What Microlink Extensions include

How the extensions work
Microlink describes the extensions as native Chrome side-panel tools and “thin client[s]” over its API. In practical terms, the extension supplies a browser interface while Microlink’s corresponding API does the rendering or metadata work. Use Web Page Screenshots for visual captures
Choose this extension when you need screenshots without setting up a browser automation script. It supports a single URL or a batch of up to 50 URLs, annotation, social-ready frames, downloads, and 24-hour capture history. It runs on Microlink’s Screenshot API. Use Website to PDF for document output
Choose this when a set of webpages needs to become PDFs rather than images. Paste up to 100 links, select document settings such as paper format and margins, then download the PDFs together in a ZIP. The listing describes a 25-PDF-per-day free allowance and says a Microlink API key can be added for higher limits. Installation and daily limits
Microlink’s Extensions page links to Chrome Web Store installation for each tool and advertises “Free to install · No account · 25 requests a day.” The Website to PDF listing separately says 25 PDFs per day for its free allowance and that adding a Microlink API key raises its limits. Because the wording differs, treat the general 25-requests figure and PDF-specific 25-PDF figure as separate product statements rather than interchangeable quotas. - Open Microlink’s Extensions page and choose the Chrome Web Store link for Web Page Screenshots, Website to PDF, or Sharing Debugger.
- Install the extension from its Chrome Web Store listing.
- Open it from Chrome’s extensions interface or side panel, then enter the URL or URLs manually and choose the available task-specific settings.
- Download or inspect the result in the extension. For PDF batches, the described output is a ZIP containing the PDFs.
Does Website to PDF read your browsing history?
The Website to PDF Chrome Web Store listing says URLs are added manually and the extension does not read open tabs or browsing history. It lists Side Panel, Downloads, Storage, and microlink.io access. This privacy statement applies to the Website to PDF listing; it should not automatically be treated as a verified permissions statement for the other two extensions. Use Microlink from code instead of Chrome
The extensions are useful for interactive, occasional work; API calls fit scheduled captures, product integrations, or repeatable pipelines. Microlink says the extensions use the same API endpoints available from code. For implementation details, parameters, authentication, and current API behavior, consult Microlink’s documentation rather than assuming that an extension control maps one-to-one to a particular parameter. - Use a screenshot endpoint when your output must be an image; use the PDF endpoint when you need document output; use the Metadata endpoint when the objective is link-card diagnostics.
- Keep the URL list and desired output settings in your own application when you need the same job to run repeatedly.
- Check the relevant API documentation for authentication, parameters, response formats, and limits before building a production workflow; the extension page does not establish all of those details.

The extension does not produce a useful capture
Check that the URL was entered correctly and that the page is publicly reachable. A page can render differently in an automated service than in your own logged-in browser; the extension’s published description does not promise access to your local session or account state. If the output is unsuitable, try the other task-specific settings exposed by the extension or use the API documentation to determine whether a programmatic workflow supports the needed controls.

Split the URLs into batches of no more than 100, the published maximum for Website to PDF. For screenshots, the stated batch maximum is 50. If you need a higher PDF allowance than the listing’s free daily allowance, the listing says an API key can be added; verify current limits before planning repeated bulk jobs.
The share preview looks wrong
Use Sharing Debugger to inspect the metadata and platform previews, then apply the suggested fix tags to the page’s metadata. Re-run the check after the page changes. The extension description does not promise that updating metadata instantly refreshes cached previews on third-party social platforms.
The extension asks for permissions
Read the permissions in the exact Chrome Web Store listing before installing. For Website to PDF, the listing names Side Panel, Downloads, Storage, and microlink.io access, and says URLs are entered manually rather than read from tabs or history. The supplied listing information does not establish the permission set for the screenshot and sharing extensions.
Can you use Microlink without an extension?
Yes. Microlink states that the browser extensions call the same API endpoints available from code.
