When and where was Tutorial Day?
The conference took place at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. See the archived conference schedule and event overview.
What did the tutorial program cover?
The organizer listed a broad technical program spanning data science, machine learning, cloud computing, streaming systems, governance, and visualization. Examples in the schedule show the range of formats and subjects:
- A morning tutorial on scalable, end-to-end data science with R and Python.
- A PyTorch session focused on building a recommender system.
- A tutorial on Kafka stream processing.
- Afternoon sessions on natural language processing with spaCy and Spark NLP, and on data visualization with Python.

How did tutorials differ from training courses?
The archived organizer information describes tutorials as all-day or half-day sessions led by subject-matter experts. It says tutorial access required a Gold or Silver pass, and those passes did not include the separately scheduled training courses. These details describe the 2018 event only, not current registration options. View the archived tutorial information.
Several tutorials ran concurrently, so a single attendee could not necessarily attend every listed session. The schedule is best read as a set of choices by subject, duration, and time slot rather than as one sequence everyone followed.
