A LinkedIn post screenshot generator creates a static image that resembles a LinkedIn post; it does not publish anything to LinkedIn or prove that a person wrote the text or received the displayed engagement. For a quick mockup, use a browser-based generator such as the Anarchy Labs example, edit only information you are authorized to show, export the image, and label it as illustrative when viewers could mistake it for a real post.
What a LinkedIn post screenshot generator actually creates
The output is a rendered image, usually a PNG, of a single-post layout. It is useful for a presentation, lesson, design review, content brief, or fictional example. It is not a LinkedIn post, does not appear in anyone’s feed, and cannot verify authorship, reactions, comments, reposts, or endorsement.
The Anarchy Labs example describes a browser tool with no signup. According to its vendor page, you can edit profile details, post text, connection degree, reaction count, comment count, repost count, and light or dark appearance. The same page says its export is 2,400 pixels wide and that processing runs in the browser. Those are vendor specifications, not independently tested measurements; the page was marked updated August 2026.
Fields you can usually edit
| Mockup field | Why it matters | Safe-use guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Profile name, headline and avatar | Sets the apparent author and context. | Use your own identity, a fictional identity, or obtain permission before displaying another member’s identifying information. |
| Post copy | Shows the message, links or formatting you want to discuss. | Do not attribute invented statements to a real person without clear disclosure. |
| Connection degree | Changes whether the author appears to be a first-, second- or third-degree connection. | Treat it as design data, not evidence of a real relationship. |
| Reaction, comment and repost counts | Makes the card resemble a live post. | Invented numbers must never be presented as actual performance. |
| Theme | Light and dark variants fit different presentation designs. | Keep the theme consistent with the purpose of the mockup and label the image if realism could confuse viewers. |
How to make a LinkedIn post image
- Choose the purpose. Decide whether the image is an educational illustration, a fictional example, a design comp, or a record of a real post. A generator is appropriate for the first three; a real post screenshot is the correct source for the last.
- Open the generator in a current desktop browser. The Anarchy Labs example says it works in-browser without signup. Browser behavior and available controls can change, so check the current interface before a production run.
- Enter authorized profile details. Use your own name and photo, a clearly fictional profile, or details for which every identifiable person has given permission. Do not copy a member’s information merely to make the card look convincing.
- Write or paste the post text. Keep quotation marks, line breaks and links accurate. If the statement is fictional, add an in-image label such as “Illustration” or “Fictional example.”
- Set connection and engagement values. Use neutral values for a wireframe, or explicitly mark numbers as sample data. Never use the counts to imply that a campaign, person or claim received real support.
- Select light or dark appearance and review the preview. Check spelling, avatar identity, dates, icons, line wrapping and whether any private information is visible.
- Export the image. The vendor says the example exports a 2,400-pixel-wide PNG. Retain the original file and, if you resize it for a presentation or website, avoid cropping out the disclosure that explains its illustrative status.
- Publish with context. Put “mockup,” “illustration,” or an equivalent disclosure beside the image whenever a reasonable viewer could mistake it for a genuine LinkedIn capture.
LinkedIn screenshot and identity rules to consider
LinkedIn’s brand guidance allows screenshots of its homepage, company pages and product pages for instructive, educational or illustrative purposes, but says the brand’s appearance should not be changed or combined with superimposed graphics, photos or ad copy. The guidance also says screenshots showing another member’s image or personal information should meet one of three conditions: show only the creator’s own personally identifiable information, blur the information so members cannot be identified, or obtain written permission from every identified person.

