AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.3.2 was a Windows graphics-driver release dated March 22, 2023. It added support for Resident Evil 4 Remake and The Last of Us Part I, and included fixes for several game, display, and software issues. Its driver version was 22.40.43.01. In 2026, it is best reserved for legacy troubleshooting or reproducing an older setup; most users should choose a newer compatible driver from AMD.
What AMD Adrenalin 23.3.2 is
The title combines the public Adrenalin release number, the underlying driver version, and the release date. It is one AMD graphics-driver package, not a separate application or hardware product. AMD identifies it as consumer AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

AMD’s 23.3.2 release notes are an archive of this release, not a recommendation to use it as a current driver.
What the release added
AMD listed support for Resident Evil 4 Remake, The Last of Us Part I, and additional Vulkan extensions. The release notes describe compatibility and feature support; they do not promise a universal frame-rate increase or guarantee a particular level of performance in either game.

Issues AMD said it fixed
These are fixes AMD listed for 23.3.2. They do not guarantee that every occurrence of a similar problem was resolved.
Games
- Crashes in UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection on some AMD graphics products, including Radeon RX 6700 XT.
- Crashes in Genshin Impact on some AMD graphics products, including Radeon RX 6750 XT.
- Corruption in It Takes Two on Radeon RX 7000-series graphics products.
Streaming, displays, and performance testing
- Connection failures or a black screen when using the Parsec client with AMD decoder settings.
- GPU usage dropping during the Performance Tuning Stress Test before the test completed.
- Performance Metrics Overlay resizing on some products, including Radeon RX 6600M.
- Missing overlay units or truncated overlay information after changing display scaling.
Known issues that remained
AMD documented the following as possible problems in this release. A listed issue does not mean every computer or user will experience it.
- High idle power on some Radeon RX 7000-series systems using high-resolution, high-refresh-rate displays.
- Video stutter or lower performance when gaming while playing video on some RX 7000-series extended-display setups.
- Lower-than-expected performance in some virtual-reality applications or games on RX 7000-series products.
- Blurry hardware-accelerated browser video during upscaling on some products, including Radeon RX 7900 XT.
- Brief display corruption when switching between video and game windows on some products, including Radeon RX 6700 XT.
- An invisible mouse cursor in Citrix Workspace.
If your main reason for installing this driver is to address one of these symptoms, 23.3.2 is a poor bet: AMD had already recorded the issue as unresolved in its release notes.

Why Factory Reset was unavailable
AMD temporarily disabled the Factory Reset option in the installer while investigating isolated installation issues reported during PC upgrades. That restriction applied to one installer option; AMD did not say that the driver itself could not be installed. Do not expect Factory Reset to appear when installing 23.3.2.

AMD describes its mobile package as a reference notebook driver with limited support for system-vendor-specific features. For a laptop or all-in-one PC, check the manufacturer’s driver first, especially if you rely on switchable graphics, display hotkeys, power profiles, USB-C display output, docking, or vendor control software.

Ryzen and Athlon processors with Radeon graphics
The release also listed AMD Ryzen processors with Radeon graphics, Ryzen PRO processors, and AMD Athlon processors with Radeon graphics. For laptop and all-in-one systems, AMD recommends the computer manufacturer’s driver because the OEM may customize and validate features for that particular machine.
Should you install 23.3.2?

For an ordinary current installation, get a driver for your exact product and Windows version through AMD’s driver-selection and download guidance, or use the computer manufacturer’s package when its customizations matter. Do not choose 23.3.2 simply because its release notes mention a game you play.
How to install the archived driver
- Confirm the hardware and Windows version. Identify the exact Radeon GPU or Ryzen processor with Radeon graphics, then check that the Windows version and product are covered by AMD’s release notes.
- Check the OEM option first if applicable. Laptop and all-in-one owners should compare AMD’s reference package with the computer maker’s driver before changing anything.
- Prepare for recovery. Record the installed driver version and create a restore point or otherwise ensure you can return to a working configuration. Close games, overlays, monitoring and recording tools, and tuning utilities.
- Obtain the installer through an official route. Prefer AMD’s driver-selection flow or the archived release-note page over a copied, old direct-installer link. AMD says externally accessed deep links may produce an incomplete-download error.
- Run the installer with administrator rights. Follow its prompts. Factory Reset was temporarily disabled for this release.
- Restart if requested, then verify the installation. Check the driver version in AMD Software or Windows Device Manager.
AMD says the package is not intended for Radeon products running through Apple Boot Camp. If the installer reports incompatibility, recheck the GPU, Windows version, and whether the computer uses an OEM-customized configuration.

Troubleshooting installation or display problems
The old download link fails
Use AMD’s driver-selection process rather than repeatedly opening a saved deep link. AMD documents incomplete downloads for some old or externally accessed installer links in its download guidance.
The laptop loses graphics features
Install the computer manufacturer’s graphics driver. AMD’s notebook package is a reference driver and may not include all vendor-specific support.
The installer remains unstable
- Restart Windows and try the installer again.
- If the issue persists, use AMD’s documented AMD Software uninstall procedure, then restart.
- Install the correct package for the exact GPU and Windows version, or use the OEM package for a laptop or all-in-one.

A black screen or other problem starts after installation
If Windows remains accessible, remove the problematic package using AMD’s uninstall instructions and install the last known-good or a newer compatible driver. If Windows cannot start normally, use the appropriate Windows recovery or Safe Mode option to remove the driver. Avoid treating 23.3.2 as a universal fix for black screens, crashes, or driver timeouts; its own release notes documented unresolved display and playback issues.
Video is blurry or stutters
Check whether the symptom occurs during browser-video upscaling or on an extended-display setup while gaming, both of which AMD listed among known issues. Also compare behavior with hardware acceleration disabled and with a simpler display configuration to isolate the trigger.
