For an unattended YouTube loop, compare cloud services built for continuous playback; for free local control, use OBS Studio and keep the computer and internet connection running. StreamNeo is the first option to consider for a YouTube-only cloud loop: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives you the first day free.

LiveReacting remains one option, alongside Upstream, Gyre, Live247, Castr, and OneStream. Their playlist behavior, run-length rules, destinations, and plan limits differ. “Supports prerecorded streaming” does not necessarily mean a service can repeat a playlist indefinitely, so confirm the exact workflow before moving a channel.

How to choose a LiveReacting alternative

The main decision is where the stream runs. Local software such as OBS plays and sends the video from your computer, so you retain control but must keep the machine and connection online. A cloud service handles playback remotely, avoiding a computer running at home, but its playlist, duration, storage, and destination rules depend on the service and plan.

Use this comparison to build a shortlist, not as a guarantee of current vendor features or prices. The vendor-feature overview in LiveReacting’s comparison page is useful for mapping options, but it is not independent verification. Its figures and plan terms can change; check each provider’s own current pages before purchasing.

StreamNeo Cloud playback for uploaded videos; one always-on stream per slot. Supports 24/7 looping and playlists. The uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps. YouTube only. One flat price per slot, regardless of quality; first day free with no card. See StreamNeo pricing for current options.
OBS Studio Free local software for operators who want control and can leave a computer running. A media source can loop a video. The computer running OBS must remain on and connected. Cost is no software subscription according to the comparison; hardware, electricity, and connectivity are your responsibility. Confirm destination settings in OBS and YouTube.
Upstream Cloud option identified for continuous video streaming. Verify whether the chosen plan supports the required playlist repetition and runtime; the comparison does not independently establish current limits. Check current destination support and pricing with Upstream.
Gyre Cloud option identified for 24/7 video streaming. Confirm playlist behavior and any maximum runtime for the selected plan. Check current destinations and pricing with Gyre.
Live247 Server-side video or audio playlist looping, described as billed by use. Confirm how the service treats continuous playback and playlist repetition. The comparison reported an approximate monthly equivalent of $19.94 for one continuous stream at 1080p or lower, derived from its stated hourly rate. This is a time-sensitive comparison figure, not a verified current quote; check Live247 directly.
Castr Video hosting and playout service. The comparison places looping on a higher plan; confirm the current plan and its runtime rules. Check current destination support, included capacity, and pricing with Castr.
OneStream Scheduled prerecorded streaming. The comparison describes a YouTube-only 24/7 add-on. Verify its current conditions and whether it matches your playlist workflow. Check the current add-on price, destinations, and limits with OneStream.
LiveReacting The incumbent option, with a vendor-described 24/7 plan. Its pricing page describes playlist looping and no service-set stream time limit on that plan. Storage, file-size, and destination caps are plan-specific. The pricing page describes one concurrent stream by default. Confirm current plan details and price on LiveReacting’s pricing page.
StreamYard Adjacent fit for browser-based live shows and guests. The comparison notes restrictions on continuous prerecorded playback; do not assume it supports an indefinitely looping playlist. Check current destinations and plan restrictions if you need a live-production studio rather than unattended playout.
Restream Adjacent fit for multistreaming and live production. The comparison notes restrictions on continuous prerecorded playback; verify whether its current workflow meets your runtime needs. Check current destinations and pricing for your intended use.

Which alternative fits your use case?

For a cloud loop that does not depend on your computer

Start with StreamNeo if you want to upload videos, add your YouTube stream key once, and let the cloud keep the channel live. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. Every plan includes the same product; only the billing period changes. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera.

Other cloud candidates to evaluate are Upstream, Gyre, Live247, Castr, OneStream, and LiveReacting. Check the specific plan for playlist repetition, unattended runtime, reconnect behavior, storage and file-size limits, concurrent streams, and destinations. The available comparison identifies these services but does not independently verify their current plan details.

For no software subscription and local control

Choose OBS Studio if you are comfortable operating a computer continuously and want to manage the playback and stream yourself. The software option is described as free, but “free” does not include the cost or reliability of the always-on computer and network connection. You are responsible for recovering the stream if the computer, OBS, or connection stops.

For guests, browser shows, or multistreaming

StreamYard and Restream may fit a live show with guests or a multistreaming workflow better than a continuous prerecorded loop. The comparison notes restrictions on continuous prerecorded playback for both, so treat them as adjacent options and verify the exact feature and runtime on the current plan before choosing one for 24/7 playout.

