. A selected region that does not include the content can therefore produce an image that appears empty. 3. Allow for pages that load late or need interaction
Some pages reveal content only after a delay, a click, a form action, or a particular cookie state. Hexowatch documents these controls in its HTML-element monitor; do not assume every control is available in the visual monitor.

- Add a delay if the page needs more time to render.
- Configure a click, text entry in a form field, or refresh if the page requires that action before showing content.
- Try the documented pop-up blocking option if a visual pop-up obscures the content.
- Set cookie values manually if the page’s content depends on cookie state.

4. Check scheduling and notifications only after preview works
Once the preview shows the intended content, review the visual monitor’s check frequency and notification choices before starting monitoring. These determine when checks run and how alerts arrive; they do not repair a blank render. Hexowatch describes these setup choices in its visual-monitor walkthrough.

5. Know what Hexowatch documents—and what remains unclear
Hexowatch describes its visual monitor as a way to capture and archive screenshots and notify users of visual changes. Its FAQ includes the question “What if a page doesn’t display correctly when monitoring?” but the answer was not exposed in the accessible FAQ content. That means a vendor-approved fix for this exact symptom cannot be confirmed from that page. The FAQ and visual-monitor walkthrough display a support contact; ask Hexowatch support for current, case-specific guidance rather than treating an undocumented remedy as official advice.
