MP4 फ़ाइल को convert करने से पहले क्या जाँचें
MP4 एक container है, codec नहीं: उसके भीतर वीडियो और ऑडियो अलग-अलग formats में encoded हो सकते हैं। इसलिए conversion का निर्णय extension देखकर नहीं, streams और उनकी settings देखकर लें। FFmpeg का ffprobe इस जाँच के लिए उपयोगी है:
ffprobe -v error -show_entries stream=index,codec_type,codec_name,width,height,r_frame_rate,pix_fmt,sample_rate,channels -of json input.mp4input.mp4 को अपनी फ़ाइल के नाम से बदलें। आउटपुट में वीडियो के लिए codec, resolution, frame rate और pixel format देखें; ऑडियो के लिए codec, sample rate और channels देखें। अगर कई audio tracks हैं, तो तय करें कि live stream में कौन-सा चाहिए। फ़ाइल खुल जाना या उसका MP4 होना यह साबित नहीं करता कि उसके streams YouTube ingestion के लिए सही हैं।
- अगर वीडियो H.264 है, ऑडियो AAC है और resolution तथा frame rate आपके प्रसारण के अनुरूप हैं, तो बिना वजह re-encode करने से बचें।
- अगर codec या stream settings बदलनी हैं, तो RTMP/RTMPS के लिए H.264 वीडियो और AAC ऑडियो एक सरल compatibility target है।

RTMP/RTMPS के लिए उपयोगी output settings
YouTube की वर्तमान encoder guidance CBR (constant bitrate), progressive scan, square pixels, अधिकतम 60 fps और 2-second keyframe interval की सिफारिश करती है; keyframe interval 4 seconds से अधिक न रखें। SDR वीडियो के लिए Rec. 709 सुझाया गया है। ये YouTube की सिफारिशें हैं, हर स्रोत पर आज़माई गई सार्वभौमिक FFmpeg prescription नहीं। आधिकारिक encoder settings में अपने resolution और frame rate का मेल चुनें।

ये YouTube की live encoder-settings तालिका में दिए गए मान हैं (2026 में देखे गए)। Bitrate चुनते समय resolution, frame rate, दृश्य में motion और उपलब्ध upload bandwidth का ध्यान रखें; सुझाया गया मान हर रिकॉर्डिंग के लिए समान quality की गारंटी नहीं है। YouTube stereo audio के लिए 44.1 kHz और 128 kbps सूचीबद्ध करता है; 5.1 audio के लिए 48 kHz और 384 kbps।

FFmpeg से compatible copy या conversion बनाएँ
जब मौजूदा streams को जस का तस रखना हो
अगर जाँच से पता चले कि वीडियो और ऑडियो पहले से उपयुक्त हैं और आपको केवल container में remux करना है, तो stream copy की कोशिश करें:
ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -map 0:v:0 -map 0:a:0 -c copy output.mp4यह वीडियो या ऑडियो को दोबारा encode नहीं करता, इसलिए quality loss नहीं होता और प्रक्रिया तेज़ हो सकती है। लेकिन इससे unsupported codec compatible नहीं बनता। यह उदाहरण पहली video और पहली audio stream चुनता है; अगर आपकी फ़ाइल में अलग audio track चाहिए, तो mapping बदलें।

H.264 वीडियो और AAC ऑडियो में transcode करना
यदि source codecs या settings बदलने की ज़रूरत है, तो यह एक अनुकूलित करने योग्य template है—हर input पर test किया हुआ सार्वभौमिक command नहीं:
ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -map 0:v:0 -map 0:a:0 -c:v libx264 -preset medium -pix_fmt yuv420p -r 30 -g 60 -keyint_min 60 -sc_threshold 0 -b:v 14M -minrate 14M -maxrate 14M -bufsize 28M -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100 -movflags +faststart output.mp4यह template 30 fps के लिए 60-frame GOP (2 seconds) और 14 Mbps video bitrate रखता है—1080p30 के लिए YouTube के सुझाए गए bitrate उदाहरण के अनुरूप। दूसरी resolution या frame rate के लिए -r, GOP और bitrate बदलें। मसलन, 60 fps में 2-second GOP 120 frames होगा; 1080p60 के bitrate उदाहरण के लिए -b:v, -minrate और -maxrate को 17 Mbps पर सेट करना होगा। 720p30 के सुझाए गए bitrate उदाहरण के लिए इन्हें 8 Mbps रखें। CBR जैसे व्यवहार के लिए min और max bitrate बराबर रखे गए हैं; encoder और input के अनुसार परिणाम जाँचें।

