Yes. Apparent promotional images of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 circulated in early July 2024, about a week before Samsung officially announced both phones at its July 10 Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris. The images offered an early look at the devices, but Samsung’s launch materials—not the leaks—confirmed the announcement and July 24 retail availability.
What leaked before Unpacked?
On July 4, 2024, Android Central reported that tipster Evan Blass had shared marketing images for the Fold6 and Flip6. Android Authority also described full-page screenshots that appeared to show official promotional material. The timing and detail made the leak notable: it surfaced shortly before Samsung’s scheduled July 10 event.
Separate reporting on July 3 described Flip6 images showing recognizable hardware and a use-mode demonstration. These were leaks reported by technology outlets, not Samsung’s formal confirmation of the phones.

Galaxy Z Flip6
The reported Flip6 images showed its cover screen, two rear cameras, a black border around the display, and Flex Mode. That provided visual context for the clamshell design and how the phone could be positioned in Flex Mode, but images alone did not establish the full specifications or retail details.

Galaxy Z Fold6
The reports described marketing images for the Fold6, but the material summarized here does not establish a comparable list of specific Fold6 design details. The clearest distinction supported by the launch context is its book-style foldable form factor, rather than the Flip6’s clamshell shape.
| Model | Form factor | Leak details established in contemporaneous reporting |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Z Fold6 | Book-style foldable | Marketing images were reported; further image details are not stated in the cited coverage summarized here. |
| Galaxy Z Flip6 | Clamshell foldable | Cover screen, twin cameras, black display border, and Flex Mode were reported. |
When did Samsung announce and release the phones?
Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 at Galaxy Unpacked in Paris on July 10, 2024. Samsung said pre-orders opened that day and general availability began July 24, 2024. In its U.S. release information, Samsung listed Amazon stores among the pre-order channels.

What Samsung confirmed beyond the leaked images
Samsung’s July 2024 launch materials positioned both foldables around Galaxy AI. In its official U.S. launch release, Samsung Electronics said: “Our foldables meet the unique needs of every user and now enhanced by the power of Galaxy AI, Samsung is delivering an experience like never before.” That was Samsung’s launch positioning, rather than a detail established by the leaked pictures.

Samsung Mobile Press also said the Fold6’s vapor chamber was approximately 1.6 times the size of the Galaxy Z Fold5’s. This is a relative size comparison from Samsung’s 2024 technical follow-up; it does not, by itself, establish a measured performance improvement.

The images were useful as a preview of the phones’ appearance, especially the Flip6’s visible design cues. They were not a substitute for launch information. For specifications, availability, and final product details, Samsung’s July 10 announcement is the authoritative source; the leaks establish what technology outlets reported seeing beforehand, not every final feature or market-specific offer.
