Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →To hide a finished YouTube gaming stream replay, open YouTube Studio and go to Content > Live. Open the archive, change Visibility to Private or Unlisted, then select Done and Save. Choose Private for restricted access; choose Unlisted if sharing by link is acceptable.
Change a finished stream archive’s visibility
- Sign in to YouTube Studio for the channel that owns the stream.
- From the left menu, select Content.
- Open the Live tab to find live uploads.
- Select the stream archive to open its details.
- Under Visibility, choose Private or Unlisted.
- Select Done, then Save.
YouTube’s Studio Live tab is also where past, current, and upcoming streams are listed. If by “rerun” you mean a separately uploaded recording rather than a live archive, find it under Content, open its details, and change its Visibility setting there.
Private or Unlisted: which should you choose?
| Setting | Who can watch | Discovery and comments | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private | The channel owner and viewers the owner selects. YouTube’s private-sharing workflow requires entering viewers’ email addresses. | It does not appear in the channel’s Videos tab or search results. Comments are unavailable. | When access should be limited to specific people. |
| Unlisted | Anyone with the link can watch and reshare it; viewers do not need a Google Account. | It generally does not appear in search results or the channel’s Videos tab, but it may appear in search if added to a public playlist. Comments are available. | When convenient link sharing and comments matter, and link forwarding is acceptable. |
Unlisted is not confidential: anyone who gets the link can pass it along. Use Private if that possibility is not acceptable.
If you meant a stream that has not started yet
YouTube lets streamers set a live stream to Public, Private, or Unlisted. To prepare a broadcast, use YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room to create or schedule it and review its privacy setting. A stream’s type can be set to Gaming; the encoder workflow includes a Details page where stream settings can be edited. These are pre-broadcast settings, not the archive-editing steps above.

If the replay is missing, or privacy changes affect clips
The archive is not listed
Check YouTube Studio > Content > Live first. Streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but YouTube cautions that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Not every ended stream is guaranteed to have an available archive; keep a local recording if you need a backup.
You want to preserve clips
Changing the source archive to Private removes clips made from it. Clips made from an Unlisted source remain available, so account for that before switching an archive to Private.

An old Unlisted link no longer works
YouTube says Unlisted videos uploaded before January 1, 2017 were made Private starting July 23, 2021 unless their creators opted out. This legacy change may explain why an older link stopped working; it does not describe ordinary recent gaming archives.
You are deciding whether to keep the archive public
YouTube automatically uploads live archives by default, and creators can organize archives and highlights into playlists. Keeping an archive Public may support discovery, but it is a promotional choice—not a way to restrict access.