What to verify before switching

Ask each provider these questions using the actual videos and destinations you intend to use. A successful short test is more useful than relying on a generic “prerecorded streaming” label.

  • Playback: Can one video repeat? Can a playlist repeat in order? Can you mix video and audio, and what happens when a file ends or fails?
  • Runtime: Is there a maximum duration per stream, a service-set stopping point, or a required restart? Does the plan explicitly allow continuous unattended playback?
  • Destination: Does the plan stream to YouTube, and does it support any additional destination or custom RTMP endpoint you need?
  • Recovery: What happens if YouTube disconnects, the provider loses its upstream connection, or a source file cannot be played? Is a restart automatic or manual?
  • Capacity: Check file-size and storage caps, concurrent-stream allowance, resolution and frame-rate limits, and whether an add-on is required.
  • Cost: Compare the recurring plan price and any add-ons against your intended run length. For a local setup, include power, hardware, and the cost of keeping a reliable connection available.
  • Archive: Decide whether you need a recording independent of YouTube’s live archive, and test how you will retain it.

Set up a YouTube loop with OBS Studio

OBS is the do-it-yourself route: video playback happens on the computer, and OBS sends the stream to YouTube. Keep that computer awake, OBS open, and the network connected for the entire broadcast. YouTube’s labels can change; the path below describes the standard workflow, so use the current Live Control Room labels if they differ.

  1. Prepare the video. Make sure you have permission to stream every video, image, and audio track. Use a file OBS can play reliably and test its full duration locally before scheduling a long broadcast.
  2. Create the YouTube live stream. In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live to enter the Live Control Room. Set the stream title, description, visibility, and any audience settings. Create or select the stream and locate its stream key and server URL.
  3. Protect the stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and connect the account or enter the stream key as prompted. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
  4. Add and loop the source. In the OBS scene, add a Media Source, select the video file, and enable Loop. Confirm the audio is audible, the picture fits the canvas, and playback restarts as expected. OBS loops the selected media source; a playlist requires a separate playlist workflow or a suitable source/plugin, so test that exact setup rather than assuming one file’s loop setting repeats a whole playlist.
  5. Set output and video values. In OBS, open Settings > Output and select an encoder available on your computer. In Settings > Video, set the base canvas and output resolution to match the intended stream, and choose a frame rate supported by the source and upload connection. In Settings > Output, use a keyframe interval of 2 seconds where the encoder exposes it, and choose a bitrate and encoder preset appropriate to the resolution, frame rate, and available upload bandwidth. YouTube’s live encoder recommendations can change; consult its current guidance rather than treating one bitrate as universal. Leave headroom for network variation, and check OBS’s dropped frames and rendering indicators during a test.
  6. Run a private or unlisted test. Start streaming from OBS and confirm the preview, audio, resolution, and connection status in the Live Control Room. Let the source reach its end once to verify it loops, then check that the broadcast remains healthy before using the setup for a public long-running stream.
  7. Start and monitor. Start streaming in OBS and start the broadcast in YouTube if the Live Control Room requires a separate confirmation. Monitor both OBS and YouTube until the stream is stable. Disable sleep and automatic shutdown on the computer, keep OBS open, and arrange a way to notice a stopped stream or network failure.

YouTube monetization and copyright are separate from the streaming tool

A service that can loop a video does not make that video eligible for monetization or grant rights to use it. YouTube’s channel monetization policy applies its video policies to Shorts, long-form videos, and live streams. It says monetized content should be original and authentic rather than mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative; reused material must add significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value. YouTube states: “Our reviewers will check your channel and content against our policies.” See YouTube’s channel monetization policies. Copyright rules still apply. A loop of footage you own is not, by itself, a guarantee of monetization eligibility.

Check licenses and permissions for all video, music, artwork, and other included material before going live. A streaming tool does not clear third-party rights or prevent policy enforcement.

Plan for the YouTube archive limit

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That makes a continuous 24/7 broadcast a poor sole source for a complete replay. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance. If you need a complete recording, arrange and test a separate recording or backup instead of relying on the live archive.

Or let it run in the cloud

With StreamNeo, upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home: the stream runs from the cloud, so your computer can be off. The video streams as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers. If YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo automatically recovers. The first day is free with no card; the monthly option is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are accepted in India, and card checkout is available worldwide.
