Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteStart with the page content you control—images, links, headings, tables, and color choices—then test the visitor-facing page with a keyboard and a scanner. A WordPress accessibility checker can help find issues, but it cannot certify a site as accessible. Problems in theme, plugin, or custom-code output usually need the responsible developer or qualified remediation help.
What WordPress accessibility standards do—and do not—guarantee
WordPress says its administration area and bundled themes aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA where possible, but it does not guarantee that every theme is compliant. A theme labeled “accessibility-ready” has been checked against basic requirements; that label is not a guarantee that every page or interaction on your site works for every visitor. See WordPress’s accessibility best practices.
WordPress Developer Resources sets an expectation that ecosystem code—including WordPress core, WordPress.org sites, and official plugins—conform to WCAG 2.2 AA. Its standards also encourage interface practices that help authors create accessible content. These project standards do not establish the legal obligations for an individual site, which depend on jurisdiction and circumstances. See the WordPress Accessibility Coding Standards.
Find the problem before changing the site
Use a checker to build a page-by-page list, not to produce a pass/fail verdict. For each flagged issue, record the page, the affected element, whether it comes from editable content or shared theme/plugin output, and what you changed. Re-scan after edits, then inspect the rendered page yourself. This makes it easier to spot repeated faults from a shared template rather than fixing the same symptom on many pages.

Equalize Digital’s Accessibility Checker listing describes scans and reports in the editor and on the front end. Its free version scans posts and pages, but not custom post types such as WooCommerce products; the vendor says full-site scanning and custom-post-type checks require Pro. Features can change, so check the current listing before relying on a particular coverage level.
The plugin documentation cautions that automated tools cannot ensure a site is fully accessible. In its words, “True accessibility can only be achieved through a combination of automated scans, manual review, and remediation of identified problems.” A flag is a lead to investigate: some findings need context, and some barriers require keyboard or assistive-technology review that a scanner cannot replace.
Fix common problems in content you edit
Write useful image alternatives
For an informative image, add alternative text that conveys its purpose or relevant information in the page’s context. A product image, for example, may need to communicate a distinguishing feature rather than simply say “photo.” For a decorative image that adds no information, use WordPress’s decorative-image handling rather than adding redundant text. A missing-alt warning is useful, but a person must decide whether the alternative is accurate and helpful. See Equalize Digital’s guidance on missing alt text.

Make links and controls understandable
Replace vague labels such as “click here” or repeated “read more” with wording that identifies the destination or action. A link’s surrounding context can help, but a meaningful label is easier to understand when encountered on its own. Give buttons and form controls visible, associated labels and names that assistive technology can expose. Review the actual rendered control and nearby instructions; a scan may identify some missing labels or ambiguous links without showing whether the interaction makes sense.

Use headings to show the page outline
Choose heading levels for structure, not just for the font size or visual style. Organize the page so its sections and subsections form an understandable hierarchy. If you want a heading to look smaller or larger, adjust its styling rather than choosing a structurally incorrect level. When a checker flags heading order, review the outline and fix the structure in the editor where possible.
Mark up data tables with headers
Use tables for data that belongs in rows and columns, not for visual page layout. Identify header cells so visitors can understand what each row or column represents. If a checker flags table headings, determine whether the table is genuinely tabular data and add appropriate headers in the editor.

Correct contrast and avoid color-only meaning
If a checker reports low contrast, adjust the text or background color in the block, theme, or design system, then verify the actual rendered combination. Do not use color as the only way to communicate status or meaning; pair it with text, an icon with an accessible name, or another clear cue. Automated color checks may not account reliably for every gradient, image, transparency, or interaction state, so inspect those cases directly.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Test keyboard access on the visitor-facing page
Use the page without a mouse. WordPress Developer Resources summarizes WCAG Guideline 2.1 with the instruction: “Make all functionality available from a keyboard.” Try the navigation, links, forms, dialogs, and other interactive components. Check that you can reach and operate them, see where focus is, and move out of each component rather than becoming trapped. The project’s accessibility standards identify keyboard access under the Operable principle.
Test the public page, not only the WordPress editor: themes and plugins can add or change the controls visitors encounter. If a component cannot be operated, focus disappears, or you cannot leave it using the keyboard, note the page and component and report it to the developer responsible for that output.

Escalate barriers that are not in the content
If an issue comes from a theme, plugin, or custom code and cannot be fixed in the editor, contact the responsible developer with the affected URL, the steps that reveal the problem, and the expected behavior. A clear reproduction helps distinguish a shared code defect from a single page’s content issue. If the barrier remains unresolved or affects an important task such as navigation or completing a form, arrange qualified accessibility remediation.
A scan, accessibility overlay, theme label, or published accessibility statement is not proof that every part of a site conforms. Use tools to prioritize work, verify changes on the rendered site, and seek expert help for persistent code-level problems.
