Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsNo—not on the evidence available. Dell has supplied server systems for AI workloads at facilities operated by companies with ties to Bitcoin mining, but that does not make Dell the mining-site operator or host. The documented examples distinguish Dell’s role as an equipment supplier from the facility services and ASIC-based mining work handled by other companies.
What the announcements actually establish
The clearest recent Dell-specific example is IREN’s May 26, 2026 purchase agreement for air-cooled Blackwell systems. IREN says the systems are for its AI cloud contract and are planned for its existing Childress, Texas data centers, with commissioning targeted for early 2027. The approximately $1.6 billion purchase price covers GPUs, servers, storage, networking, ancillary equipment, integration services, and warranties. IREN identifies Dell as the seller; the announcement does not describe Dell operating or hosting Bitcoin mining there. IREN’s announcement.
A second example is TeraWulf’s Lake Mariner facility in New York. In December 2024, TeraWulf described long-term leases for more than 70 MW of data-center infrastructure for Core42 AI deployment, including Dell liquid-cooled PowerEdge XE9680L GPU servers and Dell IR5000 integrated racks. TeraWulf’s site supports Bitcoin mining as well as HPC hosting, but the Dell equipment in this announcement is for Core42’s AI workloads—not evidence that Dell runs the mining operation. TeraWulf’s announcement.
Supplier, host and miner: different roles
A data-center campus can contain infrastructure for more than one kind of computing, and a company may supply equipment without providing the services that make a site a mining host. The distinction is important here:

| Company or project | Documented role | Workload or service |
|---|---|---|
| Dell | Equipment supplier in the cited agreements | GPU systems for AI workloads at IREN and Core42 deployments; no cited announcement says Dell operates Bitcoin-mining sites. |
| IREN / Childress | Customer and AI cloud provider | Plans to deploy Dell Blackwell systems for an AI cloud contract. |
| TeraWulf / Lake Mariner | Data-center infrastructure operator and lessor | Infrastructure for Bitcoin mining and HPC hosting; the cited Dell systems support Core42 AI workloads. |
| Soluna / Project Dorothy 2 | Power-management and data-center operations provider | Hosting infrastructure and on-site support for Blockware’s Bitcoin-mining operation. |
| Blockware | Mining-services and ASIC provider in Soluna’s announcement | Supplies next-generation ASICs for hosted Bitcoin mining. |
Soluna’s June 18, 2025 announcement is a useful contrast because it describes the facility role directly: Soluna provides power management, data-center operations, and on-site support for Blockware’s mining hosting at Project Dorothy 2 in Texas. The announcement added 3 MW of hosting, bringing the site’s contracted footprint to 8 MW at that time. It does not identify Dell as the host or operator. Soluna’s SEC-filed announcement.
Why AI server deals do not mean Bitcoin mining
The cited deployments use different computing hardware for different work. Bitcoin mining in Soluna’s announcement involves application-specific integrated circuits, or ASICs, supplied for mining. The IREN and Core42 announcements describe GPU servers for AI workloads. A GPU server installation at a campus that also hosts mining does not establish that those GPUs are mining Bitcoin, or that the equipment supplier is operating the mining facility.

Likewise, data-center hosting means more than delivering servers. The Soluna description includes power management, site operations, and on-site support. TeraWulf’s announcement describes infrastructure and leased capacity. The Dell announcements establish hardware supply and related services, not the full set of facility-hosting responsibilities for Bitcoin mining.
What about Dell’s connection to GPU mining?
ITPro’s May 20, 2025 coverage of Dell Technologies World quoted CoreWeave co-founder and chief strategy officer Brian Venturo discussing CoreWeave’s GPU-mining origins and its engineering relationship with Dell. That is background on a customer relationship and GPU-mining history; it is not an announcement that Dell operates Bitcoin-mining data centers. ITPro’s event report.

What the dates and figures do—and do not—show
- December 23, 2024: TeraWulf announced more than 70 MW of Lake Mariner infrastructure leased for Core42 AI deployment, using Dell liquid-cooled GPU systems. The figure describes announced infrastructure capacity for that deployment, not Bitcoin-mining capacity supplied or operated by Dell. TeraWulf’s announcement.
- June 18, 2025: Soluna reported that an additional 3 MW of Blockware hosting brought Project Dorothy 2’s contracted footprint to 8 MW. These are company-reported hosting figures from that announcement, not a current capacity guarantee. Soluna’s SEC-filed announcement.
- May 26, 2026: IREN announced an approximately $1.6 billion Dell purchase agreement for AI systems and related equipment. The planned Childress commissioning was targeted for early 2027, so the announcement describes a transaction and deployment plan, not proof that the systems were already commissioned. IREN’s announcement.
IREN also discussed a projected $4.4 billion annualized run-rate revenue target. That is a forward-looking company estimate contingent on assumptions and timely GPU delivery; it includes planned deployments and is not fully contracted revenue. It should not be read as revenue already earned or as evidence of Bitcoin-mining operations.

The announcements support a narrower conclusion than the headline claim: Dell supplies data-center systems to companies whose campuses or histories intersect with Bitcoin mining, while the cited AI deployments use GPUs for AI workloads. Facility hosting and mining operations are attributed to other companies in the examples. The sources cited here do not establish that Dell directly mines Bitcoin or operates Bitcoin-mining data centers.