Those instructions address screenshots, while a generator produces an imitation. Applying the same privacy discipline is prudent: minimize personal data, blur or replace identifiers, and keep written permissions with the project files. A realistic card should never be used to suggest that a real member made a statement, endorsed a product or achieved the displayed engagement when that did not happen.
LinkedIn’s User Agreement search result prohibits framing, mirroring or otherwise simulating the appearance or function of its services, and prohibits misleading or deceitful manipulated media. The exact agreement can vary by region and can change, so treat the intended audience, disclosure and context as part of your risk review rather than assuming that every mockup is automatically permitted or prohibited.
LinkedIn also describes limits on inauthentic activity such as engagement pods and automated comments. A static image generator does not itself post, comment or create engagement, but using a mockup to support an automated or deceptive campaign creates a different issue.
Single post versus carousel content
The Anarchy Labs vendor describes its tool as a single-post mockup. A LinkedIn carousel is a document post made from multiple pages, so one long screenshot is not the same workflow. Create one image per page, keep dimensions and typography consistent, and upload the images as a document through LinkedIn’s normal posting interface. Label the set as a concept when the pages are not from a published post.

How to choose a generator
There is no supported evidence here for a reliable market-wide ranking of providers. Compare the current product pages against the fields your project needs instead of assuming that a realistic preview means the same controls or privacy model everywhere.
- Editable fields: confirm profile details, text, connection degree and engagement counts are controllable.
- Appearance: check for light and dark themes and whether typography remains legible at your intended output size.
- Export: verify file type, pixel dimensions and whether the service adds a watermark.
- Privacy: determine whether processing occurs in the browser, whether files are uploaded, and how long any data is retained.
- Access: note whether signup, a payment method or an account is required.
- Workflow: check whether the product creates one post image or supports a multi-page document workflow.
- Disclosure controls: look for an easy way to add “illustration” or another label without altering platform branding.
Common mistakes and fixes
The image looks like evidence of a real post
Cause: realistic profile data and engagement numbers are shown without context. Fix: replace real identifiers with fictional ones, blur member information, and add a visible “mockup” label in the image caption or artwork.
A real person’s profile is used without permission
Cause: copying a recognizable name, photo or headline to make the example persuasive. Fix: use your own details, a fictional profile, or written permission from each identifiable person.
Text or counts are clipped
Cause: long copy, browser zoom or resizing after export. Fix: shorten the copy, inspect the preview at 100 percent, export again, and resize proportionally rather than stretching the image.

A carousel is delivered as one image
Cause: confusing a single-post generator with LinkedIn’s document-post format. Fix: make and export separate page images, then upload them together as a document post.
The interface has changed
Cause: LinkedIn and third-party generators update their layouts and policies. Fix: verify the generator’s current controls and LinkedIn’s current brand and User Agreement pages immediately before release. The Anarchy Labs page cited here was updated August 2026; that date does not guarantee the interface remains unchanged.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API, not a fake-post generator. Use it when you need a clean capture of a real, publicly reachable page that you are authorized to show—for example, a published company page or your own public post. It cannot invent LinkedIn profile fields or engagement counts, and a login-protected feed may return a sign-in page instead of the post.
The one-call request returns PNG, JPEG or WebP (and can return a PDF) and is documented at ScreenshotNeo’s API documentation:

- Browser mockups: are quick for one-off illustrations and keep the vendor’s stated processing in your browser, but they depend on the current page implementation and your local export settings.
- API captures: are easier to repeat in a build or documentation pipeline. Use explicit waits for dynamic content, a fixed viewport, and a cache TTL when identical URLs do not need fresh rendering.
- Authentication: never place LinkedIn passwords in a screenshot URL. Capture only public or properly authorized pages, and review the resulting image for private data.
- Billing: with ScreenshotNeo, inspect
X-Page-VerdictandX-Billedin responses so failed loads and cache hits are distinguishable from clean, billable shots.
FAQ
Does a generated image count as a LinkedIn post?
No. It is a static file. Publishing requires LinkedIn’s own posting interface, and the image itself cannot establish who authored the depicted text.
Can I use a generator to document a real post?
Use an actual, authorized capture for documentation. A recreated card can omit details or add invented engagement, so identify it as a reconstruction rather than an original record.