बदलाव के बाद output को उसी ffprobe command से inspect करें। सही codec के साथ resolution, frame rate, audio track और pixel format भी जाँचें। FFmpeg विकल्प आपके installed build और source file के अनुसार बदल सकते हैं।
Converted फ़ाइल से YouTube Live तक
- YouTube Live Control Room में broadcast सेट करें और RTMPS ingestion URL तथा stream key प्राप्त करें। YouTube के LiveStreams दस्तावेज़ के अनुसार stream resource ingestion URL और stream name देता है: LiveStreams API reference।
- Stream key को password की तरह गोपनीय रखें। उसे सार्वजनिक command, screenshot या साझा config में न डालें।
- FFmpeg से file conversion पूरी होने के बाद, अपनी पसंद के live encoder या streaming workflow में तैयार media को YouTube के RTMPS endpoint पर भेजें। Conversion command अकेले broadcast शुरू नहीं करता।
- Live Control Room में stream health और status देखें। YouTube API video codec, audio codec, audio sample rate और low-bitrate या starvation जैसी समस्याओं की स्थिति दर्ज कर सकता है।
YouTube RTMPS को encrypted ingestion protocol के रूप में recommend करता है। RTMP/RTMPS का सामान्य encoder workflow, HLS और DASH के segment-based ingest से अलग है। Protocol comparison के अनुसार HLS में H.264/HEVC और DASH में H.264/VP9 का समर्थन है; segment-based HLS/DASH में आम तौर पर latency अधिक होती है। DASH के लिए MPD, initialization/media segments और अलग-अलग PUT requests जैसी आवश्यकताएँ हैं—इसे साधारण RTMP command में बदलकर इस्तेमाल नहीं किया जा सकता। YouTube के अनुसार एक broadcast में RTMP और DASH ingestion को mix नहीं किया जा सकता। विवरण: protocol comparison और DASH encoding guide।

Copyright और YouTube channel की शर्तें
Conversion किसी रिकॉर्डिंग को प्रसारित करने का अधिकार नहीं देता। केवल वही सामग्री stream करें जिसके लिए आपके पास आवश्यक अधिकार या अनुमति हो; संगीत, वीडियो और अन्य third-party material पर लागू copyright नियम जाँचें। YouTube की copyright और monetization नीतियाँ भी लागू होती हैं। किसी वीडियो को technically compatible बनाने से channel eligibility या monetization की पुष्टि नहीं होती।
आम समस्याएँ और उनके समाधान
- केवल MP4 होने के बावजूद YouTube stream स्वीकार नहीं करता:
ffprobeसे अंदर के video/audio codecs देखें। आवश्यकता हो तो H.264/AAC में transcode करें; extension बदलना conversion नहीं है। - Stream health में bitrate कम या starvation दिखती है: encoder का output bitrate, चुनी resolution/frame rate और उपलब्ध upload bandwidth मिलाएँ। YouTube की सुझाई गई दर को लक्ष्य मानें, मगर connection की क्षमता से अधिक न भेजें।
- Audio नहीं आता या गलत भाषा/track सुनाई देता है: फ़ाइल के audio streams की सूची देखें और
-mapमें सही track चुनें। बिना audio वाले source में audio mapping हटाएँ। Unknown encoder 'libx264'त्रुटि आती है: आपका FFmpeg buildlibx264शामिल नहीं कर सकता। ऐसे build का उपयोग करें जिसमें encoder उपलब्ध हो, फिर command दोबारा चलाएँ।- Frame rate या motion अपेक्षा से अलग है: स्रोत का वास्तविक frame rate जाँचें।
-rको मनमाने ढंग से बदलना frames दोहराने या हटाने का कारण बन सकता है; target frame rate और आवश्यक frame-rate conversion तय करके GOP उसी हिसाब से रखें। - YouTube ingest शुरू नहीं होता: RTMPS URL और stream key दोबारा जाँचें, key को गोपनीय रखें, और Live Control Room में stream health देखें। Conversion सफल होना अपने-आप ingest की सफलता नहीं बताता।
