How to judge a “full source code” export
A source export is valuable when it gives you a usable project rather than a preview tied to the builder. One comparable vendor says its React/Vite project can be exported to GitHub or ZIP and has no proprietary runtime. That claim is specific to that vendor and should not be assumed to describe another generator. Check the export itself before relying on it.

Inspect the files and dependencies
Look for application source, package and dependency files, configuration, images, and any 3D assets the page needs. Read the project instructions for the required runtime and start/build commands. If the export omits assets, relies on remote services, or lacks dependency documentation, the site may not be independently reproducible even if some source files are present.
Run it outside the builder
Try the documented install, local development, and production build steps in a clean copy of the exported project. Confirm that the page runs without signing in to the generator, and identify any external APIs or hosted assets it still depends on. A GitHub or ZIP download is a delivery method; it does not by itself prove that the project is portable or deployable.

Separate website source from 3D asset export
Downloading a website project and exporting a 3D scene into another file format are different operations. The Three.js USDZExporter documentation describes an addon that takes a scene and emits USDZ, with options covering such things as visible objects, textures, and animation data. It is not a way to download the website’s source repository.

Make the 3D scene serve the portfolio
Visual immersion is not the same as effective portfolio storytelling. Before polishing effects, make sure visitors can identify what you did, see the work, and find a way to contact you. A scene that hides these basics behind scroll gestures or long load times can undermine the portfolio.
- Content editing: Check whether titles, descriptions, project order, and links live in straightforward content files, or require changes inside scene code.
- Mobile behavior: Test on a phone, including touch interaction, text size, loading, and whether the scene remains usable without a mouse.
- Reduced motion: Confirm that motion-sensitive visitors have a calmer experience. A template’s documented support is a useful feature of that template, not a guarantee about generated sites.
- Performance and focus: Ensure the 3D experience does not make project details, navigation, or contact links difficult to reach.
