“Navi 44 XL” is a GPU codename that leaker Olrak29 was reported to have spotted in a shipping manifest in August 2024. The entry is evidence of a reported shipment listing—not confirmation of a retail graphics card. AMD has not confirmed a Navi 44 XL product name, specifications, price, or launch date in the cited sources.

What the Navi 44 XL manifest reportedly showed

Tom’s Hardware reported on August 31, 2024, that Olrak29 had spotted “Navi 44 XL” silicon in a shipping manifest. The report described the entry as including a shipment date, an HS customs classification code, and a goods description. It did not identify the shipment’s origin, destination, or recipient.

That is a limited record. A manifest entry can indicate that goods were listed for shipment, but it does not establish that AMD shipped a finished retail graphics card, that a product was ready to launch, or when a launch might happen. The report did not provide public evidence to settle those questions.

Is Navi 44 XL an RX 8600 or RX 9060?

Neither name is confirmed by the cited reporting or AMD’s cited announcements. The 2024 report floated a low-end or budget position and possible Radeon RX 8000 branding as speculation. It did not establish a final retail name or a mapping from Navi 44 XL to a particular Radeon card.

AMD’s ROCm open-source software stack had references to Navi 44 and Navi 48, according to the report. Those references do not establish that Navi 44 XL became a specific retail model. No published specification in the cited sources identifies Navi 44 XL’s compute units, memory, clock speed, power, performance, price, or release date.

What AMD has confirmed about RDNA 4

AMD officially unveiled RDNA 4 and announced the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 on February 28, 2025. AMD said availability would begin March 6, 2025, and named board partners including Acer, ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX, and Yeston. This confirms those RX 9000-series products; it does not identify either card as Navi 44 XL.

AMD described RDNA 4 as supporting up to 64 compute units, third-generation ray-tracing accelerators, and second-generation AI accelerators. AMD also claimed up to 8× INT8 throughput per AI accelerator for sparse matrices versus RDNA 3, and FSR 4 support in more than 30 games at launch. These are AMD’s stated capabilities, not independent test results.

What the leak does—and does not—tell buyers

  • It tells you: a report attributed to Olrak29 described a “Navi 44 XL” entry in a shipping manifest in August 2024.
  • It does not tell you: whether the entry represented a finished consumer GPU, which Radeon name it might use, or its specifications and launch timing.
  • It does not make the RX 9070 XT or RX 9070 Navi 44 XL products: AMD’s cited launch materials confirm those cards as RDNA 4 products, but do not connect them to the manifest codename.

For readers comparing known RDNA 4 cards, the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 have published specifications and announcement prices. For Navi 44 XL, the cited public information stops at the reported manifest entry; treating a rumored tier or model number as a confirmed buying option would go beyond the available evidence.
