To use NVIDIA Broadcast with OBS, select your physical microphone or camera inside Broadcast first, then choose Broadcast’s virtual device in OBS. For audio, go to Settings > Audio and set Mic/Auxiliary Audio to Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast). For video, add an OBS Video Capture Source and select Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast). Broadcast applies its effects; OBS receives the processed devices.

Check that your PC can run NVIDIA Broadcast

NVIDIA’s current product page lists these general requirements: a GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX, or higher GPU; at least 8 GB of RAM; Windows 10 64-bit; and an NVIDIA Studio Driver R570, Game Ready Driver R570, or NVIDIA RTX Enterprise Driver R570 or above. Internet connectivity is required during installation. Intel Core i5 8600 or AMD Ryzen r5 2600 or higher is recommended CPU guidance, not a minimum requirement. Check NVIDIA’s requirements page before installing, since requirements can change with app versions. NVIDIA’s FAQ confirms OBS Studio is supported and that the Broadcast app requires an RTX GPU; GTX GPUs are not supported.

Set up your microphone in Broadcast and OBS

  1. Open NVIDIA Broadcast. In the microphone input controls, select the physical microphone you want to use.
  2. Turn on the Broadcast effect or effects you need. For example, enable noise removal if you want Broadcast to filter microphone background noise.
  3. Open OBS and select Settings > Audio.
  4. Under Mic/Auxiliary Audio, choose Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast).
  5. Click Apply and OK, then speak and check the OBS audio meter. Make a short test recording or check your setup before going live.

The order matters: Broadcast needs the physical input as its source, while OBS needs Broadcast’s virtual microphone as its source. OBS does not install or apply Broadcast effects by itself.

Use the processed camera in an OBS scene

  1. In NVIDIA Broadcast, choose your physical camera as the camera input.
  2. Enable the video effect you want, if any, such as a background effect.
  3. In OBS, select the scene where you want the camera to appear and click + under Sources.
  4. Add a Video Capture Source, then select Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast) as its device.
  5. Check the OBS preview and adjust the source’s position or size in the scene.

If the virtual camera does not appear, confirm Broadcast is open and its physical camera input is selected, then reopen the source’s device list in OBS.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Choose effects without duplicating processing

Use only the effects that solve a real problem for your stream. NVIDIA advises against applying similar noise removal in multiple places: if Broadcast is filtering microphone noise, disable comparable processing in OBS, your audio driver, or another processing layer. Stacking filters can alter the sound and make it harder to identify which setting is responsible.

NVIDIA notes that running more than one effect increases the app’s GPU use, and some effect combinations are unavailable. If performance is an issue, turn off effects you do not need and test again. For normal Windows playback, keep your actual headset or speakers as the Windows output device if you want to hear unfiltered system audio; NVIDIA advises not setting NVIDIA Broadcast Speakers as the default output for that purpose. These setup cautions are described in NVIDIA’s Broadcast setup guide.

Troubleshooting Broadcast in OBS

What you see Likely cause What to do
OBS has no microphone signal OBS is using the physical microphone or another device instead of Broadcast’s virtual microphone, or Broadcast has the wrong physical input selected. In Broadcast, select the intended microphone. In OBS, open Settings > Audio and set Mic/Auxiliary Audio to Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast). Check the OBS meter while speaking.
The camera is missing or black in OBS The OBS source is not set to Broadcast’s virtual camera, or Broadcast has not been given the physical camera as input. Choose the physical camera in Broadcast. In the OBS scene, edit or add a Video Capture Source and select Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast).
Audio sounds over-filtered or unnatural Noise removal may be enabled in Broadcast and in OBS, the driver, or another audio-processing layer. Turn off duplicate noise-removal processing and test with only the Broadcast effect enabled.
Effects use too much GPU or an effect combination is unavailable Multiple effects increase GPU use, and some combinations are not supported. Disable effects that are not needed and retry with a simpler combination.
Broadcast will not install or run The PC may not meet current GPU, memory, Windows, or driver requirements. Compare the system with NVIDIA’s current requirements; the listed Broadcast app requirements do not support GTX GPUs.

Or let it run in the cloud

NVIDIA Broadcast and OBS are the DIY route for a live camera-and-microphone setup. If your goal instead is to keep prerecorded video looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or its plans, then start a free day.
