Scroll the page—or its inner feed panel—until all required items have appeared, pause for images and text to finish rendering, then use a full-page or full-size screenshot command. A normal viewport capture records only what is currently visible, and a full-page command cannot recover items that the site has not yet loaded or has already removed from a virtualized list.
What makes infinite-scroll screenshots different
On a conventional document, the browser can calculate a page height and capture content below the fold. Infinite-scroll interfaces change that document as you scroll: JavaScript requests another batch, lazy-loaded images start downloading, and some feeds keep only nearby items in the DOM. The screenshot tool captures the state that exists at capture time, not every item the server could theoretically provide.
- Viewport screenshot: captures only the visible rectangle.
- Full-page or full-size screenshot: captures the document beyond the viewport, provided that content is present in the page.
- Nested feed: a scrollable panel, modal or column may load items independently of the outer document.
- Virtualized list: the site may remove older rows as new rows appear, so one giant image may be impossible without another capture method.
For evidence, auditing or archiving, decide first which items must be visible. “Everything” on an endless feed has no natural endpoint; define a stopping rule such as a date, post ID, item count or the last visible result.
Reliable workflow for an infinite-scroll page
- Open the page on a desktop browser. Sign in first if the feed is private, and confirm that the account is allowed to view the content.
- Find the active scrollbar. Scroll the document and then inspect cards, sidebars, modals and chat-like panels for their own scrollbar. A full-document command will not necessarily drive an inner panel.
- Load the required range. Scroll steadily through the relevant feed. After each batch appears, pause until text and images finish rendering. Continue until your stopping rule is met.
- Stabilize the page. Return to the top if your capture method starts there. Close cookie prompts, newsletters and chat bubbles, and temporarily collapse sticky headers when the site allows it.
- Capture the page or element. Choose the browser method below. For a panel, capture that element when the tool supports it; otherwise capture logical sections.
- Inspect the output. Check for missing batches, blank image placeholders, duplicated seams, repeated fixed headers, clipped cards and an unexpectedly short image. If anything is wrong, load more content and repeat.
Keep the browser tab open while the capture runs. Navigating away, changing filters or allowing a session to expire can change the feed between loading and capture.

Microsoft Edge: Capture full page
Edge has a built-in Screenshot command. Press Ctrl+Shift+S, choose Capture full page, review the result and save it. Microsoft describes this as capturing an entire webpage, including content beyond the screen, without manually scrolling during the capture.
Use it after you have already scrolled an infinite feed to load the required items. If the feed lives in a nested panel, scroll that panel first; Edge’s document capture may otherwise include only the panel’s initial batch. Conventional pages are the best fit. Verify extremely tall or virtualized feeds because “full page” describes the document state, not a guarantee that every earlier item remains in the DOM.
Firefox: Save full page
Right-click an empty area of the page, select Take Screenshot, then choose Save full page. Firefox also offers Save visible, which records only the current viewport. Download the image or copy it from the screenshot interface.
Firefox is useful when you want a built-in command with no extension. Load lazy media before invoking it. If the site recycles feed rows, inspect the result for omitted earlier items; a document-wide capture cannot include nodes the site discarded.
Chrome and Chromium: Capture a full-size screenshot
Open DevTools, enable Device Mode if necessary, open the additional-options menu and select Capture a full size screenshot. Chrome documents this command as including content that is not visible in the viewport.

If the menu entry is not shown, open the DevTools Command Menu and search for screenshot commands. Do not assume that a full-size capture will trigger an infinite feed’s loading events. Scroll the feed yourself first, and capture the inner element or separate sections if the list is virtualized. Use a third-party full-page screenshot extension only after checking its current support and the permissions it requests.
Firefox Developer Tools: whole page or one element
Firefox Developer Tools can capture an entire page or a selected element. In the Web Console, run:
:screenshot filename.png --fullpageTo capture one feed or panel, select it in Inspector and use the screenshot action from the element’s context menu. Element capture is often cleaner than a document capture when the page has a fixed navigation bar or several unrelated columns. As with the browser shortcuts, load the feed first and verify that virtualized rows were retained.

Choose a built-in command for a one-off capture or sensitive account. Choose element capture when the feed is a component inside a larger application. If the page recycles content or is too tall to read, capture date-based sections or preserve the underlying data as well as an image.
Why items are missing—and how to fix them
Lazy-loaded images are blank
Cause: the image request starts only when the card approaches the viewport, or it is still decoding when capture starts. Fix: scroll until each required image enters view, pause for it to finish, then capture again. A full-page command does not replace the page’s own lazy-loading trigger.

Only the first batch appears
Cause: you scrolled the outer document while the feed has its own scrollbar. Fix: place the pointer over the feed, drag or wheel its scrollbar, and wait for the next batch after each movement. Repeat until the stopping rule is met.
The capture stops early
Cause: the site imposed a content limit, a login gate interrupted loading, or the browser/tool reached a height limit. Fix: authenticate again, remove restrictive filters, and capture logical sections. For an endless or virtualized feed, preserving the source data may be more complete than forcing one enormous image.
Rows disappear as you continue scrolling
Cause: virtualization keeps only a window of rows in the DOM. Fix: capture sections while each range is present, or use a capture service that can wait for and target the relevant element. Do not treat a short full-page image as proof that the feed contained only a few items.
Sticky headers repeat or cover cards
Cause: fixed-position navigation is painted over every stitched segment. Fix: collapse the header, use reader mode where appropriate, hide it with a temporary style, or crop the final image. Check the first and last occurrence so you do not remove real content.
The image is too tall to read
Cause: one image is a poor representation of a long, continuously changing feed. Fix: capture logical sections, label their date or item range, and export a PDF or text representation for reference while retaining screenshots for visual evidence.

Advanced capture considerations
Wait for a stable state
Network activity can continue after cards appear. Wait for the spinner to disappear, images to settle and layout shifts to stop. If you automate capture, a selector that signals “last loaded card” is more dependable than an arbitrary short delay; a network-idle condition can still be defeated by analytics or live connections.

Privacy and account state
Private feeds may contain names, messages or tokens in the rendered page. Blur or crop sensitive areas before sharing, and avoid extensions that request broad access unless their permissions are acceptable. Keep an audit note of the account, filters and capture time so another person can reproduce the same range.
Performance and reliability
Very tall images consume memory and may fail during stitching or editing. Reduce the requested range, capture an element instead of the whole application shell, and avoid repeatedly reloading the page because that can change ranking or insert new items. A deterministic URL, fixed filter and stable viewport make repeat captures easier to compare.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I prove that a feed was complete when it has no endpoint?
Define and record a boundary such as a timestamp, item ID or count. An endless feed cannot be demonstrated to be globally complete from one screenshot.
Should I save the image or the page data too?
For audits or investigations, save both when permitted: the screenshot preserves visual context, while structured data or exported text makes searching and verification possible.
Why does a PDF sometimes work better than one image?
A PDF can divide a long capture into pages, making text readable and reducing the memory pressure associated with one extremely tall bitmap.
