To capture several posts from an X thread in one readable image, first open the thread and tap Show this thread if it is truncated. Then use your device’s scrolling-capture feature when available: Android 12 and later may show Capture more; on iPhone, Full Page is documented mainly for webpages such as Safari and may not work inside the X app. If native capture fails, use a desktop thread-capture tool or join overlapping screenshots manually.
What “multiple tweets” means on X
X describes a thread as a series of connected posts from one person. A thread with four or more posts can be shortened in the timeline, so you may see only part of it until you open the conversation and choose Show this thread. Capture only after every post you need is visible; otherwise a long screenshot can faithfully save an incomplete thread.
Before you capture
- Open the author’s profile, post, or bookmark that leads to the thread.
- Select Show this thread whenever X displays that option.
- Wait for images, videos, quoted posts, and reply text to finish loading. Scroll through once if media loads lazily.
- Decide whether you need the entire thread or a range of posts. A shorter image is usually easier to read and share.
- Hide anything you do not want published, such as private notifications or direct-message previews.
Android: use scrolling capture
Android’s official instructions support scrolling screenshots on Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. The option is not guaranteed in every app surface, device skin, or X view, so check for it rather than assuming it will appear.
Steps
- Open the expanded X thread and position the screen at the first post you want.
- Press Power and Volume Down together.
- In the screenshot toolbar, tap Capture more (the label can vary by manufacturer).
- Drag the crop guides downward until the final post is included. Move the top guide if you want to exclude the profile header or an earlier post.
- Tap Save. Open the result in Photos or Gallery and zoom in on the smallest text before sharing.
If “Capture more” is missing
The current screen may not expose a scrollable surface to Android, your phone may use an older Android release, or the manufacturer may provide a different scrolling-screenshot control. Try the device’s screenshot toolbar, update the system and X app, or use the overlapping-screenshot method below. Do not keep scrolling after a failed capture and assume the file contains the rest of the thread; inspect the saved image.

iPhone: understand the Full Page limitation
Apple’s screenshot guide documents Full Page capture for content that extends beyond the display, using a webpage in Safari as its example. That documentation does not promise that an X thread inside the native iPhone app can be saved as one full-page image. You can still test it, but treat the result as device- and app-dependent.
Try Full Page
- Open the thread and make sure it is expanded with Show this thread.
- Take a screenshot: press the Side button and Volume Up together on Face ID models, or the appropriate Side and Home-button combination on older models.
- Tap the thumbnail before it disappears.
- If the editor offers Full Page, select it and review the preview. Drag the page controls to include the posts you need.
- Tap Done, choose Save PDF to Files if that is the available output, and verify that the saved document contains the complete thread.
If Full Page does not appear, or it produces only the visible X app screen, iPhone has not provided a native one-image thread capture in that view. Take several normal screenshots and combine them, or use a desktop workflow.
Desktop: create a designed thread image
A dedicated browser extension can be useful when you want a single PNG with consistent spacing instead of a very tall phone screenshot. XThreadShot, from TrueMindLabs, says its Chrome and Edge extension captures a post or thread, provides style controls, exports PNG, processes images locally, and does not require an account. Those are vendor claims; check the extension’s current listing, permissions, and availability before installing.
Typical desktop workflow
- Open X in Chrome or Edge and load the complete thread. Use Show this thread first.
- Install the extension only from a source you trust and review its requested permissions.
- Run it on the thread page, select the thread rather than a single post, and choose the available layout or theme controls.
- Preview the generated image. Confirm that quoted posts, media, timestamps, and links have not been clipped.
- Export PNG and open it at 100% zoom. A stylized card can be attractive, but reducing its width too far makes post text hard to read.
Desktop capture can also avoid the extreme height limits some phone viewers impose. It does not remove X’s content restrictions: protected posts, deleted posts, login walls, and posts that have not loaded cannot be rendered into a complete image.

Fallback: join overlapping screenshots yourself
When scrolling capture is unavailable, manual stitching is dependable if you preserve overlap between frames.
- Set a comfortable text size and turn off transient overlays such as notification banners.
- Capture the first screen, then scroll by less than one full screen so the bottom portion of the previous image remains visible.
- Repeat until the last required post is saved. Keep the files in order.
- Open an image editor that supports layers or a panorama/stitch function. Align repeated text, profile pictures, or divider lines in the overlap.
- Crop away duplicated bands and empty margins. Do not stretch the result; stretching changes text clarity.
- Export PNG for sharp text or JPEG when a smaller file is more important. Inspect the final image at normal reading size.
Check the seams
- Look for a sentence, avatar, or timestamp that appears twice.
- Check that media was not inserted between two frames while you were scrolling.
- Make sure replies have not been mistaken for the author’s next thread post.
- Verify the beginning and end, including any post hidden behind Show this thread.

Troubleshooting
The thread stops halfway
Return to the thread’s first post and select Show this thread. X may truncate threads of four or more posts in the timeline. Also wait for each media item to load before capturing.
The Android image contains only one screen
Your device or the current X surface may not support scrolling capture. Try another entry point to the thread, update Android, or switch to overlapping screenshots.
Full Page is unavailable on iPhone
Apple’s documented example is a Safari webpage, not the native X app. Save ordinary screenshots and stitch them, or capture the thread from a desktop browser.

Posts or images are missing
Check login state, protected-account permissions, network connectivity, and whether a post was deleted. A screenshot cannot include content that X does not deliver to your session.

The final image is unreadable
Capture fewer posts per image, use PNG, retain the original pixel dimensions, and avoid aggressive resizing. For sharing, provide the original file or a link alongside a preview.
The stitched image has jumps or duplicates
Use smaller scroll increments and retain a clear overlap. Align text baselines rather than relying only on edges, then crop repeated regions after alignment.
