The 55-inch LG B5 OLED, model OLED55B5PUA, was reported at $799.99 at Amazon on April 12, 2026—a price HotHardware described as an all-time low matched only once before. That is a historical deal, not proof that the TV is still available at that price: check the live listing, stock, and checkout total before buying.
What “lowest price ever” means for the LG B5
HotHardware reported the $799.99 Amazon price on April 12, 2026, and said the 55-inch model had reached that price only briefly once before. The same report listed Best Buy at $899.99. Later coverage shows why the claim needs a date: TechRadar reported a $799.99 Best Buy Memorial Day price, while Tom’s Guide listed the TV at $899 in a September 2026 deal roundup.

Is the LG B5 worth buying at $799.99?
At the reported $799.99 US price, the B5 is a compelling option if you want OLED contrast, movie-friendly HDR formats, and current-generation gaming features without stepping up to a more expensive LG tier. LG identifies the model as a 55-inch OLED AI B5 4K Smart TV and lists an Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen2, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, FILMMAKER MODE, NVIDIA G-Sync, and 120Hz refresh rate. Its Canadian product page specifies 3,840 x 2,160 resolution. LG US product page · LG Canada product page

The B5 is LG’s entry-level OLED line, but that describes its place in the lineup rather than removing the core OLED benefits. Its self-lit pixels deliver the contrast that makes OLED attractive for films and dark-room viewing. The trade-off is brightness: HotHardware cautions that viewers with exceptionally bright rooms may prefer a brighter OLED or mini-LED TV instead. HotHardware
How the B5 fits PS5, Xbox, and PC gaming
HotHardware describes the B5 as having a native 120Hz panel and four HDMI 2.1 inputs. LG lists NVIDIA G-Sync and a 120Hz refresh rate. Together, these features make the TV a strong fit for gamers seeking 4K/120Hz support, although the benefits depend on a compatible game system or PC, game, and settings. LG · HotHardware

- PC: G-Sync support is relevant to compatible gaming setups. Check the graphics card, connection, and game settings for the modes you plan to use.
- Connections: HotHardware reports four HDMI 2.1 inputs, useful if you want to connect multiple modern gaming devices without frequently swapping cables. HotHardware
Should you buy now or wait for a newer model?
The B5 is a 2025 model, and later coverage says low stock is emerging as newer B6 sets replace it. That makes waiting a trade-off: prices may change, but remaining B5 inventory may also become harder to find. Neither the historical low nor the reports of low stock establish what is available at a particular retailer today. TechRadar
If the set is in stock near $799.99 and suits your room and gaming needs, the reported deal is a strong historical benchmark. At around $899, compare the actual B5 offer with current alternatives in your market rather than assuming the earlier low will return. For a bright, sunlit room, prioritize reviews and specifications for peak brightness or consider mini-LED alongside OLED; the available evidence does not establish a numeric brightness comparison for the B5 or its alternatives.
