A normal screenshot records only the visible viewport. A full-page or scrolling screenshot extends down the page and saves the additional content as one image or, on some platforms, a PDF. Use the built-in route for the device or browser you already have: iPhone Safari uses Full Page, Android 12 and later use Capture more, Microsoft Edge uses Capture full page, and desktop Firefox uses Save full page.
Choose the right capture method
Start with the app displaying the content. Built-in tools are usually the most reliable way to preserve a webpage, but availability depends on the operating system, browser, app, and whether the screen actually supports scrolling.

How to take a full-page screenshot on iPhone
Apple’s documented iPhone flow can capture content beyond the screen, including an entire webpage in Safari.
- Open the webpage in Safari and scroll or load the section you want included.
- Take a normal screenshot using your iPhone’s screenshot button combination.
- Tap the screenshot preview that appears in the lower-left corner.
- At the top of the editor, tap Full Page. The preview changes from the visible screen to the complete available page.
- Use the crop controls if you need only part of the page.
- Use the available save or share controls. The exact destinations can vary with your iOS version and installed apps.
If Full Page is not present, the current app or screen may not expose a scrollable document to iOS. Try the same page in Safari, update iOS, or use the browser’s print/share route instead. A standard screenshot without the Full Page selection remains only the visible viewport.

How to take a scrolling screenshot on Android
Android 12 and later provide Capture more on most screens that allow scrolling. Phone makers can change the wording or placement, so the control is not guaranteed in every app.
- Open the scrollable webpage, conversation, settings list, or document.
- Press Power + Volume Down at the same time.
- When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Capture more.
- Drag the crop guides to include the desired amount of content. You can stop before the absolute bottom if you only need a section.
- Tap the save control shown by your phone.
The resulting file is an extended screenshot rather than a collection of separate images. If Capture more is missing, the screen may not support scrolling capture, the phone may use a manufacturer-specific command, or the device may run an older Android release. Check the phone maker’s support instructions instead of assuming the feature exists in every application.
How to capture an entire webpage in Microsoft Edge
On desktop Edge, the built-in Screenshot tool can capture the complete webpage, including content below the visible area.
- Open the webpage in Microsoft Edge.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S to open Screenshot.
- Select Capture full page.
- Review the generated page-length image.
- Use Edge’s markup tools if needed, then copy or save the result.
For a page that changes while it loads, wait until its text and images have finished rendering before starting the capture. If a page uses an internal scroll panel rather than the browser window, Edge may capture the document but not automatically expand every nested panel; capture the panel separately when necessary.

How to save a full page in Firefox
Firefox on Windows, macOS, or Linux
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Open Firefox’s screenshot tool from the page actions or browser menu.
- Choose Save full page.
- Let Firefox render the page-length preview.
- Save the image or copy it using the controls shown.
This is distinct from selecting a visible region: Save full page asks Firefox to include content below the viewport.
Firefox for iOS
- Open the page in Firefox for iOS and take a normal iPhone screenshot.
- Tap the screenshot preview.
- Select Full Page.
- Tap Done, then choose Save as PDF.
Firefox for iOS’s documented full-page route therefore gives you a PDF. Use the desktop Firefox route when you specifically need an image.
What about Chrome?
Chrome DevTools guides commonly describe a Capture full size screenshot command, but the available evidence here does not include current official Chrome documentation. Chrome’s DevTools interface can change, so verify the command against the Chrome DevTools help for your installed version before relying on it. Chrome does not have a universally documented ordinary-toolbar button that should be promised for every user.
If your goal is a text-focused archive rather than an image, the browser’s print dialog and Save as PDF option may be more appropriate. A PDF preserves selectable text and pagination, while a full-page screenshot preserves the rendered visual appearance.

Image or PDF: which should you choose?
- Choose an image when you need a visual reference, design review, bug report, social post, or pixel-level record of a page.
- Choose a PDF when readers need selectable text, printing, page numbers, or a document that can be annotated.
- Use the built-in browser route when the page is public and you are capturing it interactively.
- Use a capture service when you need repeatable automation, custom viewport settings, many URLs, or server-side output.
Common problems and fixes
The full-page option is missing
Confirm that the page or panel actually scrolls. On Android, only Android 12 and later expose the documented Capture more flow, and Google limits it to most scrollable screens. On iPhone, try Safari for a webpage. In Firefox or Edge, make sure you opened the browser’s screenshot tool rather than the operating system’s basic screenshot command.
The capture stops before the bottom
Some pages load content only as you approach it. Scroll through the page once, wait for lazy images to appear, and retry. Cookie dialogs, sticky banners, chat widgets, and infinite-scroll feeds can also change the page while it is being captured. Dismiss or accept overlays before starting, and stop an infinite feed at the point you actually need.
Images are blank or shifted
Wait for fonts, images, and animations to finish. A page that is still reflowing can produce gaps or duplicated sections. If the browser offers no way to wait, reload on a stable connection and capture after the layout stops moving.
Only a nested panel needs to be captured
Full-page tools normally target the document, not every independently scrolling element. Use the panel’s own scroll position and a regular region screenshot, or temporarily open the panel’s content as a separate page if the application supports that.

Crop unused sections, choose a PDF when text is the priority, or resize the image after saving. A long, high-resolution page can be difficult for email, chat, and image viewers even when the capture itself succeeded.
