The published specifications make those questions worth asking, but they do not answer them.
1. Is the Razr Fold’s outer screen easier to use?
Motorola’s UK product page lists a 6.6-inch outer display for the Razr Fold; Samsung’s US product page lists a 5.5-inch cover screen for the Galaxy Z Fold8. Those figures point to a clear size difference on paper, but they come from different regional product pages and do not establish which screen is more comfortable.
For quick replies, typing, or one-handed tasks, I’d check how much of the screen I can reach and whether the keyboard feels practical. Diagonal measurement alone can’t tell you how the screen’s shape, interface, or hand position will feel.
Motorola’s UK Razr Fold product page and Samsung’s US Galaxy Z Fold8 page list the respective screen sizes.

2. Does the open screen make apps and content more useful?
Motorola lists an 8.1-inch inner display for the Razr Fold, compared with 7.6 inches for the Z Fold8 on Samsung’s US page. Samsung says the Z Fold8’s new aspect ratio is optimized for a wide range of content. Neither the diagonal measurements nor that description establishes which phone offers the better layout in actual use.
If you compare them in person, look at the apps you use most: whether text is comfortable to read, video uses the screen well, and split-screen tasks leave enough room for each app. A larger diagonal can create more space, but the layout and app behavior determine whether that space helps.

Samsung’s July 2026 Galaxy Unpacked first look describes the Z Fold8 aspect ratio. The display sizes are listed on the manufacturers’ product pages.
3. How does the Razr Fold’s weight feel to carry?
Motorola’s UK support specifications list the Razr Fold at 243 g. That is a useful figure to know, but it does not tell me whether the phone feels comfortable in a pocket, during long sessions, or when held open. The available Samsung specification here does not establish an equivalent Z Fold8 weight, so a weight ranking would not be justified.

Check how the Razr Fold feels both closed and open, including when holding it for reading or using the camera. Motorola’s UK support specifications provide the 243 g figure.
4. Does battery testing match the capacity figures?
Motorola’s regional Razr Fold material advertises a 6000 mAh battery; Samsung Mobile Press lists 4800 mAh for the Galaxy Z Fold8. These are manufacturer capacity specifications, not comparable tests of runtime. They do not establish which phone lasts longer, charges faster, or retains capacity better over time.

For a meaningful comparison, look for testing of both exact models under comparable conditions, with the test workload and settings stated. Until then, treat capacity as one specification—not a verdict on battery life.

5. What should I verify about performance and software support?
Samsung Mobile Press names Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy as the Z Fold8 processor. The available official information does not confirm an equivalent primary-source processor specification for the Razr Fold, or provide comparable sustained-use results. That is not enough evidence to declare one phone faster.
For demanding multitasking, check model-specific performance testing rather than relying on a chipset name alone. For software support, look for an explicit support commitment for the exact Razr Fold model and market, then compare it with the commitment for the Z Fold8. Without verified figures for both devices, claims about long-term support or performance would be premature.
