Mine says it helps people find and manage their personal data exposure online. Its current site also presents MineOS, a separate product for organizations. The key distinction is that Mine’s detailed account of finding companies, sending deletion requests, and tracking replies dates to 2021; it should not be taken as confirmation that every step works the same way today.
What is Mine?
Mine is a privacy technology company with two product lines on its current homepage: MineAPP for individuals managing personal data online, and MineOS for organizations handling privacy, security, and compliance work. Mine describes MineAPP as a way to manage personal data exposure “to minimize exposure and reduce risk.”
Mine’s homepage displays “5,000,000+ consumers” and “500+ companies.” These are figures published by Mine; the homepage does not present them as independently verified totals.
Can Mine track down which companies have your data?
Mine’s historical consumer-product description says it could help users discover companies associated with their personal data. In a December 5, 2021 post about its “My Activity” page, Mine described a three-part process: discover companies, send requests, then monitor company responses and any actions the user needed to take.

Mine’s post said the service could analyze responses and display statuses such as a request in process, awaiting a response, requiring user action, or completed. It also claimed: “In 30 sec you can discover your digital footprint and see all companies that hold your personal data.” That is Mine’s own claim from 2021, not an independently verified speed or completeness test.
Those details explain how Mine described its service at the time, not necessarily the current MineAPP experience. The current homepage establishes the product’s general purpose, but does not confirm that the 2021 discovery and request-tracking features remain available in precisely that form.

How did Mine’s focus evolve?
In a December 5, 2023 report, TechCrunch described Mine’s expansion from a consumer privacy product toward business and enterprise use cases. The report characterized the earlier consumer product as scanning email subject lines with AI and natural-language processing to identify companies associated with a user’s data. That account is useful company history, not current technical documentation.
Today, Mine’s site reflects both sides of that evolution: a consumer-facing MineAPP and an organizational MineOS. The products address related privacy concerns, but they are aimed at different users and should not be treated as interchangeable.

What to check before using Mine
If you are considering Mine to find companies or request deletion of your data, check the current MineAPP information and the steps available in the product before relying on the historical workflow. In particular, confirm which companies it can identify, what information or account access it needs, whether you must submit or complete requests yourself, and how it reports replies.
A discovery result or request status is not, by itself, proof that every company holding your information has been found or that a company has deleted all copies. The sources cited here do not establish MineAPP’s current detailed capabilities or independently compare its effectiveness with other services.
